Very helpful staff and excellent service. Good in-room facilities. Air conditioning a real bonus. Only limitation was a lack of a safe in reception large enough to take a laptop.
Hotel in an excellant position - Ideal for the various boat trips, shops and a lovely harbour location together with all the street entertainment. Unfortunately there was an undesirable fishy smell in the lobby and lift areas which obviously eminates from the fish resteraunt next door.
Very well placed, central hotel with plenty to see and do on the doorstep. Helpful staff, clean rooms (basic but comfortable), booked a triple room and got 2 interconnected doubles for same price which was good. Would book again for city break. Some rooms and shared areas looked dark and pokey.
the location was excellent..the room was quite .....a good hotel in a beautiful city, but not for a week room was basic...no wardrobe..compact if not small rooms
Wonderful location. Great food area. Horrific "free" internet service.
Location is the best we have ever tried. In the middle of everything.
Close to the market place and all cognac factories. And good value for the moiney. Cheap roomprice. Too small room and toiletroom.
Off road parking for motorcycle. Very friendly staff. Extra charge for motorcyle. Very poor breakfast.
Conveniently located between the station and the old town to permit exploation on foot during an enforced overnight stop due to there being no available flight on saturday.
This was a repeat visit and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. We had a lovely room and the breakfast selection was excellent. not applicable everything was fine
good location could improve breakfast good secure parkig breakfast
Location Small room
Large rooms, good location, nice terrace and decor.
I liked te friendly welcome te breakfast and te blue colourin of decoradtions and i liked te proximity to te railway and bus stations it would advde been nice to adve add tea madkin facilities in te rooms adnd te front steps need ad repair
the staff were very helpful, the hotel is ideally situated to explore La Rochelle and the car boot sale on saturday morning in the adjacent park was full of treasures! Value for money
The location was very central, staff helpful, good room, breakfast fine coffee / teamaking facilities would improve the stay
Superb location, very friendly family run hotel, crisp, clean, comfortable rooms. A great starting point to enjoy La Rochelle from and we would definitely stay at Un Hotel en Ville again. Highly recommended. Due to location parking is limited but public parking in front of the hotel is available. A consideration rather than a problem as we didn't have problems finding a space each day.
Excellent breakfast and very friendly and helpful owner. The room was a little small for two people though adequate the a two night stay
It was clean , Great location .The Hotel is very tastefully done , modern breakfast was available, the staff were very pleasant . The room was to small , no wardrobe , no soap , shower cap or shower gel (although i did ask for a shower gel and got one) , it was noisy .We felt that the room was just to small and for 2 days it was ok but i wouldn`t go for a week or two .
Very helpful and friendly owners None
The hotel was small, yet stylish. The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful.
Great location ..A little difficult to find...New Hotel very clean and comfortable..Good breakfast and really nice owners..
Stayed in this hotel for 3 nights at the beginning of october and had a fantastic time. what a cute little hotel! It's in a perfect location and everything you will want to enjoy on a short city break in la rochelle is literally right around the corner...2minute walk to the vieux port, 20 sec walk to some of la rochelle's best restaurants, 10min walk to place du verdun. room was quite compact but beautifully decorated and a very comfortable bed. the staff were lovely and very welcoming. what I liked most was that everything was immaculately clean, oh and the beautiful rooftop terrace. I would definitely reccommend this wee hotel very highly and encourage anyone going to la rochelle for a short break to stay there! I have very little to complain about here. the only thing I didn't enjoy was that our toilet was in a seperate room to the wash basin/shower room and you have to bend down every time you walk into the bedroom because the entrance is very low.(i'm only 5.1" so I just made it)
We had a lovely stay at Hotel en Ville- will definitely be back-its 2 minutes from the towers- and in a lovely quiet area too- the best of both worlds. It seems a lot of thought was put in to the decor etc- simple but we really liked it. Only thing I wasnt keen on was the ensuite- sliding door doesnt give a lot of privacy- but this was only a small thing and otherwise we couldn't fault the hotel
Easy to find, car park straight outside front door, good value excellent location close to bars restaurants etc but set back in a quiet square.
