Ulemper: "First, they announced that they need some passengers to voluntarily give up the booking in exchange for 280 refunds (a slightly higher rate which not worth to do it) and 1 stopover the fight to Rome which will arrive at 22.00 instead (our flight is 17.35). About 15 minutes before boarding time, they announced flight delaying. Around 17.45, they announced gate changing from B to A which located at opposite side of the the airport so all passengers run there because of everyone afraid that their booking might be canceled because no one agrees to give up. At both gates, many people try to jump in the queue which no staff comes in the manage the queue. During waiting on the board, the air condition seems to be closed, hard to breathe. Around 19.00, the plane took off the Zurich airport eventually, finish the 1.5 hours delay. The captain announced that it cause by the technical problem of the flight earlier but my thinking it cause from over-booking."

Ulemper: "The airline changed a seat reservation after I paid for it. The Swiss support staff told me on the phone they would call me back. They never called back. I called again and was told the seats are changed and I can’t do anything anymore. The return flight seats also disappeared from the reservation. I had also paid for it. The support staff when I called again put back the seats for my return flight. I tried to check in online. Not working. Tried at least 50 times. Not working. Called the support staff. They told me to call the check in support center. I called the check in support center at least 50 times where mi was told the staff are busy and could not answer the call. I called at 6:00am next day where I was told by the check in support staff that my ticket had an issue which they did not know exactly what was the issue but prevented me to do a check in. I drove more than 2 hours to the airport where finally I could check in but I was told that my return flight seats had disappeared again. They managed to put them back again. I hope this time it’s finally ok. The support staff on the phone told me I could get reimbursed for the seat reservation I had paid for for the on going flight. The Swiss staff at the airport told me there would be no refund. Swiss is terrible"
Fordele: "We flew Miami to Zurich, then Zurich to Rome. The international leg was awesome. The intra-European flight was less impressive. We “self-boarded” which was new to us - and wasn’t explained. The seats were smaller and there was only the drop down screens for every 2-3 rows, but otherwise, for a less than 2 hr flight, it was fine."
Ulemper: "Boarding wasn’t fully explained for those of us who are not Swiss or German. I slept thru “lunch,” which apparently was a sandwich - but that’s more than many American airlines provide you on similar flights!"
Fordele: "Swiss Air is very nice, planes are clean, snacks on board were fantastic!"
Ulemper: "Why the ridiculous amount of money to check a small bag? For this reason, I would not fly Swiss Air. My fancy sandwich was not worth CHF 50."

Ulemper: "We had a family of four sitting behind us. The father yelled all the time. They took up four overhead bins and he was frequently up and down getting things out of the bins. His very hairy large belly was touching my daughters head every time. He and his children punched the backs of our seats on a regular basis. My back was in constant pain and I was unable to do very many things due to the back pain during my "vacation", The flight attendants had to remind the parents that their children could not stand on the seats during takeoff or crawl around under the seats. No ability to change seats or I would have. I didn't have a problem with the other children on the flight, when they were crying their parents tried to do something. However these people brought playdough for their child to roll out or punch on the seat tray and all they did was constantly yell loudly at their children, Well not about the kicking, punching, or crawling around. Just yell in general at them."

Ulemper: "This was the most uncomfortable flight I've ever experienced. The seats were so narrow, there was absolutely no legroom, and when the seat in front of me was reclined I had even less space. For an overnight flight, it was ridiculous. The planes for the short one hour trip from Zurich to Florence were more comfortable. The food was tasteless and very artificial in its appearance and taste. Inedible."

Fordele: "I request tow time for Hindu vegi 1st when I booked and 2nd one day befor my departure with costumer service and they confirm because last tme i flue in outher airline and i had same problem and i hard good things about Swiss air but I was very unhappy and dicipoint in my flight they told me they didn't have eany information for my special .request For my bussness i fly two times a year to India next time lam not suor I will fly with Swiss air"

Fordele: "The food on the airline is good. Entertainment system has many movies to watch. The boarding system from Istanbul is a Nightmare!"
Ulemper: "Once I asked the air hostess for a sandwich, i was really hungry, she said she would have to walk to back of plane and they would be serving food in 15 minutes. After 45 minutes I went back to ask for a sandwich and handed me a tray of meal and said to eat this."
Fordele: "Rapidly becoming my airline of choice. Great service, comfortable and on time. Relatively new fleet and not cramped. Puts other national carriers (including BA) to shame"

Ulemper: "The counter could not find my reservation a d they said because i booked online i had to go to another counter and then back to check in. It was pretty stressful"
Fordele: "Turkish Airlines er normalt, som samlet pakke min favorit, men når indtjekning vælger at sætte 2 voksne mænd på sæder ved nødudgangen der kun er ca. 75% i størrelse af normle (små) sæder, så er 3½ time til Istanbul en lang sammenklemt oplevelse."

