Great location and staff was friendly and attentive to our requests. The "perks" of staying at the hotel has diminished since we were last there - which was about a year ago. There were complimentary drinks and light snacks for our entire stay last time. Just one complimentary drink this time.
We were greeted very warmly by counter staff and was checked in quickly and efficiently. Valet parking was also taken care of quickly upon check-in and check-out. The complimentary welcome drinks were a nice touch.
very attentive staff especially at the reception desk.bar/resturant very lively with excellent food and drinks.
This hotel was one of the loveliest travel experiences I've ever had, and I've been all around the world. The hotel is gorgeous - the restaurants, spa, and especially bedroom were first class. The staff was beyond friendly, and helped with everything from booking reservations at restaurants, to scheduling hair appointments, to taking my sister to the emergency room when she got sick. Five stars
The canadian breakfast is excellent, the location in the old town The rooms are really dark, the room was cleaned poorly
we enjoyed the welcome wine and cheese, the morning breakfast, the terrace and watching the fireworks, the beautiful suite, the chocolates, the car parking service, the fine soaps, shampoos, etc, the music playing int he room when we arrived, the disco music in th evening in 701 the room numbering was a bit strange, we had to walk through what looked to be a service corridor to get to the elevator to our room...I think that we should have been asked whether or not we wanted a staff member to enter our room in our absence to turn down the bed.one of the internets was out of service
Lovely building and room. Food and music was great. Hard to find the location. Was put on hold several times when calling on cell phone to find hotel.
Excellent location in the old town of Montreal, able to walk everywhere.Large , comfortable room, good complimentary breakfast and cheese and wine offered in the evening. Would most certainly recommend this hotel. Staff were very helpful. Room was a little dark, lights were needed at all times.
The room is very comfortable. Staffs are very friendly. The breakfast is so so.
Attended to our questions quickly. Called down for room service menu's that were missing from our room, unfortunately,we never received them.
We came to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and enjoy some downtime before the holidays. Every detail is considered at this hotel. The staff were responsive, warm, and very accommodating. We stayed in a petite suite, loved the spa tub, rainfall shower, and plush, down king-sized bed. The Verses restaurant downstairs offers impeccable contemporary French fare, and Olive and Gourmando just down the street is perfect for fresh coffee and croissants in the morning. We will definitely stay here again.
Nice rooms, two excellent bars/restaurants in the hotel and very friendly staff Nothing worth mentioning
Very accommodating. Great neighborhood. clean and nice. Terrific service. Nice restaurant and breakfast spread. Rooftop bar. Overall the staff could not have been more responsive and very accommodating. Our room was very nice. A petite suite, loved the spa tub and comfortable king-sized bed. We will definitely stay again. Staff (Melanie) needs to be careful sending clients to tourist restaurants. We specifically stated no "tourist restaurants". There are so many lesser-known restaurants that are fabulous and worth trying. We were sent to Vieux port steakhouse for sunday brunch. We had slop. We arrived sunday morning. After we saw many terrific cafes and brasserie. And please note she (Melanie) did NOT tell us about the rooftop bar or your new restaurant. Perhaps we would have gotten our sunday late morning/ early lunch there.
Really enjoyed our stay, friendly staff and beautiful, cozy room! The shower was amazing, with the second rain shower overhead and the fireplace was perfect for the time of year (early April- about 0 degrees Celsius) my boyfriend and I really enjoyed the complementary water and chocolate brought to our door every day. It was a sweet touch. The location was convenient. A lot of great restaurants and site seeing nearby! And the metro is less than a 5 minute walk. What we probably appreciated the most was the concierge who sat right in the lobby, ready for our questions. We had many. Wanting to know the best places to eat and visit, even making reservations for a tour and dinner reservation. she was the best! Probably the only thing we didn't like was the continental breakfast. $19 per person. Definitely not worth the price. There wasn't a lot of options and it was all cold (granted we ate at around 10am) so it sat out for a couple hours but I would have expected the food be kept in chafing dishes to stay warm for that price. so needless to say that was the only time we ate breakfast in our hotel. So many other great breakfast spots around the corner!
location in old Montreal I was charged for 5 phone calls when I only made one
Gorgeous place, supremely comfortable bed. Super clean room, extremely helpful staff. Street noise can be slightly loud late at night in the front facing rooms
The hotel location. The breakfast. The bed. Staff not very friendly. Staff cold in manner (fake smiles). Control of shower temperature difficult.
