the hotel is not a good value for momey
The hotel is nicely designed and decorated. The Bar is great, and the bar staff excellent. Breakfast was very nice, and the staff for breakfast helpful The front desk was not helpful. The person on staff was not able to answer questions, was often on the phone on private matters and not attending to the guests. Slow and unreliable and not informed to help guests.
This place was a real unexpected delight and helped make our trip to Patagonia one to remember
We were upgraded to a beautiful Suite, Very clean, spacious and friendly staff. Not enough time to enjoy it more!
Large comfortable rooms with great views of the mountains and lake, very attentive staff and reasonable ly priced.
Every need has been anticipated and catered for, plus the restaurant serves the best bife de chirizo in all of Argentina, complete with salsa criolla and chimichurri. Even if you don't stay here, you have to try the beef. They forgot our airport transfer on arrival, but this was a very small blemish on an outstanding hotel experience.
excellent, friendly staff, modern luxrious nothing,
Hotel interior design & furnishings; breakfast was excellent. Hotel staff friendly & helpful. Your website led us to beleive there was an airport & town shuttle service. This is not correct. The hotel charge for airport pickup was $10.00 more than the regular taxi fare. There was no shuttle to & from town. However, your description regarding distance from town is correct - 10 min. walk. But...mostly uphill. Not for the "faint of heart".
Tour of Glaciers Up hill in not attractive area above the town-but there is not much choice in the town
Location / Value for money
Really lovely hotel. Very modern with excellent facilities. Hotel staff were very friendly and responsive.
Beautiful building, straight out of Grand Designs, with eco materials and massive front windows. Fantastic view onto the lagoon and mountains. Very very comfortable bed. Very helpful staff. Great place to chill. Was a bit surprised at the distance from the town(2.5 km), which wasn't clear on the website, but that wasn't a problem for us as we walk a lot. It's an easy 25 minute walk around the lake, or $12 for a cab at night. Appreciated the quietness... Also not a problem for a female couple to share a bed so gay friendly too.
Wonderful, well decorated splendid view and the staff is just really nice and helpful A little far from the center but with only 12 peso of remis you can reach it.
Hotel was clean, in a beautiful location over looking the bay. Breakfast was acceptable and staff very helpful. Make sure that you bring cash, no credit card accepted to pay your bill. You also can't enjoy a drink in the beautiful lounge area unless you buy it from them, so leave your bottle of wine in your room.
The view. The service of the owners was very very bad, I'm not lying. It was terrible, the worst service ever. I will not recommend this hotel for no body. Go to another hotel, don't go to this one you will get robbed by the owners.
Staff was very helpful. Clean. On the edge of town which we liked because it was quietier. Also had a beautiful view of the water from our room. On the way to the glaciers. A little difficult to find. Signs are not great. No street signs. The hotel is up the hill and there isn't a sign on the main road to find it.
The common space provided excellent viewing of the lake and surrounding mountains. The sound proofing was minimal. Conversations in the next room could be heard easily.
The beds and linen were the best we had slept in in a long long time. The staff were really helpful, especially AJ. Very close to main centre. Awesome view of lake
friendly & helpful staff. the chef made very good meals. Would like expanded hours for the shuttle service. The hotel is too far to walk to downtown.
The hotel was excellent. The staff wonderful. I had problems with my web check in with Lan Chile, and they helped me even though it was not their matter. The hotel was very nice, warm, well decorated, the room had lots of space and view of the lake and mountains. Also a nice lobby plenty of La Patagonia books. The breakfast was incredible, in quality and quantity. The hotel also has a nice deck outside to enjoy a beer at night or breakfast in the morning. Even though it`s not the better located, they have a free shuttle or a hotel car, and it`s not so far from downtown. Ideal for young or mature couples, for solo travellers, and even business trips. I totally recommend it.
Staff at Terrazas del Calafate were always very helpful, and it is such a relaxing place with fantastic views!! and food it is just amazing, much better than any restaurant in Calafate
Lovely room with king size bed, good ensuite bathroom. The is a lounge area with a great view over Lago Argentina where it is nice to relax after a day out. Hotel not yet fgully open (top floor not in use). It is a good 20 minutes walk from Calafate centre.
Everything starting from the friendly and efficient/knowledeable staff at the check-in, clean and comfortable room, to nice dinner with a nice view. Location is a bit far from the center, but walkable.
Nice staff, big rooms with plenty of space, comfort Too hot in the room we had to turn off the AC and only after 2 nights the temperature was ok
Friendly staff, nice large rooms, stunning views of the lake & mountains. Overall a lovely hotel Our only disappointment was we didn't think the takeout lunch boxes were up to par!
Good value, well located. Decently clean and helpful staff.
The insulation between the rooms is really too light.
Excellent hotel in the small town El Calafate. Very clean and nice decorated room with beautiful Lake view. The Hotel Staff is professional and willing to help at anytime. The breakfast was perfect and the rooms has good WiFi connection. Nice recreation areas. If you want to be close, at a walking distance, to the village you will not be disappointed.
