Fordele: Beautiful hotel with stunning surrounding area and incredibly helpful owner!

Fordele: Country atmosphere. Generous & knowledgable host. Local immersion.

Fordele: Lovingly restored 17th century cottage was everything I hoped to find. My husband and I loved it so much, we canceled our next two reservations and stayed 4 nights!! The house has been restored using as much original material as possible while still providing modern, luxurious amenities!! Property was lovely with olive trees, apple trees, terraces to walk in, and a pool with a modern pool house. It is just a couple of miles outside Ponte de Lima which is a beautiful, little town to visit. I fell in love with the place and never wanted to leave!!! Highly recommend!!!!

Ulemper: Absolutely nothing!!!

Fordele: The quietness and the beautiful surroundings of Quinta da Agra were exactly what we were looking for. Also the extreme attention to detail and the comfort of the facilities were a plus. The owner is extremely knowledgeble about the area and such a great host. We will come back soon.

Fordele: Excellent in every respect- very helpful and informative owner, beautiful gardens, lovely pool, fabulous breakfast, comfortable room, great get-away but very close to Ponte de Lima town.

Ulemper: Nothing!

Fordele: An old stone farmhouse set in vineyards beautifully restored by Pedro, the owner, in a lovely gardens with its own spring and roses growing up the wall. Room was spacious with antique furniture. Pedro and Daniela made us feel very much at home and it was hard to leave. Able to cook our own meals in their kitchen.

Ulemper: It was hard to find, but only 3km from Ponte de Lima. Light in room was low and hard to read by. No shampoo in the bathroom

Fordele: Beautiful appartment- very large rooms, kitchen, living, all traditional style like the villa itself. The owner was very kind, lots of interesting tips and advices. Breakfast was great - served in the villa in one of the amazing rooms. Historic setting everywhere. The swimming pool was excellent with a marvelous view.

Ulemper: Absolutely Nothing - we where there during the week with extreme high temp. >40°C...no air conditioning, but the owner immediately brought a nice fan...all well and good sleep...the villa itself remains very cool due to the 1mtr thick walls.

Fordele: A beautifully restored historic stately home. Rooms are very spacious and tastefully decorated in the traditional style making them most attractive and comfortable. Spotlessly clean and close to the charming town of Ponte de Lima. Lovely continental breakfast in the dining room which adjoins lounge. Our host Tristan was most welcoming and shared lots of local knowledge Staying here was a real treat.

Fordele: Beautiful 18th century baroque style manor house on a splendid location; comfortable nice furnished rooms; great hospitality; the owner can give very good recommendations for local restaurants.

Ulemper: Nothing.

Ulemper: Dump room climate, bad breakfast, pool in a really bad condition

Fordele: The very friendly owner welcomed us with a drink. The beautifully located pool could be used at any time, even late at night. Breakfast was included and rich. The apartment with two bedrooms, a spacious kitchen and a terrace was perfect for our family with two teenagers.

Fordele: Beautiful mansion with splendid view over the valley. Lovely breakfast in stylish room. Tristao was a very friendly host who gave us some helpful advices.

Ulemper: Not a big issue but the bathrooms in the apartment could do with an upgrade.

Fordele: Very nice helpful owner.

Ulemper: Our cottage overlooked a very noisy house where a man mended his car all weekend with the radio on full blast. The cottage bathroom needed updating with new shower curtains etc. The wifi was not available in the majority of the guest areas.

Fordele: Amazing host, beautiful and historically interesting rooms, swimming pool, the view from the terrace.

Fordele: Breakfast was set in an elegant dining room. It was a traditional Portuguese breakfast with freshly squeezed Orange Juice from the garden.

Fordele: The place is amazing! The atmosphere, the nature, the owner and his family. A small city Ponte de Lima is in 15 min driving is also very nice, there are some good restaurants.

Fordele: Room had a fabulous view. Antique furniture was a bonus

Ulemper: Bed was very squeaky! Shower needed upgrading. Bath slow to fill. No wi fi in bedroom ( due I think to very thick granite walls )

Fordele: The best place! Great house, very nice host! incredible experience!

Fordele: The palace is extremely well restored and surrounded by beautiful scenery. It’s very tranquil and has the added bonus of a swimming pool with views to die for, agricultural fields and farm animals which the kids love, a creek, a few ponds and a chestnut grove. The owners were very welcoming. The breakfast is delicious. The bedrooms and bathrooms are comfortable and traditional and in keep with the palace. No need for modern luxuries and TVs when you are in such a place! Ponte de Lima is only 10 minutes away. We will definitely come back one day!!

