The location is a stone throw away from major shopping malls at Causeway Bay Hong Kong. It has complimentary bus service by Airport Shuttle H2 from Hong Kong station. Room size is good for Hong Kong standard. Gym is in basement 3, not big, but no views, no service staff, but open 24 hrs enter by hotel room key. There is a small pool on 32nd floor roof top with sweeping views. Good thing is via booking.com, you can cancel the booking up to 2 days before the travelling date. You do not pay online and settle the bill directly with the hotel only when you check out of the hotel. The toiletries provided is insufficient and a little stingy. For instance, if previous days toiletries are used partially, chamber maid may not replenish the next day even though you pay for the another day's room night. Quality of shampoo and bath gel is economical and not befitting a 5 star hotel. There is no comb, cotton wool for ladies facial, or cottton buds provided. If you pay for an extra bed, sometimes they forgot to provide 3rd set of towels or complimentary towel. Booking.com does not show the service charge to be imposed which may amount to 10% of room rates quoted. Please budget for that when you settle your bill. It should quote the all in costs to be transparent for travellers.
Location of hotel Quality of service. Even the staff serving the executive club floor were not friendly and helpful. Especially the female staff.
Nothing First off we booked for 10/21-23 and my email confirmarion and screen shot of booking all confirmed this. When we went to check in , they told us that booking was for 11/4-6. I showed them the confirmation then they told us we needed to take the issue up with kayak. After arguing for 3 hours(i dont give up) they finally gave us the room. The hotel is NOT a 5 star (1star) and the pictures are MISLEADING. Theoughout the stay the staff was awful. The hotel is also filled with mainlanders which makes it extremely noisy and crowded. Avoid avoid avoid. I couldnt take another day so in the end I booked the shangri-la.
Good hospitality It was a little difficult to catch a taxi.
Fairly quick check in process (which was also improved since the room was prepaid by booking through Kayak) Easy access via taxi, with a covered drop off/pick up area (great since it rains so much in Hong Kong) 2 complimentary bottles of filtered water Safe in the room didn't work at all, and looked like it had been tampered with Small lobby with a ton of bags left by other guests, with minimal security and the bags out in the open Toilet was chipped and cracked Shower door didn't close fully, and the hot water took forever to come out Overall, pretty shabby decor and facilities for the price paid. I'd recommend Lanson Place Hotel over the Regal for any business travellers.
The location is the best for shopping and eating The amenities in the bathroom didn't change or add such as bar soap.
Hotel a little over-rated and riding a bit off the back of having two of Hong Kongs best restaurants in the same building. Locaion a bit out of the way for most things you might want to see / do. Staff did their best to get me an early check-in as I arrived at 8am. Others arriving just after we less lucky. Location not great but right on the tramline.
ask the staff to fix the bath room , but they never sent staff to fix it . very disppointed.
Reception and check in not very friendly.
My room was very spacious. I did get upgraded but this was much cheaper and just as luxurious as the the grand Hyatt in wan chai. Great location very near the metro and next toVictoria park. Also next to Ding Tai Fung.
Good value for a good location. Great staff and lovely appearance. Kayak's booking didn't go through and caused a delayed check-in.
Huge room for hong kong standards. Real (and huge) paintings in the room and corridors. Good location and excellent price. If you have a lot of baggage, the free shuttle to the airport express line ( hong kong station ) can be very convenient (otherwise subway can be faster) Overpriced dinner buffet....but who care about that in hong kong? a city with so many culinary options
The CD player in the room is very nice, I happened to buy a disk before I got there, I loved the music and the night view outside the window is goreiouse! Brekafast is not quite good and it is not worth the price they charge!
Staff were helpful and room was always made up whenever requested.
services & facilities not as good as previous years. hotel run down.
very close to the downtown center shopping mall no swimming pools
A lot of lifts available for guests so practically didnt have to wait long for a ride. It has been remodeled & the rooms are the same size but newer carpet, bathroom. Very conveniently located
close to shopping area hotel too old
Central locality, near Times Square and all business centres. Honesty of housekeeping staff, they returned me some monies left behind. Front Office is too jammed and efficiency doubtful.
The additional charge for internet use in your room is disappointing, particularly with the high cost of accommodation in the hotel.
We loved our room with the view of the park and harbour. It was also close to good shopping and the railway station. The bed and bathroom were very clean and modern. We did not realize it did not have a pool but this didn't matter as the weather was cool.
It was quiet, staff were available and checkin/out was quick
Right at the heart of Wan Chai, the center of night life full of pub and bar and restaurant. Close to MTR - the subway train network. Reception counter is a bit small; the gym and the swimming pool are in the next building.
helpful, friendly and informative staff
convenient location to metro station. easy to go anywhere. the room is still small even it's executive.
