Hotel newly renovated? Everything was very clean, very good beds. Nice dining room and facilities for making one's own meals. No elevator (for the 4th floor hotel), but this is under construction and should be finished by the end of October 2008
We also stayed at Premium Hostel (the floor below) but preferred Freedom. Close enough to the old city to walk (around 10 minutes), though you have to catch a tram/ bus from the train station. There is not much food or entertainment of note close to the hostel, but transport connections are good. Room was small but clean. Room was warm during the day but cooled off at night if a window to the main road was kept open. Unfortunately, the street outside can be noisy with traffic, and one night loud music and garbage trucks kept us awake. Not a social atmosphere, though a simple but sufficient breakfast (bread, selection of jams, cheese and yoghurt) is included in a common breakfast room. Walk very quickly across the nearby main road. Noise from outside the room if the window was open (it had to be as otherwise the room was hot).
Very friendly english speaking staffs. They helped me a lot. The hostel is located a little bit far from the center of the city, but 10～15 minutes by walk. Trams are also available.
A very adequate and inexpensive hostel. Ideal if you are with a group of friends who want to spend most of the time out and about, with the room just to be used to crash at night. It was very clean, well equiped and quiet. there are a lot of stairs - 5 floors up, and no lift. it is about a 20 minute walk to the town square, but there are numerous bars, shops and restaurantson the way.
silent place, close to downtown and few grocery stores very basic breakfast and horrible peach yogurts
Convenience to city center.
24hr reception, kitchen available, informal atmosphere
Friendly staff. Quiet environment. Doing the dishes after breakfast myself :)
The room was probably the cleanest i have ever stayed in. Staff were very friendly. No lift. Not normally a problem but my knees are stating to deteriorate, but i managed ok.
High standard of amenities, helpful staff, very convenient location, stayed here before,booking.com worked in reserving rooms successfully, would use it again.I would like to stay at the Freedom again but would ask for a room away from the stair well. There is a hostel below Freedom, called Premium Hostel. The noise coming up from there, teenagers running around all through the night, kept me awake. I should have said something to the night staff, but thought they would use their initiative to stop the rowdy behaviour.
Tha hostel is close to the city center. Windows without curtains. No comfortable mattresses.
The australian girls near our room. The polish ones from reception. nothing.
the room was big. there is no lift, no wi fi internet in rooms. you can connect in reception, a really small place with two chairs. although the heater was maximun it was -16ºC and the window of room left the air go inside so we were cold all night !! there is no place for people to stay so at night there are people in the corridor, in the toilets drinking and smoking...
Hotel staff was very friendly, room was clean. For its price the hotel is very good. Expensive tours round the city and nearby territories. But it's normal for the city center, so I don't think it's a big problem.
the location was not far from the town centre and from te train station there is not the lift and the room was on the third floor, it's hard to get with suitcases or backpacks.the sheets were not enough, I had to use a sheet taken from another empty bed.
It was fantastic value for money and extremely clean.
economic price, reasonable distance to the city center, internet booking internet only in the public area was very inconvenient
Value for money The staff tried to charge more than we were quoted because we didn't have confirmation printout to hand. They soon changed their minds once we advised the confirmation was on its way (my friend had this who was out at shops).
The Staff, the location and the city!
price is excellent, location is good, and it is very family orriented so that the everyday backpacker can meet new people and friends... beds and stuff were a little squeaky and the floor and the door was loud
Friendly staff, great location, newly painted rooms, CHEAP! No bar.
Hostel Dizzy Daisy is very good opportunity for young people who wants meet some foregin. Staff is very friendly, free internet for guess.
It's located very good, just in 4 minutes from the old part of the city and on in 7 minutes from the central station. The rooms are not very clean. but not absolutely dirty. The flour in the rooms creaks, so it's not very comfortable to sleep when someone wants to put their stuff somewhere.
The rooms were really clean and the staff were really friendly and helpful. It is in a great location as close to town but a quiet area during the night! Our mattresses were very thin and old and the beds old compared to other rooms in the hostel that I visited! The sheet on one bed had a big hole in it!
The room was great with all the conditions. People in the reception were very helpfull with the directions and information that we needed.
Very nice staff, pretty helpfull. nice furnitures, nice that there is kitchen and almost all that we need were there. maitress could be a little bit netter, but it is just a small thing. bathroom is pretty ok .nice neighborhood, instead of being some kind of prostitution area at night (we had this impression) we felt pretty confortable and safe and we could go to the city center pretty easy. pretty nice building also.
Very helpful staff at all times, nice to have internet provided free.Bathroom well prepared and cleanliness maintained throughout stay. Needed curtains on the window, bed sheets too small for the bed size,no mattress protector.
The staff was incredibly friendly and so helpful--especially Matt, who is the party man and helped us have a ridiculously fun time at the different clubs and bars around Main Market Square.
Fantastic service. Bathrooms and rooms were clean. Right in the heart of the city. We dont often stay in hostels but am glad we did. The only thing that lacked was the breakfast. Considering Krakow is not a city that wakes up early, it would have been nice to have breakfast but cant beat the overall positive of the hotel
location is in the old town (bit noisy though), free internet (very slow) I did not like the 8 drunken persons that spent the night in the living room of the hostal because there were no rooms left. It was not possible to have breakfast this way. A bit akward.
4 bed rooms - ideal for a hostel. Abundant breakfast. Clubs and shops very close. 2 minutes away from most attractions.
I booked a bed in a four bed dorm with ensuite and when I arrived I was sent to apts three blocks away on the 4th floor of a lonely building. They changed me back to the hostel. Good facilitles, lovely common room, kitchen and free internet. the shared showers are very clean and of a high standard. The hostel was nice but not the location of the apts
Right next to the main square. The staff were friendly and helpful. And they provided a scrumptuos breakfast every day. Plus, it isn't too big, so more of a homely feel.
bathroom was very clean some of the people that stayed there were loud, noisy and drunk and had no intentions of being silent in the middle of the night. nothing was done by the staff about it. l slept for 2 hours.
Great situation in the old town! Main market very near. Trainstation: 10 or 15 min walking. The bathrooms are cleaned several times a day. Very good welcoming, helpful staff in most cases. Super situation dans la vieille ville, à 10 min à pied de la gare et à un jet de pierre de la place principale! Toilettes et douches sont lavées constamment. Très bon accueil avec un staff serviable dans la plupart des cas. No aircondishoning. The two first nights, a small group of danish customers were drunk and had a very bad behavior, but the staff did not react so noone could sleep. Not easy to sleep well in a youth hostel by the way, especially with 6 or 10 persons in the same room...