Good position, easy walk to all sites.Well refurbished, clean and spacious rooms. Near Aquarium with handy parking. Fantastic triple glazing...no sound from outside. Well pleased.
The convenient location close to the old section of town and the promonard/port and seaside.
reasonable basic hotel in a good location.
Hotel recently redecorated in chic neutrals, comfortable, clean, very close to port and town centre. Choice of breakfast or just coffee and croissant. Double windows keep out street noise but then stuffy as no aircon. Dodgy hips avoid 3rd floor as no lift.
Very good location close to old port and shops/restaurants. The hotel has very recently been refurbished and so is very clean and fresh. Proprietors are friendly and breakfast good value.
Excellent location, helpful staff, close to free parking, a lot of cafe/restaurants in proximity. Very good view for old port. Calm and quite. No lift - might be a problem if you have heavy luggage.
The hotel was right in the centre of the old town
Location, location, location! The hotel wasn't anything special but you would be foolish to spend much time in there anyway with all the beautiful surroundings.
Very convenient for the centre of the town, attractive Old Port, market and bus station. No complaints
Location. In city centre overlooking the harbour area. The facilities were basic but room was clean, it is a 2 star hotel. No lift for third and fourth floors.
Very good location
Location for ease of access to all areas of the town
None Over-priced and very noisey at night.
The location worked beautifully. Staff was friendly. It is very loud at front but needed to keep windows open for ventilation, and the shower water temperature fluctuated dramatically.
Location, step out the door and you are in the heart of La Rochelle. Parking is well away from hotel, basic rooms and as it is very limited size inside there are no lifts to get to the rooms. If you are in any way restricted climbing stairs then this hotel is definately off your list.
Location is fantastic There is a very noisy bar next to the hotel - not the hotel's fault, but noise until 3 / 4am
the welcome arrival is great by giving us such good info about the place and accommodating nothing!!!!!
Kindly staff, nice location for sightseeing nothing
Excellent and friendly service including late check in and allowing bags to be kept after check out. Clean and recently upgraded , bed very comfortable. Very central, delightful old hotel. None
My stay was relatively so short, that I feel I am unable to make a correct assessment. Lack of facility to have a coffee in house was felt badly.
The daytime and evening reception staff were very nice to interact with and the house maid was very polite and made you feel very comfortable to be leaving your luggage with while she was cleaning the room. When there was a misunderstanding or mix up the person who gave the impretion of being in charge gave a brief word and decided to leave rather than keeping near by making you feel more like a valued customer.
Nice view from the room, nice location Lots of noise
Excellent central position overlooking the harbour. Harbour view rooms have small balcony and are worth the extra.
location of the hotel was really good with really nice views room really needed updating, thought breakfast was expensive
At the heart of the town with a beautiful view of the old port.
Perfect central location, just in the middle of everything, perfect view from the room, free working WiFi, clean rooms, fast check-in/check-out.
The rooms are clean. Good loacation. In front of the old harbour and very close to the heart of the old town. There is a bike rental service just in front of the hotel. A little bit loud at night, specially on weekends due to its location in front of the old harbour where many bars and terraces are.
The location was great right in the old town and near to lots of bars and restaurants and an easy walk to the bus station and shops. We had a good view of the port from our little balcony and the staff were friendly. The hotel was described on the website as 3 star but only 2.The decor was shabby and the bathroom was tiny and rooms small. No hairdryer or minibar. Not good value for money. We had a superior double so I would hate to think what an ordinary room is like, though they did listen to my requst for a nice view. There was lots of noise from louts and drunks around the port till 5am.
The location of this hotel is outstanding. Our room was very well soundproofed so you had the benefit of the views without the noise at night. The bathrom facilities were very cramped and the room really needs air conditioning as the alternative is to open the window which then makes it noisy