Very good location. Close to the fair and to mass transport.
location location location. On the first day they put me into a room with broken AC: it was cooling all the time regardless of the setting so my room became freaking cold. When I reported this I was told that they could change my room the next day so I was forced to sleep in this fridge! I caught a cold and couldn't fully enjoy the rest of my stay. In the new room the bathtub plughole was blocked when I checked in. I reported this and they said they would repair this, but in fact they made only a bit less blocked...
Economic and efficient. Clean.
Proximity to Wan Chai MTR. Spacious room (for HK). Excellent staff. Dodgy area. You're going to get hit on getting into your hotel.
This hotel is very well situated in Wanchai. It is just moments walk from the MTR and easy to get a taxi as well. It is not a luxury hotel by any means, but it clean and relatively comfortable. If nightlife is in your plans, you are at "ground zero" for the club scene in WC. Staff is efficient if not overly warm. I have stayed at this hotel and for me it always depends on the price. If I get the room at a good rate, I will stay, if not there are other hotels in the area that are more competitive. When I first stayed here 8 years ago, the hotel was showing signs of wear, now it is firmly planted in the "dated" range. The pubic areas are fine, but the rooms could use a make over. Again, it all depends on the room rate as far as value goes.
Convenience of the location Untimely cleaning of the room
Location was good The rooms were smelly. I had a non-smoking room, abd I still could not sleep because of the smell in the room. I asked them to change the room, they did. I found out that the new room was recently renovated. The first room was very old.
The Chateau Montfort is a charming, warm boutique hotel in a great location in Milan. The design is whimsical, romantic, and elegant. The lobby area is good for tea, a cocktail, or a small business meeting. The restaurant breakfast buffet consists of quality ingredients, albeit at a price to match. The rooms are a good size, the bed extremely comfortable, and the wardrobe large enough to fit a weeks worth of clothes. The TV had the most of channels of any hotel TV anywhere. There were a variety of languages in the 150 channels so you can keep up with the news at home regardless of where home is. The staff were friendly, helpful, and spoke very good English. The bathroom is beautiful, but I had a combo tub/shower with a curtain. I hoped for something better since everything else in the hotel exceeded my expectations. Again, this is nitpicking because the bathroom is otherwise very nice.
Have stayed at the Excelsior years agoa and chose due to location. Its still as good, Bar on 34th superb and staff are excellent at looking after you, especially concierge... Rooms a little on the small side...
Excellent location. The Concierge is very helpful and efficient in advising guests where to dine and how to reach a location. None.
Harbour view room and great location bathroom l
The hotel location and the staff was very helpful, great hotel to stay with family too. None
The Excelsior is a HK landmark. The view is outstanding. The location is unbeatable. Staff always ready to help. I liked locaton and view best. Great! No free internet use in rooms nor anywhere at the hotel. Made it fall behind new design business hotels in Asia.
Room are cleans 1. I booked a king room and been told only double bed room After I mad a fuss the staff got me queen size bed... 2. I asked to extend my check out. I stayed until 7pm they charged me full fare for the night....staff totally not helpful in this concern. This hotel is a real nightmare with check in / out extension 3. No brush teeth in the bathroom. Need to ask everytime 4. Can not get a single plate delivered in the bath room 5. Need to ask a second large towell Overall very light service for a 4 stars
I have stayed at this hotel several times over the years. I stay here because of a number of reasons: Its not far from MTR, its good valuve for the money, its located in a historical part of Hong Kong, can walk to the Star Ferry, interesting shopping nearby, and I get points from the Accor chain. Staff is friendly. Its nice to be centrally located in this part of Hong Kong, lots of cool restaurants nearby.
Did not feel under pressure from the staff. They helped when I asked for help
All works well.
Excellent & Friendly staff - Nice easy transfer from the airport using the hotel shuttle bus - nice restaurant & bar area - free internet in hotel lobby - brilliant location within walking distance of star ferry pier to Kowloon - lots of good restaurants and causeway bay shopping area in close (walking) range
Room is small but ok. Breakfast is good. Receptionists never smile and seem to be unfriendly. Should change forks, spoons etc. before next dish in restaurant. Kills me when waitres with unfriendly face take dirty plate away but leave used forks and knives at the table. Not acceptably in restaurant. Not even during breakfast.
It's fantastic. Convenient and easy to travel around shopping areas and also good for business trips. Staff and hotel services are excellent. Room is very comfortable and clean. I would love to go back and stay at the hotel again. Nil.
The location is in an excellent location for a stay on Hong Kong Island. With good facilities, clean (somewhat small) rooms, it is a much more reasonably priced option than some of the grand hotels on Hong Kong Island.
Close to expo area and close to shops Did not change the bed sheets for three night's, customer disk service are roud !!
