Words can not say enough, being from Dubai i have been spoilt with staying in some great hotels here in Dubai, how ever, the hotel Rome Cavalieri is at the top of my list for Europe, everything was great, as i say words can not say enought supurb and well done to all the staff at the hotel
If this hotel was anywhere else but in Rome, you would consider it old and run down. The furniture in the guest rooms is ancient and the decore is very tacky. They are trying to go for some "original decore" look, but unless they want to tell me that Julius Caesar stayed there himself it's not working. The furniture in the guest rooms are not "antiques"; they are just old.... Sadly I'm not sure there's much better in Rome. The city seems to get away with never having to remodel, update, or provide any amenities under the disguise of being "authentic." Their "concierge" is useless. Other than showing you a map of the city and telling you how to get to the Vatican, they cannot/will not do anything to actually help you. They are really just untrained and glorified bellmen. Not what you would expect from a purported "luxury" hotel. Finally, they seem to think that using the pool is an optional amenity. There's a charge if you want to sit anywhere by the pool. Chairs and beds are not free. What mutil-star hotel charge to use their pool??? That's the stupidest thing. The result is that everyone is forced to sit in a circle around the edge of the pool or to lay down on the concrete.
Staff was excellent Location
The piano in the bar is fine when there is a pianoplayer around. Friendly staff and no more minibar inside the rooms is a much better solution. The internet prices were outraging high. A better solution is to get a free ticket for 15 minutes as in other hotels. Or at least the possibility to purchase a ticket per hour or two or three hours that does not expire when logging off.
The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was very good. The hotel and rooms were very clean, too.
Cozy/comfortable environment but quite far from the City. Staff are courteous, good and helpful. Hotel rate is ok, but taxi fares are too expensive. The hotel is also clean. Some utilities are not given in sets or in two's for double occupants. For examples, shampoo was given in two's yesterday, but today, only one shampoo was given. Also, one lotion was given today, then on the next day there were two. It happened also on the cleansers. I really don't know if it is the hotel's regulations. If it is, it's ok with us. Also, breakfast has limited choices. There were no meats served like hotdogs/sausages, hams were not cooked. Sometimes, utensils were lacking or insufficient for other guests. Please don't use plastic or disposable glasses. Further, the coffee and juice dispensers broke down.
The stuff spoke good Engish and they were frinedly very clean and new room excelent breakfast! none
The friendliness of the front desk staff, always very courteous and helpful. We had a wrap around balcony overlooking a park, the best part of the stay. While the hotel is located close to a metro running into Rome, the service was suspended one morning because of a strike. That of course is not the hotel's fault, but nonetheless very inconvenient. The hotel was located in a rundown area and was practically impossible to find even with directions. The room was tacky at best and very expensive for what we did not have. The shower was actually funny. Only people under 100 lbs. could get into it with any success. The fridge did not function at all, and the TV had to be switched because it would not work either. There were MANY kids!
