The bed was very comfortable and the robes were a little wild but very nice. Room was clean. Decor was a little over the top in the rooms themselves but the common areas were very nice.

The Charles is a perfect place to stay in Cambridge. It is well located, well designed with contemporary clean lines but still warm, and the Rialto is a fabulous restaurant in the hotel. We had a corner room which was quite spacious which we really appreciated as we were staying multiple nights.
Location was excellent. The room was very nice and comfortable. Excellent farm to table restaurant and bar. Although they had a parking garage, the elevator to the lobby was out of order so you had to take the stairs and the stairs lead to outside the front entrance. Very inconvenient if carrying any bags from the car and also because of sub-zero temps that weekend. Also no in and out access for self parking at $40 per night. If you leave you have to pay again.
One great thing about Harvard Square is the high energy and bustle, especially when school is in session. What makes The Charles so perfect is that it is a tranquil respite right on the edge of all the happenings.
Great location near the center of Harvard Square. Rialto is an excellent restaurant. Regatta Bar is great if you like jazz. Hotel is in need of renovation. New England shabby-chic means it's just a basic hotel in terms of cleanliness and room amenities. Bathrooms are seriously dated and in need of complete redo. Service levels are mediocre. Business center is a joke (1 computer and an attached printer). Prices are very high: you are paying for the location.
Everything is within walking distance as I enjoyed a glorious autumn afternoon. I browsed endless rows of books at the Coop, watched rowers glide along the Charles River and ran stairs at Harvard Stadium while the football team engaged in a spirited practice. When I returned to the hotel, the room smelled great. They must have a special scent. I enjoyed the organic soap, shampoo and lotion that came with the room. Henrietta's Table is great for breakfast / brunch, and I highly recommend The Harvest for dinner. A very nice stay.
Excellent service and superior restaurant. Very friendly staff who facilitated the check in and out as well as the luggage. I was in and out many times with my 7 year old grandson and he was always greeting with a smile. My daughter belongs to your health club and so they are used to going to your hotel. Overall, a well located, efficient and very quiet hotel.

Being told they couldn't change our departure and charges despite a family emergency because it was our fault we used a third party reservation service. Being told entirely dissimilar rooms were the same. Smelly comforter covered by clean sheets. No coffee maker in room. Ice available only on request from room service.
The Charles Hotel is centrally located in Cambridge, so it's very easy to get around the town. We walked wherever we needed to go and got there quickly and easily. The hotel has several dining options and an actual fitness club, not just a room with some cardio equipment and universal equipment. The wifi works well and the staff were all very helpful. It's pretty expensive to stay here, but we found a good deal on one of the discount hotel sites. I'd return in a heart beat.

Its location was great. Next to a mall and a short walk to a strip mall and next to major attractions and public transportation. I was extremely disappointed in the breakfast that was served and the amenities that either they didnt have or were not mentioned to me by staff. The breakfast for me is why i choose this hotel brand. I have in the past stayed at the hampton inn and found that the breakfast was wonderful. Although it was a buffet style the food was barely warm and was not of the standard i had been acustomed too. the first morning there were no eggs and the second morning there were unusual lookng eggs in which i had to ask what they were. breakfast is the most important start of the day and had id known that the breakfast was not going to be up to parr i would have stayed at the days inn just down the street. i will think twice before making my choice

The room was clean and comfy and the breakfast every morning was pretty good. Also close to a shopping mall. I did not think it necessary that they replaced my soap and towels every day without me asking for it (I did not throw the towels on the floor). I reckon resources can be saved.. Hotel staff was a mix between very friendly and kinda blunt-friendly. If you need to be in the city center, it is a bit out of the way (but well accessible with the T).

The location. They offered none of the amenities that typically are offered free at any other hotel I have stayed in. Very low value for the top money they ask for. I won't be staying there again on my next trip to Cambridge.
Convenient location. Clean room. Very helpful and pleasant staff. It's shocking that for the price you pay for a room at a Marriott that Wi-Fi or wired Internet connectivity is not free. Really? Bathroom vanity was very small, too small for two people to be getting ready at the same time. The under-mounted bathroom sink wasn't installed under the granite, vanity top correctly...surprisingly low build quality or QA, again, for the price of a room at a Marriott.
I was very pleasantly surprised at the overall professionalism and courtesy of the staff. The location cannot be beat if you're visiting MIT.