It was a reasonably priced hotel (and with very reasonably priced services) in the heart of Montreal next to a Notre Dame. The location is great for one day or two day trips. Ensuite minibar and hotel restauraunt had good selection and were reasonably priced. Bathroom is great for having sex. No meat or eggs at all at the "continental breakfast", which is misleading. The view from the windows was nonexistant.
The reception people offered an upgrade at a very reasonable price. The room was excellent and offerde extreme comfort. The wait staff wre very slow in respnding to the service needs.
Clean, spacious, attractive. Staff was very nice and responsive. My room - 412 - was a corner room and the heat was not working properly. Maintenance came up and did not do anything useful. I had housekeeping bring up a space heater to keep the room warm. Without the space heater, the room was about 65 degrees. Too cold for sleeping for me. The hotel should keep the facility a little warmer overall, and not let the rooms get so cold. The HVAC system did not put out nearly enough heat.
The Hotel Nelligan is located in Old Montreal--a beautiful location--but is is also close to a Metro station, which makes travelling around the rest of the city easy. There are excellent restaurants within walking distance. The breakfast buffet is very good.
Charm of the old building, courteous staff and proximity to historic sights and good food and galleries. I would have liked to have more light available in the room.
Beautiful. Central old Montreal. Most plush comfy bed. Huge bathtub for 2.
Staff so wonderful, room was beautiful, old charm with modern facilities Absolutely loved it. Will be back for sure!
Architecture of the hote
Everything about this hotel was enjoyable. They also upgraded our room with a double jacuzzi which was very nice. I wouldn't to hesitate to recommend this property -- we will definitely be returning.
The location of the hotel and the amenities around the old city were stupendous. It felt like Europe which sets it apart from other North American cities. A coffee machine in room would have been more than welcome.
We found the staff to be pleasant and helpful. Your location is excellent. I found the low lighting difficult for applying make-up. The pillows were too 'lofty' to be comfortable.
The staff was very accommodating....made reservations or changed them for us, no problem there. True: This hotel is in a very noisy location...the train is close by, not so much the whistle, but the grating of the wheels on the track, awful...really very loud. The area bistros close late, are very very loud, so not a restful place to stay. Had we known this, would not have booked it. One of the staff even admitted it was extremely noisy. Needs some refurbishing as well.
Beautiful building, fantastic location, staff was terrific.
I enjoyed the feel of being in part of historic Montreal and having a convenient location to many of Montreals attractions.
Proximity to port
We found that the bed in the room was one of the most comfortable we had ever been in.
Convenient location for walking. There was a line at the check in/out desk. ONE employee, and she was sitting the entire time. Both when i checked in and out. There is ONE elevator, which was always so packed and with a line that the only time i used it was to carry our bags up to the room. Its noisy as hell there, 3am noisy as hell. The thermostat wouldnt work. Had something written on the knob to adjust the temps, but we were sweating to death all night, and into the morning. Roll away bed was not comfortable. And all this for nearly $500 US dollars a night?
Unique architecture (we had a floor to ceiling beam in the middle of our room tastefully painted to match the decor) and the food was great. Location exceptional for exploring Old Montreal. All in all a very nice experience.
Absolutely everything - from the service, to the room, to the restaurant and live music. A wonderful experience! n/a
Big comfortable bed The air was very, dry
We loved the location and the staff. the room was spacious and trendy with a bedroom, bathroom, living room, a small kitchenette and a second pull down bed. This is a great spot for families. Pets are accepted (you probably need to make a prior arrangement.