Fordele: Beautiful property in a stunning setting with THE most helpful people around us. Could not have asked for anything more.

Fordele: Beautiful historic manor house with extensive gardens. We were greeted by the Count whose family has owned this property for centuries. He took us, and a group of walkers who arrive on the same day,on a tour of the house and hosted us for a dinner in his dinig room.

Ulemper: nothing

Fordele: Lovely castle, garden and owner.

Fordele: A hidden treasure. A count's estate that's been in the family for 700 years. Very well maintained. Super friendly staff. A bit out of the way but the gardens and views make up for it

Fordele: very nice garden, very quiet but close enough to the centre.

Fordele: Everything is superb in this beautiful country house, which is quite close to the village historical centre. Staff is very smiley, facilities are clean, the pool area is delightful and breakfast is a plus. The room is more like a small independent house. It's charming and comfortable. One can notice the care in every detail. There was fruit and wine available in the room. Lovely getaway.

Fordele: Fantastic place and the owners were very helpful. Lovely setting and grounds. Highly recommend it

Fordele: Magnificent property with fantastic attention to detail. Phenomenal massage, breakfast and dinner. The staff was exquisite and incredibly accommodating. Thank you for a great stay.

Fordele: Restaurant is very nice, you have to book upfront, not a la carte but menu has plenty of choices so you always find something.

Ulemper: Wifi at the pool is poor for a luxury hotel

Fordele: Well presented breakfast and dinner. Welcome drink on terrace.

Ulemper: Frusty (damp musty) strong smell in bedroom, reported but not much improvement second night. Loud ‘corporate’ type large gathering for dinner on first night.

Fordele: Not a lot of choice, would have preferred to be asked how we would like eggs/bacon cooking not pre cooked. Welcome drink very nice and the girls who served us were lovely and friendly. Prompt response to a couple of problems in our room at night - many thanks. The room was amazing! No:5.

Ulemper: The Spa area was lacking, maybe a little light music, candles and staff as the pools were covered and no one was around to help. Upon arrival we were not explained to how things worked - ie: drinks, spa, tours available.

Fordele: Beautifully designed, good breakfast, nice garden

Ulemper: The staff were overbearing & it was uncomfortable to be studied as you are/moved!

Fordele: Loved the environment! It was aesthetically pleasing and exuded comfort! The staff is incredibly helpful and attentive!

Fordele: Relaxed environment. Breakfast is good and staff is friendly. The interior pool, though small, is nice and good for winter trips.

Ulemper: Really overpriced. It is a hotel by a national road with traffic. Small entrance, massive ramp to climb up to reception. The decoration is kitsch, cheesy, excessive. The room in underwhelming. The whole area planning seems off and strange and slightly too small and crowded. Oddly there is a small area with a lonely poney.

Fordele: Ignazio and Anna were very welcoming and the contact with them was super warm-hearted. The guesthouse is in the middle of a vineyard on a small hill from where we had a stunning view. Breakfast was varied, with homemade cakes and fruits. There are many places in and around the house to relax and it is a good starting point to visit Ponte de Lima, Viana do Castelo and the National Park of Peneda-Gerês.

Fordele: It was one of the best spots we have ever stayed. Amazingly relaxed, in a 17th century family run manor house. We were blessed to be only guests for 6 days. Old classic style. Landlord and spouse made us feel at home. Every morning had amazing breakfast with stunning valley view. Fantastic pool to chill and relax. For dinner Ponte de Lima or Barca do Lima each 9km away.

Ulemper: all was perfect

Fordele: Morgenmaden var ok. Stedet var beliggende i et roligt og smukt miljø med vinplanter og lignende. Bygningen emmede af historie fra 1700 tallet og værten var efterkommer fra 7. generation. Vi nød atmosfæren, freden og idyllen og der var kun 2 km. til landsbyen, hvor man kunne købe hvad man manglede eller en god restauration

Fordele: Great location for walking the Camino. Good breakfast. Clean room.

Fordele: Everything you need for a comfortable stay. Close to the action with a view of the old Roman Bridge. Friendly staff, clean air-conditioned rooms and great value for money.

Fordele: You can’t beat the view of the Ponte de Lima bridge and the city. Very good breakfast.

Ulemper: Our room had a black color scheme, which is OK, but a shortage of lighting made it very dark. I wouldn’t call it rundown, but a few small things needed repair. We expected a little better for the price we paid in the mid-70s.