The Gym and pool and location and comfort of hotel the rooms are very small
Convenient location, good facilities, clean rooms
Though the location was reletively good, taxis are not allowed to drop off passengers at the front of the hotel! Our driver had to drop us off at the back alley. We literary lugged our luggages to the front door! I want to thank Micheal and especially Joyce for helping me to lug my luggage. Thank you Jason for explaining to me the place I had to wait for /hail a taxi. 1.Unlike other hotels, this hotel requires you to cancel 7 days beforehand. If not, you will be charged the first night. 2. They will charge the first night’s rate when you book the hotel and additional 2000HKD as a deposit when you check in. With such stringent rule, one might expect the hotel to assign good rooms for customers who booked months in advance. Sadly, it wasn't so. I was assigned a room reeked of cigarette smell by Natalie. The toilet cum bathroom is transparent and visible from the other flats/apartments that are built within arm’s length! So, the curtain has to shut permanently! When I approached Tiffany, I was told that there wasn't any room left. I was told that I could pay additional 220HKD to upgrade. The manager’s attitude was “take it or leave it!” After I commented that “You have the prerogative of treating me however you like, but I have the right to write about how I was treated here,” that they suddenly remembered that they had vacant rooms! Though my situation was rectified, it left a bitter taste in my mouth. I had to stoop so low in using my occupation and the internet to threaten the staff to get basic decent customer service! It literary marred my first day there! 3. They like to use the excuse of “it’s a bigger and more spacious room” to trick you into accepting a more “inferior” room. When they show me their “smaller” room, it was a better room, where the bathroom was not visible from other buildings! 4. Though it's near Times Square, you can forget about saving money as you will definitely pay extra to get a cab to the nearest MTR to head to the airport with your heavy luggage. This is because the Wan Chai MTR station is too far away for you to lug your luggage to while the Causeway Bay MTR station is too congested with traffic and dangerous for you to head to with your luggage. 5.
The room is really great... clean, cozy and also it has a great view of Central there! The service is nice too.
The staff at the ground floor lobby is friendly and he will recommend place to shop and eat.
It's new, so everything's clean. The beds are large and comfortable and there's free Internet access in the rooms. It's not a complaint, but the service is limited to check-in, check-out and baggage storage. There's no restaurant nor room service. However you're in a great location, so who wants to eat in the hotel?!
The cleanliness of the room & the strategic location
The hotel is very convenience, it is not far from shopping area and plenty of food shop around the hotel including fresh market where you can find fresh fruits. The noise from the street and outside the room.
Easy, efficient N/A
It was excellent they didn't exactly clean the room well
I like very much the fashion style of the room.
Very New, Very Clean A little noise from the road at night.
Staffs are not familiar in this hotel including service manager and the room condition is not the same with the information on the website.
I stayed 4 nights in total in two separate weeks. The beds were bad and so smaller than usual. I was promised a queen bed and got tiny twin beds (I am 6.5ft). The room was only ready at 2pm both stays. But the worst was the breakfast experience. I have never seen such a bad offer. This should not be called a Best Western and certainly not a 3 stars.
Reasonably priced, close to most shops and transportation. Quarters are pretty tight... rooms are pretty old. TV is barely usable, but we don't use it that much anyway
Building is too old. Room is way too small. Don't provide enough towels and restroom supplies need. Room don't clean daily.
Beds are comfy.... Had to leave because the bookings in the area and too expensive.
Staff friendly, good service, concierge knowledgeable and helpful - Champs Bar good. Walking distance of MTR, ferries and Shopping Malland loacl food markets. Rooms adequate but a bit small, likewise corridors narrow
The location is excellent, it is between two MTR stations and in a quiet location. It was quite comfortable for what it is. Needs a refurbishment and bed linen is a bit grey, old and stained.
Convenient, no fuss
I was coming out of a month of kung fu training in the Yunnan province and wanted to stay somewhere comfortable, in a good location, with a better price. Charterhouse greatly exceeded my expectations!! They were very accommodating in all categories and had by far the best hotel gym I've ever been to. I would definitely stay here for your first night getting your bearings in Hong Kong in comfort and ease. Literally nothing. For the price, there was absolutely nothing to complain about.
Hotel staff was polite, service minded and capable. Breakfast was excellent. Given the age of the hotel, the old decoration and compared to othet Hong Kong Island Hotels, the price/quality ratio is too rosy! However, the hotel was under decoration and they did it without noise! That is something!
The rain shower in the signsture room was heavenly. Location was great and handy to services. Hotel Shuttle services were prompt and luxurious. There was a late check-out offered as part of package but we weren't allowed it, also offered selection of pillows was unavailable. Room Service and Operator services were rude. Also the signature rooms, the aparent highest quaility suites, had no windows and felt like being in basement instead of 2nd floor.
Very easy to catch a night bus to the airport. Small
Freliendly staff Room smelled very very bad. Moldy damp
relatively good hotel considering it is in wanchai far from MTR.
Good value, friendly staff, nice location. Our room was right next to a room being renovated and it was VERY NOISY. Room should NOT have been sold - should have been left vacant during renovation
I stayed there on 2 occasions a few days apart first time I liked my room on the 20th floor 2nd time I stayed there I was on the 16th floor and found the room dissappointing small and the decor very tired