Cannot be faulted. Very helpful staff, English speaking reception.
I enjoyed a lot. The hotel was very comfortable, staff really nice and helpfull Nothing to dislike
well staffed and willing to help it has two kind of rooms standard ones the (new) section and a substandard (old) secttion
Hotel was good Value For Money. - Argentinian Restaurant was especially Good For food and Value. - Location was also ok.Overall - Good Needs a Pool or Spa
The hotel is one of the nicest in el calafate and within walking distance of the town.
the staff was excellent.helped us a lot with reccomendation for excursions. very noisy.
Helpful and honestly nice staff, with confortable facilities and a surprisingly beautiful swimming pool. We spend quite nice days there, going and comming from the glaciars. The only remarks are the tansfer timetables, without any late nor early one. There could be a room with games/entertainement, as it is far from town and there is cold outside, so you spend a lot of time at the hotel
The location, the staff, the cleanliness and the lake view
Very nice and new hotel a bit far from the down town but there is a shulttle service every hour. Wide bathroom with jacuzzi Some little problems with plumbing in bathroom - the check out at ten o'clock in the morning
The friendly staff and the Hotel facilities.
bread at the dinner, big window in the room, bathtub with hydromassage view is not like on pictures, we see no wonderfull lake but dirty pool; for ordinary good pillow you need to pay extra; long waiting time at restraung; brekfast is frugal; absence of internet in the room because of wrong network settings and in lobby it working rarely
absolutely awful and rude front desk service. the coldest people i encountered the entire trip and overall for a long long time.
The indoor-outdoor pool is very cool. The breakfast is pretty good, and you can even order a lunch to go (have to do it the night before) if you're taking a trip that day, which is a very nice feature. You also get a welcome drink when you check in. For a "deluxe suite" the rooms are average. The location isn't great, but the hotel shuttle is very dependable. If you take the bus from the airport, you'll be one of the last dropped off (and one of the first picked up on your way back). On the plus side, if you're heading to the glacier, you're be one of the last on and first off.
cozy and nice hotel. don't expect any lake view though (it's all gone).
The location, the staff, the cleanliness and the lake view the water of the pool was cold, so it was not possible to be used (what I believe is the most charming thing in the hotel)
prefect view of lake and sunset.this hotel outlook is very very cool!!
Beutifful View of the Laguna
absolutely great location. if you stay for more than 2 nights, choose for lake view; it's worth it
Excellent view facing Lago Argentino, exquisite hotel architecture. Staff can be more helpful and the jacuzzi bath in our room (305) was not working.
Comfortable beds and good location with an excellent view of the lake. But bad service. Front desk not making reservations or giving us appropriate messages from tour agencies who changed times for our tours which could have caused us to miss the tours and almost caused us to not have anywhere to eat for Christmas Eve!!!
Good service, Nice atmosphere, and a great view on the lake A lot of rubbish alongside the street towards the hotel
the wonderful view of argentina lake from our room (not all the rooms have this view) We did not like the hotel. It looks poor. The rooms need redecoration. the carpet is dirty. the bathroom looks poor. We found a spider in our room. They did not change the sheets although we stayed there for 3 nights. The breakfast was poor and the food looked bad. I can continue and write bed things but I think tis is enough.
Large bedroom and bed, good location for visiting the glaciers. Friendly staff. Some of the fittings were a bit cheap for this class of hotel. Asked for a lake view on our booking months before we stayed. Can´t know for sure but looks like Booking.com clients don´t get the highest priority with this hotel.
sevice and staff is very good except no air condition in the room
hotel was in a good location overlooking Calafate. The rooms were good, we only had breakfast inthe hotel but that was good. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, even booking a tour for us the following day despite our late arrival.
The hotel has a beautiful view, nicely appointed rooms, pleasant staff. It is in El Calafate, AR, which is a center for seeing glaciers and hiking, which is why we were there. The hotel is expensive. The breakfast is OK, but not great. The restaurant has a very limited dinner menu with mediocre quality of food preparation. I could not get the wireless internet to work in my room.
The design was nice and the hotel shuttle was just perfect The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The computer service was not very convenient and only 2 of the 3 computers worked.
Very helpful, efficient and charming staff; Only used the dining room for breakfast but we did enjoy the room layout and the breakfast was excellent A little far out of town but the good bus schedule helped a lot
Warmness of the hospitality of the staff. Regular bus shuttle to the town was great as was the restaurant at the hotel.
The Hotel was excellent. Very good and comprehensive breakfast included in the room rate. Superb views with excellent reliable and quick transfer system to and from the centre of Calafate. The only minor let down was the size of the swimming pool which was no more than a dipping / playing pool which felt crowded with more than 2 people in it
The stuff were very kind and helpfull A little thing: the swimming pool is very little. Nice for staying but too little to swim. Maybe it would be more correct to inform that fact in the internet.
The breakfast is disappointing, all products, from jam to coffee and cereals, seem of poor quality.