Fordele: Staff, room quality, view

Fordele: The staff was very helpful. I needed to do laundry while I was and they arranged a taxi to/from the laundromat. I was walking the Camino and didn’t have time for them to do it for me.

Ulemper: It was all good.

Fordele: A modern, clean room with an incredible view looking across the bridge. There was also a nice Outside sitting area with chairs and table. The breakfast was above average.

Fordele: Beautifully situated just outside town,this is a tastily restored manor house in landscaped grounds with a fine swimming pool and an outstanding breakfast in an elegant room.

Ulemper: Challenging to find as on unmarked rural road. Toilet wouldn’t flush (old infrastructure)

Fordele: An amazing 18 century "Parador" wonderful views and an enormous pool. A vineyard & orchard to pick your own fruit and a breakfast served by our ever helpful hostess Lourdes, which was truly unforgettably excellent. This is a place you will never forget . Don't miss it!

Ulemper: leaving

Fordele: The property is huge and lovely with plenty of charm the breakfast is really good with scrambled eggs, fresh OJ, home made jams, cheese... The pool is fabulous

Ulemper: I asked for twin beds after booking the room and the room I had was way smaller than the one expected. If I had known that, I would have kept the double bed because the room was quite small and basic so it was a bit disappointing compared to the pictures I saw.

Fordele: Incredible setting with fantastic views, a wonderful swimming pool, and close by to Ponte de Lima. Both staff and other guests friendly but discreet. A great breakfast in a sunny room, with fruit, yoghurt, bread and pastries, excellent home-made jam, cereals, eggs and bacon, coffee and orange juice.

Ulemper: The beds are a bit small and not that comfortable. WiFi was dodgy, despite having wifi extenders in the rooms in which we stayed. That's a just a configuraion issue, not difficult to clearup. The biggest disappointment was not being offered some kind of dinner option, which meant we had to either eat out or keep purchases in the noisy fridge in tyhe room. A larger fridge in a common area would be a better option.

Fordele: The grounds were spectacular, the views of the lake , orchards, vineyards, swimming pool and statuary were amazing, the manor and the guest rooms were beautiful snd impeccably decorated, The staff were extremely helpful and hospitable. Breakfast was the best we have had on our travels through Portugal.

Ulemper: The mattresses were too firm.A beautiful propert

Fordele: Dona Lurdes is the Soul of this places. Restlessly she cares for everyones wellbeing ! For breakfast guests might enjoy her Homemade marmelades and cakes ! Loved this place !

Fordele: It had a wonderful “old” feel to it and gorgeous pool with surrounding garden.

Ulemper: Very remote. Not close to any restaurants, staff didn’t speak any English, consult offer us any dinner after a long day on Camino. Breakfast was very basic. Very overpriced.

Fordele: A fabulously restored rural property set in a beautiful green and lush estate. Very peaceful and tranquil, as was our host, Victor, who really looked after us.

Fordele: The quiet, the amount of different things to do ( outside pool, inside pool, a lake with boats, tennis court, climbing, or just relax. The house as a little kitchen and the bathroom is very good, the beds also very nice.

Ulemper: The parking space is outside the walls, but there is alot of space even a heliport if you need one :D.

Fordele: Friendly staff

Ulemper: Eggs not available at 10 oclock breakfast time

Fordele: Breakfast was good and hotel accommodated me being gluten free. Great location in Ponte de Lima; nice clean room with comfortable bed and outside balcony and seating area.

Ulemper: Would have expected more spacious seating or comfortable lounge area downstairs; room was a little worn out, some nice touches like a bottle of water in the room would have been appreciated.

Ulemper: Breakfast could be earlier, for those who are working

Fordele: The staffs are very helpful and professional even though two of them were very new staffs. Rooms are spacious and it have big balcony with garden view. Parking is free. Food selection is limited in hotel but was good.

Fordele: The breakfast and the cleanliess

Fordele: The staff were attentive but not intrusive. Breakfast was ample with a good choice of foods. The bedroom was very clean, although the bath a little tired.

Ulemper: No view from our room. The lounge, bar area was unattractive in comparison to the dining area-so we tended to go to our rooms after an evening meal.

Fordele: It was an excellent hotel linked to the golf course. The food served in the golf club was very good.

Ulemper: We had trouble finding it!

Ulemper: bathroom was leaking water from shower, whole floor was wet.very poor bar service. no expresso cafe at breakfast(was asked for extra charge). tv service very poor with few channels very noisy room with twin beds event tough i asked double bed and quiet room. cockroaches in pool vlockers.surely not worth the 75€/night