Staff, lobby, suite, furniture, amenities Breakfast buffet not up to par i.e. Only one type/flavor of yogurt, poor selection and appearance of fresh fruit, strange-tasting orange juice, and no oatmeal! Also, no complimentary tea/coffee service/self-service 24/7
Walking around old Montreal & comfort of hotel
location Service very slow. Noise of other hotel guests. Room not serviced on second day bad form. Night porter not polite.
The room was lovely and we liked having a mini-kitchen. The staff behind the front desk was very knowledgeable and gave us great recommendations. Going to the bar for a cup of coffee in the morning, I received cold coffee, which they did replace, but there was a lot of chaos there. Somebody came in to stock the alcohol for the bar, three other staff there, but it still took awhile. Then while drinking my coffee a supervisor came and was reprimanding those 3 staff people, instead of taking them to the back room to do it.
Very nice hotel. The suites were enourmous. The satff working the door were great and very helpful, especially since the front desk staff couldn't be bothered. The staff at the front desk were less than helpful and I was ignored on several occasions standing at the front desk. The concierge seems to be hit or miss it terms of actually being present to answer questions. .
Having stayed in two other hotels of the same category in Montreal over the same week my favourite is Le Saint-Sulpice. The staff in all three places was equally friendly. Where Le Saint-Sulpice is coming in first is the equipment and the feel of privacy and comfort transported by the suites. The kitchenette is fully equipped, a decent bottle of wine readily available. The living room is spacious. The covers comfortable. The bath is nicely lit. It is equipped with high quality fixtures and care products. Did not try breakfast so I can´t comment on it.
the room was great and the hotel was very well located
Good location with very helpful staff.
Friendly staff, separate bedroom, kitchenette with small stove, cookware and kitchenware, in the heart of Old Montreal.
Very nice ambience (including fire and candles in the lobby area), large suite, fabulous location (perfect for wandering around Old Montreal, cafes, restaurants, and browsing the boutiques). In addition, I forgot something in the room, and the staff kindly agreed to send it directly to my home.
Very spacious for Old Montreal No on-site parking
This is our second time staying at the Springhill Suites in Old Montreal. The location is perfect, the seclusion terrific. The staff was so attentive to our every need. The breakfast in the morning allowed us to eat out in the evening at a more expensive restaurant without compromising our budget. We found two new places to haunt while we were there this time. Our first night we went to the St. Paul Street pub, a lively upstairs sports bar with great views of the St Lawrence river and a cruise ship that was docked there. Happy hour lasted from 4-7 pm. We ended up enjoying a few beers and a huge plate of nachos featuring homemade chips. It was a fun evening. Our Saturday night meal was at a little restaurant at the corner of the street right down on the riverfront. I honestly can't remembver the name of the place but the food was fantastic. We opted for the table d'hote and enjoyed the best ever French onion soup, Chicken pot pie for me and tortierre for my husband and a very ...
This was one of the best of 17 hotels we stayed in during our 36 day trip during August and September of 2007. The room was great and the included breakfast was excellent. We would recommend this hotel to all our friends and to anyone looking for a hotel in Old Montreal. You cannot beet its location.
Spring Hill Suites is a modern hotel in the heart of Old Montresl. It is steps from all the major attractions in this district. The hotel itself is clean and quiet ;it's located on a side street the rooms are nicely laid out with sitting areaand desk if you're on business& and bedroom area. The beds are comfortable, Staff is helpful and courteous. Breakfast included in room rate offers standard buffet make your own waffles; cereals; eggs and accompaniments coffee was good. The breakfast area is a little crowded at prime time, but an additional room was opened up on a busy Sunday morning& Our room had no view facing an office building across a narrow street&. The'work out room' is minimal. We had a good stay and recommend the hotel. The old city neighborhood has many fine and expensive restuarants and is busy with street life on weekends. On weekdays the ambience is quieter.
Springhill Suites in Old Montreal is one of our favorite sites to visit. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The elevator was having a problem while we were there, but the desk person took us to the delivery elevator so we wouldn't have to climb the stairs. We asked for wine glasses and they were delivered to the door within seconds of us arriving in the room. They were very knowledgeable about restaurants in the area. The cleaning staff was excellent. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The pool and exercise room is quite small, but it also was not overrun with children. We enjoyed our stay and plan to return next winter.