We went walking and ate in wonderful resturants and saw the sights. They did not have room service even though they said they did and did not provide transfers to the airport.
Staff friendliness, luxury look and feel, convenient bar and shuttle service. Very pleasant stay and nice to sit out back and look at the lake. Only thought on opportunities is something they can't change which is the room size. While more than adequate, we recently stayed in a hotel with jumbo size rooms that really made us feel special
Excellent hotel, great rooms, friendly staff, free shuttle van from/to downtown, good rates too. Amazing view of the Lake Argentino from my window. Recomend it for sure.
clean, comfortable, nice staff
Nice hotel, clean and quiet (if you get used to the wind), friendly hotel staff. Shuttle service from hotel to town with irregular hours. Too far to go by foot.
nice hotel, good service, clean, comfortable, helpfull staff, decent price, good deal.
The manager was very nice.Very good breakfast When we arrived the room was not clean and we did not have a double or Queen Bed.The next morning I spoke to the manager and when we came back in the afternoon the room was very clean and we had a nice Queen Bed for the other 3 nights We we're very pleased that our complaint had been heard
Staff was friendly and very helpful, beautiful outdoor areas and common areas, great breakfast. Far from city center, but the shuttle service every half hour made this a non-issue.
Room was very comfortable and nicely decorated. Staff were helpful and friendly. Easy internet access. Daily shuttles to and from town. Restrooms had bidets! Great water pressure. Found it hot and stuffy. Had to turn off heat and open windows. Eggs too dry for breakfast. Otherwise breakfast buffet adequate. Lots of bread and pastries. No gym or pool or extras that you would expect from a four star hotel. Fridge didn't work.
We liked the nearby(walking distance) to the horseriding excursions and also the walking potential around Lake Argentina. The desk staff was very informative and helpful all the time. No, very pleasant
helpfujness of staff
The location of hotel and friendly staff The room was too hot. (The heated bathroom floor was heating the whole room. Maybe, some form of air conditioning required).
We loved being outside of town and right on the lake. The view from the dining room and some of the rooms was beautiful overlooking the amazing blue Lago Argentina. All of the tours we did picked us up from the hotel, so there was no issue for us being away from town. We only used the shuttle once, but my suggestion is to get out there early because the shuttle fills up very quickly(especially around dinner hour) and has limited space. The best thing about this hotel was the staff. All were super friendly and overly helpful for all of our inquiries. They all spoke english really well. I was able to set up all of our tours before we even arrived to argentina by email interaction with the staff. They answered my many email quickly and thoroughly. Ive never experienced hotel staff like this anywhere in the world. They went above and beyond and it was much appreciated! Dinner was adequate, nothing to write home about, but for us was just out of convenience one night when we didnt want to go into town. Breakfast was good with cakes, croissants, meats, cheese, bread, yogurt, fruit, coffee, juice, etc. Only negative feedback is how hot our rooms were(we had 2 rooms next to each other with another couple we were traveling with). It was quite cool outside during our stay in November(40-50 farenheight during the day), but it felt like an oven in our rooms. There was no way to control the heat except turn off the radiator which we did the first night. We left the windows open while in the room, which we would have rather not have done because we were on ground level, but this didnt even help. We asked for fans but they didnt have any. My suggestion would be that they get fans.
Hotel was excellent, rooms were very spacious and warm. Breakfast was excellent but it was the staff who made this sty so good Matteo in particular was superb at his job and nothing for him or any other of his colleagues was too much trouble.
Mateo was very helpful in making all necessary arrangements fortrips and airline bookings. Would like to have wash clothes for the bathroom
Staff brilliant, location awesome, great town, very good place They recommended ves Patagonia for airport transfers, and they were so slow we missed our flight.....Restuarant not great, food in the town of a much higher standard
Very good service by most staff especially Matteo. Free shuttle ride into El Calafate. Proximity to most of the attractions in El Calafate and beyond. Would recommend a good taxi driver / guide if time is short to see attractions and suggest Santiago from the Remis Condor company.
There was a mixup in our reservation--we had booked two rooms; they had reserved only one--but the staff corrected it without any fuss. All the staff was courteous and attentive, and were happy to share information about activities in the area. The location of the hotel is mixed. It sits on a hill overlooking Lago Argentina, which is spectacular. But it is quite a distance out of town. While the hotel provides shuttle service, it's a pain for guests to schedule outings around the shuttle schedule.
Great Hotel, great Staff, gerat Rooms! Only the breakfast Could Have been better
The staff at the hotel were very very helpful in a very genuine manner. We receive complementary drinks on arrival and nothing was too much trouble for them. Staff were very knowledgable about all aspects of travelling, sightseeing and eating in the local area. Hotel is a little out of the main town but a regular free shuttle runs there hourly and we enjoyed the more secluded location.
The hotel is part of an old estancia, though it is now in the city of El Calafate. It has beautiful grounds and is quite charming. The staff was wonderful. The rooms are a little dated. The carpets need to be deep-cleaned or replaced. If you're walking, it is about 15 minutes to the city's restaurants.