Good elevator security, location, friendly doormen, the staff apologized for not taking care of my water problem or leaving a note. Didn't fix the loud banging noise when I used the hot water in the bathroom sink, mold in the shower drain, shower clothes line didn't work, no Boston papers available, coffee poor quality, Starbucks croissants were day old and cost $4+, I had a view over industrial Boston, obstructed by the gym. Even the gym faced away from the water.
Easy about 1 mile walk to back bay. Room smelled musty. First was given a room that wasn't cleaned properly. A shirt was in the corner of the room and a black mascara mark on the pillow. Then was moved to a room with a balcony which was nicer but still smelled musty and had eaten food(baba ganoush) left in the fridge. Housekeeping needs to improve! Will never stay again. Hyatt Regency in East Boston by the airport is way better!

They hotel was very nice but the staff were even nicer. Except maybe the valet guys. They seemed bitter but it was very cold outside also. The 38 dollars a day to park your car at the hotel.
The hairs in and around the tub were so unpleasant, I spent about 15 minutes cleaning the tub before I could use it. Shampoo from dispenser does not lather. How many people touch those nasty things??? It also fell off the wall when i was trying to dispense shampoo. We were interrupted twice due to smoke complaints on our floor. We smelled it too. The kids next door screamed and ran around until about 11. But I booked this room JUST to get some peace and quiet while working on an important project for work. That didnt happen. If i knew the night would go like this I wouldnt have spent 200 dollars. Also, the beds are extremely uncomfortable and there is no extra blanket to be found anywhere in the room.

The front desk staff was friendly and expedient. Great location, right on the water -- excellent running trails. All rooms have waterfront views. My room was clean, comfortable, and updated. There are set taxi rates from the hotel to the airport -- so be sure you get the negotiated fare! Art Bar had slow service -- I would recommend leaving the property to eat.

Staff was nice. Location is terrific for quick access to Cambridge/MIT Beds only so-so and pillows not great. Bathroom fixtures and amenities are also just okay. Walls are thin. Used to think of Meridien as an upscale brand, but this is just an average hotel.
Excellent location. Right next to MIT and Novartis. 1) The temperature in the breakfast room was a bit COLD. It is a large room and one entire side is windows. I visited in mid-November. I wonder what it is like when winter sets in. 2) The water pressure in my shower was on the low side. 3) The fan in the climate control is noisy.

All of the staff were so incredibly friendly and helpful. In particular, Daniel at the front desk and Paul at Sidney's. They went out of their way to give us insight and recommendations regarding the area and just went above and beyond in general. The king bed was very comfortable and the 3rd floor roof garden was beautiful! We had a view from our room and were so pleasantly surprised. We spent quite a bit of time in it and feel that it's a great selling point for the hotel. The hotel is very beautiful with spectacular modern lighting and art. We spent some time at Sidney's both eating and at the bar and found the food and drinks to be very tasty and reasonably priced. The breakfast buffet was delicious and had many options. The room could use some deep cleaning. The headboard, chaise, and pendant lamp had very noticeable stains on them. The air conditioner was very noisy when it kicked off or on, loud enough to wake us up during the night.

This hotel is undergoing renovation. It needs it. The ac unit in our room was clearly old and beat up. There were holes in the halls where new cables are being or will be run. There were screw holes in the bathroom and an outline around them on the wallpaper of something that used to be mounted there, but isn't anymore. The hotel did not live up to it's description. It was shabby not boutique-like. Just an old hotel with choice of soap. The location, while convenient, was your basic strip mall surrounded by more strip malls. The parking fee was to park your own car in an open parking lot. They did not tell you that parking spaces next door were free. All in all, pretty annoying
$12 parking fee. Outrageous for the location! The desk clerk did waive ours when I complained that we would be there for only 10 hours. The room price was rather high for the value.

The food, room service staff, the bed, the ambiance. The arrogance of hotelstaff, the way they snubb/address eachother when they do not want to do a task themselves, are gossiping when idle and the lack of interest in guests.
The hotel was very clean and very roomy. It also was close to the T Things I didn't like were.. Couldn't get the room to feel completely warm.set thermostat to 78 it barely hit 70. Parked in the parking garage a block away for $22 for the weekend compared to the hotel wanting to charge me $51 to park per day kind of a no brainier. Who's there was a pool or hot tub to relax in during our stay.

staff were very friendly and it was in the best location of Boston. Overall it was an excellent choice - value for the money I paid. At my surprise, opon checking out they charged the normal rate, which was twice more expensive than the Booking.com price. Then I had to show the Booking.com e-mail to bring the price back to the one at which the booking was made. It was a cumbersome process. The hotel staff told me that this kind of problem often took place with the Booking .com.