Perfect place for families - very economical for what you get. Pool is small and shallow, but perfect for kids, and the parents can relax in the adjacent whirlpool. Nice suite rooms, pool, full breakfast, valet parking, close walk to everything in Old Montreal. We'll definitely be back! '
We could not have stayed in a better place. The manager at the front desk was superb - extremely helpful. The room was immaculate - the breakfast very nice. Everyone was very friendly. Our whole trip to Montreal was great - truly enjoyed the people there. Would go back in a heartbeat - and would definitely stay at Springhill Suites again.
Stayed here for my wife's 60th birthday. We often stay at SpringHills and found this hotel to be comparable with upscale Marriott properties. My wife has asthma, and this hotel was impeccably clean and well run. The location (in Old Montreal, and literally steps from numerous sites & restaurants) is excellent. The beds were comfortable, the breakfast was superior. We will definitely return.
Very cheerful and roomy facility with knowledgeable and friendly staff. Best features: located in the middle of Old Montreal & great breakfast to get the family started. Only drawback: relatively small indoor pool with no windows.
The hotel is in great location in old Montreal, the rooms are spacious and the staff very polite. The price is very reasonable and in general we were very pleased with our stay.
I would stay in Old Montreal anyday over downtown. The location is excellent. Not far from a tube station and a 5 min walk to Notre Dame, this hotel is convenient, clean and the hotel staff are quite helpful. There is free internet connection in the room. Did not get a chance to use anything else as there is so much to do in Montreal. This hotel is also close to the cruises that you can do along the river. O yeah helpful to have the kitchen as well. Taxi ride from the airport is about CAD*. There is no easy way to use the train.
Le Petit Hotel offered a cozy getaway in a perfect location. The staff was friendly, attentive and professional. Wll definitely be returning! Parking is challenging and soundproofing isn't fantastic. But these things would not keep me away!!
Le Petit Hotel made for an amazing getaway for my boyfriend's birthday weekend. The location, staff, and hotel room are all top notch. I'd been eyeing Le Petit Hotel as a place to stay when we decided a couple months ago that we wanted to visit Montreal over his birthday weekend. Le Petit exceeded my expectations. I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in Montreal. I wish I could stay at a Le Petit in every city.
Great location. Pretty facility, with beautiful breakfast room Our first floor room, room number 1, was tiny. Too small and too noisy a location. If you book through booking.com and get lowest rate, this is the room they book. Other rooms better size and location, and worth the money
The location is perfect for walking in Vieux Montreal. Overall, the auberge is extremely charming and complete in what it offers. Our room/bathroom was uncomfortably small (rm. #1) and crowded before we were even in it with our suitcases, etc. Also poorly located by the entrance, so that we heard late night arrivals, door bell ringing, conversation, etc. We were told that owner is planning to change this room and expand rest of hotel. I'm sure other rooms are better.
The saltwater pool was a real bonus for such an inexpensive hotel. I chose the hotel for its cost effectiveness and was not disappointed. However, the cab rides into the old city of Quebec used up the savings...for this reason alone I would pay the extra next time and choose a hotel more central.
It's a lovely boutique hotel, well furnished, well-decorated and comfortable. The owner was also very helpful in the matter of receiving a box sent for me by courier and even helped me in carrying it to the convention centre. The most inconvenient part is that there is no staff available at the front desk between 10 pm and 8 am. If you need to go out at 7:30am and want to communicate with hotel staff, it's just not possible unless you want to write a letter and keep it at the desk (but you will only see the reply after you come back!). My return flight was early in the morning. When I left, leaving the key at the front desk, dragging my suitcases out into the empty street outside, I was a little worried about what to do if I did not get a taxi to the airport. There was absolutely no one around to even ask for help. I wish there would be someone in the hotel who can be called if one needs help at odd hours. Feels eerie otherwise.
Pleasant and informal atmosphere, excellent breakfast, quiet downtown location in old Montreal.Staff very friendly and multilingual. No elevators, not suitable for those incapable of climbing stairs.