Fordele: "The seats are not as luxurious as the international. They do not recline that much and are not pods. No surprise as that is similar to the US. But it was only a 3 hour flight so was fine. Food was same as first trip, solid.. Staff was very friendly."
Ulemper: "Flight was delayed 2.5 hours. They did not communicate at all the reason. Takeoff was supposed to be 8.30pm, didn’t take off until 11pm. Sat on the tarmac for over an hour and the crew or pilot did not say a word. The beverage service again was lacking compared to other international business class flights I’ve taken."
Fordele: "Seat space continued to be better than BA. Nice surprise to get an evening meal on the last leg to Rome. I actually was able to sleep a bit on this smaller airplane as well. Crew went out of its way to help people board and load bags overhead. They seemed very attentive, and tried to provide extra drink options even."
Ulemper: "Boarding process at IST was a challenge. We left from a remote gate, and the agent didn't seem interested in the boarding process. I heard no announcements, maybe because it didn't matter as everyone was crowding the door 15 minutes before boarding began. The agent seemed perturbed, but I've seen it on almost every Italian bound flight. No one wants to wait. It is actually a bit amusing to watch the struggle between boarding policies and a group of people who seem determined to ignore them. The buses were also pretty well packed. More so in Rome than IST. Not much organization in loading at either place. After all the passport control they left us to walk outside to wait for the bus. Maybe you can tell I'm not a fan of remote gates."
Ulemper: "The seat pocket of the seat in front of me was broken, which resulted in a metal wire poking into my legs for the entire duration of the flight. Not only was it uncomfortable and bordering on painful; but this could also potentially be dangerous in the event of an emergency!!!"
Ulemper: "On our longest flight, we were put in a cramped plane with no entertainment systems. It's sad to see a company that has such potential blowing it with these sort of cost saving/ customer losing choices. Please upgrade your fleet to stay competitive with your surrounding competition!"

Fordele: "Staff at Istanbul Airport kindly re-opened the gate for late passengers due to unexpected delays of preceding Turkish Airlines flights. Otherwise, I must have missed the flight from Istanbul to Rome."

Fordele: "All aspects of the flight were flawless. Lounge in IST is always a great addition."

Ulemper: " and service. The airlines also Lost our bags...and till today cannot trace or find it. Went on a cruise with 2 pairs of clothes. How does an airline give a bag tag to a passenger without putting it in the bag???? 12 days and no bags.... terrible call center service too no help at all."

Ulemper: "LAX to IST. too many Arabs and pucking Muslims, Please teach them how to behave, bustards, Otherwise I love to guys and girls, Numero uno airline forever, minus hard core Muslims, we do not need them on the board."

Fordele: "Like my trip to Istanbul, I had no complaints. It was easy to make my transition to this flight and boarding was fine and once again the crew were friendly and welcoming. The short 2 1/2 hour flight went well."

Ulemper: "My flight was cancelled ten days prior to departure. Nothing to do with weather. Without my permission they, booked my return flight with a 20 hour layover in Istanbul airport. I had to buy a new ticket home on a different airline. Waiting for a refund which currently seems impossible."
Ulemper: "Their audio system is very bad."
Fordele: "They were out of the chicken in meal even before they got to a quarter of people. They did neither had an option of vegetarian diet. So basically you cannot eat anything but the sandwiches if you don't eat beef."
Fordele: "Plane was nice. Crew was very nice."
Ulemper: "The plane was blazing hot. The in flight entertainment system was down for half the flight."
Ulemper: "We boarded on time but the flight didn't leave for another 45 minutes or so. This made me miss my next flight when I landed in Instanbul. I think they might have been doing extra checks on the plane so it's fine. Even though I missed my flight and it was out of my control, I was able get another flight within 5 hours and free of charge!"
Fordele: "Service and food were very good, so happy to be fed and watered even though it was a short flight, really pleasant surprise."
Ulemper: "The wait to go through security when we got to Rome, but I dont think the airline was the cause of that."
Fordele: "Flights attendants very nice, offered full meal if hungry"
Ulemper: "Paid to upgrade to business/first class and still was given a seat in economy. I don't mind economy as I sit in economy often but this time I paid extra money to be up front and they did not consider that."

Ulemper: "They boarded late and you had to take a shuttle to the plan. We drove to the plane and waited for 15 minutes in the cramped shuttle while they were putting another staircase to the plane and finishing prepping it. We left a half an hour late and the flight was already at 10pm. It was a pretty terrible experience! And the section of the Istanbul airport we were in was pretty dirty. Also the movie they played had two language options but no English which was disappointing."

Ulemper: "Lufthansa burde presse lufthavnen i Frankfurt til at ge bemanding imsilkerhedskonteollen. Kl 6.10 i morges tog det 35 min i business køen og mindst 50 mini economy køen"
Fordele: "flyturen i sig selv var fin men var forsinket."
Ulemper: "Flyet var forsinket så jeg missede forbindelsen til CPH i Frankfurt. Det kan ske. Blev omboket til tidligt fly næste morgen. Sådan måtte det jo så være. Men at skulle stå i kø som business pasager i 55 min for at få hotelvoucher og nyt boardingpass var for meget. Economy havde endnu længere kø. Skikkerhedstjek næste morgen i Frankfurt tog 35 min for business og op mod 1t for economy!"
Ulemper: "This Lufthansa flight was operated by United Airlines. Coach seating was uncomfortable after a couple hours despite moving around regularly."
Fordele: "Reliable airline."
Ulemper: "Overly strict on luggage size and weight. I’m talking about 0.1 kg difference. I was attempted twice to check the only small case I have, which is an exact fit to Lufthansa standard. Very annoying. Won’t fly LH again. British Airways is a lot better."

