Location of hotel Quality of service. Even the staff serving the executive club floor were not friendly and helpful. Especially the female staff.
The location is the best for shopping and eating The amenities in the bathroom didn't change or add such as bar soap.
Fairly quick check in process (which was also improved since the room was prepaid by booking through Kayak) Easy access via taxi, with a covered drop off/pick up area (great since it rains so much in Hong Kong) 2 complimentary bottles of filtered water Safe in the room didn't work at all, and looked like it had been tampered with Small lobby with a ton of bags left by other guests, with minimal security and the bags out in the open Toilet was chipped and cracked Shower door didn't close fully, and the hot water took forever to come out Overall, pretty shabby decor and facilities for the price paid. I'd recommend Lanson Place Hotel over the Regal for any business travellers.
Good hospitality It was a little difficult to catch a taxi.
Hotel a little over-rated and riding a bit off the back of having two of Hong Kongs best restaurants in the same building. Locaion a bit out of the way for most things you might want to see / do. Staff did their best to get me an early check-in as I arrived at 8am. Others arriving just after we less lucky. Location not great but right on the tramline.
Huge room for hong kong standards. Real (and huge) paintings in the room and corridors. Good location and excellent price. If you have a lot of baggage, the free shuttle to the airport express line ( hong kong station ) can be very convenient (otherwise subway can be faster) Overpriced dinner buffet....but who care about that in hong kong? a city with so many culinary options
ask the staff to fix the bath room , but they never sent staff to fix it . very disppointed.
Reception and check in not very friendly.
Good value for a good location. Great staff and lovely appearance. Kayak's booking didn't go through and caused a delayed check-in.
My room was very spacious. I did get upgraded but this was much cheaper and just as luxurious as the the grand Hyatt in wan chai. Great location very near the metro and next toVictoria park. Also next to Ding Tai Fung.
Nothing First off we booked for 10/21-23 and my email confirmarion and screen shot of booking all confirmed this. When we went to check in , they told us that booking was for 11/4-6. I showed them the confirmation then they told us we needed to take the issue up with kayak. After arguing for 3 hours(i dont give up) they finally gave us the room. The hotel is NOT a 5 star (1star) and the pictures are MISLEADING. Theoughout the stay the staff was awful. The hotel is also filled with mainlanders which makes it extremely noisy and crowded. Avoid avoid avoid. I couldnt take another day so in the end I booked the shangri-la.
The location is a stone throw away from major shopping malls at Causeway Bay Hong Kong. It has complimentary bus service by Airport Shuttle H2 from Hong Kong station. Room size is good for Hong Kong standard. Gym is in basement 3, not big, but no views, no service staff, but open 24 hrs enter by hotel room key. There is a small pool on 32nd floor roof top with sweeping views. Good thing is via booking.com, you can cancel the booking up to 2 days before the travelling date. You do not pay online and settle the bill directly with the hotel only when you check out of the hotel. The toiletries provided is insufficient and a little stingy. For instance, if previous days toiletries are used partially, chamber maid may not replenish the next day even though you pay for the another day's room night. Quality of shampoo and bath gel is economical and not befitting a 5 star hotel. There is no comb, cotton wool for ladies facial, or cottton buds provided. If you pay for an extra bed, sometimes they forgot to provide 3rd set of towels or complimentary towel. Booking.com does not show the service charge to be imposed which may amount to 10% of room rates quoted. Please budget for that when you settle your bill. It should quote the all in costs to be transparent for travellers.
A lot of lifts available for guests so practically didnt have to wait long for a ride. It has been remodeled & the rooms are the same size but newer carpet, bathroom. Very conveniently located
close to shopping area hotel too old
services & facilities not as good as previous years. hotel run down.
We loved our room with the view of the park and harbour. It was also close to good shopping and the railway station. The bed and bathroom were very clean and modern. We did not realize it did not have a pool but this didn't matter as the weather was cool.
Staff were helpful and room was always made up whenever requested.
Central locality, near Times Square and all business centres. Honesty of housekeeping staff, they returned me some monies left behind. Front Office is too jammed and efficiency doubtful.
The CD player in the room is very nice, I happened to buy a disk before I got there, I loved the music and the night view outside the window is goreiouse! Brekafast is not quite good and it is not worth the price they charge!
The additional charge for internet use in your room is disappointing, particularly with the high cost of accommodation in the hotel.
very close to the downtown center shopping mall no swimming pools
Excellent location. The Concierge is very helpful and efficient in advising guests where to dine and how to reach a location. None.
The hotel location and the staff was very helpful, great hotel to stay with family too. None
Have stayed at the Excelsior years agoa and chose due to location. Its still as good, Bar on 34th superb and staff are excellent at looking after you, especially concierge... Rooms a little on the small side...
Harbour view room and great location bathroom l
The Excelsior is a HK landmark. The view is outstanding. The location is unbeatable. Staff always ready to help. I liked locaton and view best. Great! No free internet use in rooms nor anywhere at the hotel. Made it fall behind new design business hotels in Asia.
Good location. Would be nice if there is a bathtub.
the location, and the service was great... Room was clean and mordern..
The location was excellent. The room provisions was up to my expectations despite my usual business hotel stays. 1. there was a fair amount of hair stuck under my room slippers, perhaps the removal from the carpet was not ideal. 2. I expected better toiletry provisions like soap and shampoo packaged instead of a dispenser 2 in 1.
The included breakfast was below expectations and we ended up eating breakfast at Starbucks!
The location is very strategic and convenient. Maybe the lobby can be upgraded with live music stage.
Great location - so very convenient. Low cost - good value for money.
Central and functional for my one day visit and meetings Could upgrade broadband to wireless
The size of the room was plesently surprising for a Hong Kong hotel. The included breakfast was unexpected and offered a good choice. The lack of bar soap in favor of liquid pump soap, particularly in the shower, was not appreciated.
Good value for money. The staff was not well-trained. The concierge did not provide good avdvice. Breakfast staff spoke little English.
no anybody told me that there is no table in the room when I book via Internet. I thought that 3 thinks must be in each room- bad, table and chair. I asked staff to give me room with table. They ask me to pay extra HKG320/day for this kind of room. Be careful you might be next. Feb.26-Mar.01'15
A shame Mini room No one at the counter To avoid
Location. Air-conditioning. Wifi. Bottled water. Poor everything. It's a no service, bed-sized room, that to get to you have to walk through a brothel to get to. Towels were dirty and stained. Bathroom is a just shower stall with toilet inside it. Also dirty. Check in was a note left at the front desk and the managers number on it which was never answered. I stayed one night because I was too tired from travelling to move. Left without a refund.
The person running the hotel was friendly, but that is where the positives stop. The hotel is a few rooms in a building full of prostitutes and "love hotels." They said they "overbooked" the night we stayed (not sure how that happens) and had to put us in a separate apartment. They actual hotel rooms may be nicer than the apartment they put us in, which was pretty sparse and dreary. Hong Kong can be expensive, but you can do much, much better for the money.