The interior of the hotel. That was about it. The room was not only small but watching tv was only possible sitting on the edge of the bed on the side. Miserable view. Were prepared to pay more for another room. Briefly - no hotel fully bo No value for a lot of money. Breakfast in the Oakroom was one morning being served by a friendly and polite waiter but the next day it was a very arrogant service as if we had to be thankful to be served.
Having to pay $35 to park my car. Given location of hotel, how do they expect people to get there other than by car. It is not like the hotel was in downtown Boston. Should be free to Marriott members. Breakfast was o/k.
Great value for a roomy and spacious quiet location. I loved the shuttle it can pick you up near the stations but I wish I knew coming in instead of walking there. No real amenities but there are renovations underway. Snacks were only provided on the first night not second.

The hotel was incredibly clean. The fitness center had all we needed. The staff was welcoming, friendly, nice, helpful and very funny. This was a five plus star place for a cheap affordable price. We LOVED this place and we would stay at this hotel again. There was nothing not to like. I truly love how clean it was. It could have done without the "NY parking charge" but as New Yorkers we get it.
Very clean and comfortable. I was a single girl and I needed help with my bags which were very heavy. I called up the concierge and the front desk 4 times but no one came to pick up my bags and I had to lift 3 bags on my own..

Staff was great, excellent location, great breakfast (not included, at least at my rate). Comfortable room, nice bed, etc. Heating didn't work, on a rather cold night. It was a bit like staying in a tent during winter camping that way. Staff indicated to me that the heating units (they were old school, but I wouldn't have minded if it worked :) are all in process of replacement.
The staff was very helpful and nice. I made a reservation for the wrong night with kayak and they guided me step by step to correct the error without penalty ( even if I already passed to deadline to cancel). While I was on the phone in the lobby the night manager brought a bottle of water free of charge.

The Westin is located in the heart of Boston with easy access to public transportation, restaurants and shopping. Great location for business travelers. Customer service was also great. Definitely worth checking out for your next business trip!

I always think Internet should be free, and $15 a day seems like gouging. Likewise, great omelette from room service, $55 for breakfast is absurd
What you would expect from a Westin. Clean, fairly modern rooms, big TV, complimentary bottled water, coffee and tea. It's connect by skywalks to other malls so you can get to many places without even hitting the street. Had little interaction with the staff but they were all courteous and efficient.

I only mention this because it seemed like this was someone she called all the time and I wouldn't recommend using them anymore. Seemed odd
The first room we were assigned to had beer cans in rubbish and appeared someone had laid on the bed and watch TV after the bed was made up. We told the front desk and we were immediately moved to a clean room and offered several apologies for any inconvenience. I appreciated the help very, very much. not a thing.

The staff was amazing. Great customer service and very knowledgable of Boston. We had lunch at the restaurant "clink". Both the food and service was fantastic. My only complaint was our room. The bed felt a little cheap and was squeaky. The air conditioner seem to have some trouble keeping the room cool. They had robes in the room and although they were clean, they looked worn and were frayed around the collar and sleeves.

There are so many choices of hotels in Boston, but this hotel is unique and definitely luxury. They give 5 star service and the rooms are very comfortable and clean. We met up with old friends in Boston and we all stayed the the Liberty, we had an amazing time! Also it was great to be able to come back to the hotel after dinner and the bar scene at the hotel was great. The breakfast at the hotel was overpriced for the portions and service was very slow.
The brick work was super cool and the location is top notch. Walking Charles street and public garden was amazing If you stay in the jail rooms the lobby can get a little roudy, but bar closes at 2am so it's quiet after that

The hotel is very unique for sure. How often do you get to stay in a prison in luxury? The staff is very friendly, and the glass of sparkling wine at check in was lovely. The quiet lobby turns into a very lively nightclub in the evening. Our view was a tiny slice of the Charles river and the Royal Sonesta Hotel. The price for everything from drinks to breakfast is obscene. My husband and I had breakfast in Clink Sunday morning, I had Bacon and eggs, with 6 pieces of red potatoe,and two cold pieces of toast. My husband had the same except he had sausages that were undercooked, and we each had coffee. The total came to $59.92 without tip. We didn't get menus, just ordered, so we were stunned. Buyer beware!!