Ulemper: "Communication on which luggage carousel our luggage was going to be on. The screen said, carousel 11 when in actuality, it was carousel 10. Very confusing...and caused me a delay. That’s the only frustration in the entire trip so far."
Fordele: "The airline staff was great. Everyone really helpful."
Fordele: "1st Class is a joke. They leave the middle coach seat vacant. You do have more overhead storage since there are fewer people in "1st Class". Otherwise you may as well be in coach. For flights within Europe this appears to be the standard. Save you money fly coach when traveling within Europe."

Ulemper: "You take a bus to reach the plane and the seats are uncomfortable without any entertainment systems. Thankfully the flight was only 1.5 hours."

Fordele: "The engagement of the crew. The coffee and cake. The attendant offered to help me with my bag to the door of the aircraft. The same attendant remembered to give me coffee later and provided the stir stick just as I was able ask for one. I felt cared for."

Ulemper: "The Frankfort airport is a nightmare. They have loooooooong gateways, so when I Finally got through security FOR THE THIRD TIME, it’s a 10 minute, speed-walk to the gate. Again, a flight delay was the only thing that made the connection possible. I made it to the gate with 3 minutes to spare, so no time for the bathroom, no time to get lunch or even a bottle of water, no time period. And at the end of it all, my bag is lost."

Ulemper: "Not only was the flight delayed, but there was confusion at the gate for boarding of even first or business class. We had to carry our luggage down 2 flights of stairs to get on a bus, which then transported us a very long ways away on the tarmac. Then it was an older model plane and the engine noise, even though we were up front, was extremely loud! It was somewhat worrisome. The food was terrible and by the end of the 90 minute flight our rears were sore from the poor seat cushioning. Not a good experience at all. All of this was after a terrible experience and delay just trying to connect flights within the German airport and the security delays that probably would have made us lose our flight if it wasn't delayed. There needs to be a better system if you are not staying in Germany but just connecting flights from the same airline!"

Fordele: "I have used Kayak for years without issue. This time I was flying SAS for the first time. The plane broke and so that was the first huge delay SAS had terrible customer service. They reminded me several times that I was not a preferred customer and that I had bought my ticket through kayak. This is the reason they gave for lack of help. It was frustrating to say the least. I’m not sure how they expect to gain repeat customers if they treat first time customers like that."

If SAS was running so many international flights, they should have shifted the layer over, since many people were taking connecting flights for Oslo to Manchester. No food, there should have at least been a snack or at a minimum offered water."

I finally emailed vayamas/kayak to cancel and 5 days later received a reply that there was no cancellation refund. Apparently Kayak provides a no communication/no refund policy. My travel companion had the opposite experience with Expedia."

Forøvrigt glad for jeg ikke havde indløst business på denne tur da det i grunden havde været at betalte dobbelt for forventelig komfort på en moderne SAS Plus."

Ulemper: "NO FOOD, NO DRINK unless you either bring your own (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED) or don't mind purchasing a 12oz can of Coke for three Euros. If I were to travel again with them, I'd pack a bigger lunch and more water/soda for myself to save some cost. Even if purchased in the terminal."

Ulemper: "Being told you have to pay for every meal prior to the flight and you don’t even get complimentary water, earphones or anything.... for an over 8 hr flight it was very un accommodating."

I was promised 1st class service even though I was downgraded but I had to argue with the flight attendants to get the premium meals. The gate agent claims that this is std and happens daily. She promised that the crew is notified about this stuff and I would be taken care of. What a load of bull. They also claim that I’ll receive a 75% refund on my ticket. I’m not going to hold my breath waiting. My wife and I travel business class all over the world and this is the absolute worst experience I’ve ever had."

Ulemper: "The air conditioning was very weak. I was hot through the whole flight. The TVs didn’t work. There wasn’t anything to watch."
Fordele: "Service, seating and amenities were great."
Ulemper: "We asked a worker at the self checkin kiosk if the seats my wife and I were assigned were next to each other, and the worker told us they were. They actually weren't, so I had to ask another passenger if she would switch seats with me. This was especially annoying since I supposedly paid an extra $30 to get seats together. Boarding process was the only other negative. The line was not organized or supervised in any way. Group A was called and then very shortly after, while people in A were still lining up, group B was also called. People from group B just piled in toward the front of the line and many group B passengers boarded before group A. In the end, boarding groups didn't matter at all because you all just crammed into a bus together and the last people on the bus were the first to get off and board the plane anyway."

Bottom line: I’ll buy a more expensive ticket on a traditional carrier from now on"
