This Hilton had a quiet peaceful atmosphere. You don't even know you are near the airport. It's location is gorgeous. It's right on the bay with a walking/jogging/biking path along the water. The rooms were very nice, new and clean! This is now pretty rare but the staff was friendly, helpful and truly wanted to us happy. I don't say this lightly. We loved our visit.
The marina view was great, lots of boats, very relaxing and visually appeasing. The room was clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were perfect. The room didn't have a fridge, but the ice machine was across the hall. The parking fee is $21.
I had a good beer in the bar, and the bed was soft. The shuttle driver was quite polite from there on besides the bed it was terrible customer service at the front desk, the pea soup green and brown color scheme made me want to get sick even before the over priced breakfast made my girlfriend and I after we paid for a breakfast that was terrible, sitting next to be 1 ounce and $4 dollar juice cup. I will probably never stay at a Hilton branded hotel again after this stay. I drove the entire coast, stayed in hotels the whole way and I would stay in motel 6 before this hotel again.
Clean well appointed and connected to airport
Great location, lobby is unimpressive but the rooms have recently been refubished and are excellent. A fairly small hotel with great views of the San Diego bay and a beautiful marina.
The view was gorgeous.
BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE (BRYAN)
We enjoyed our stay. Great Marina view and clean hotel. The beds are too small for people with small children.
Location Requested quiet room with king size bed. Front desk clerk told be they set aside a room for me overlooking the ar conditioning unit. She asked if I would like to change to room with view but it had 2 queen beds instead. I agreed.
Lovely hotel and the location was very quiet. Beautiful views of the bay and the pool was empty. The staff was very friendly and I really felt like I was on vacation.
The location near the airport yet with a beautiful view of San Diego with a walk along the harbor made it a wonderful choice. Accomodations were comfortable and clean.
Nothing There were drugs in the hotel and I had my baby with me and they still won't refund my money even tho I didn't end up staying there. Worst experience
Very nice hotel with bery spacious rooms. There was a couple strip clubs right next door.
location was nice Ac unit was so loud, it woyld kick on and it sounded like a plane was landing in the lobby
Price was good because it was tucked away in a not so nice area, but close to the freeway. Staff was very friendly and helpful! Very strong perfumy smell in lobby and in rooms. Also, several times we asked for a "firm pillow and only received feather down pillows. It's very difficult to sleep on those.
The room was lovely & clean. I appreciated that! I feared I left some items behind....called the hotel 3 times. Left messages to call me... no one ever did. Even if it's bad news, I believe those that call deserve a call back.
easy to locate, clean & comfy for price Wish it had a house bar, larger shower, shouldn't have to pay to park
Renovated hotel. Very clean and modern. Good facilities with pool, spa and small gym. The location is in the middle of an industrial area but not bad if you stay on premises.
Friendly, helpful. Happy staff. No parking fee. Great breakfast. Clean.. One of the best Hampton Inn we have ever stayed in. Slight noise, but when I called the front desk, they found a solution almost instantly.
Room I was given close to cleaning facilities and was a little loud at time but overall great place.
Nice, solid, clean room
Very nice hall way
It was close to the airport as well as not far from where my friend lived. She was able to stay over with me at the beginning and end of my visit. She picked me up from the airport and we toured around, stayed over the first night and then went to her home. On the last night we toured around near the airport and stayed over again so I could get an early morning flight the next day. She took me to the airport for the flight as there was no other way to get there. I didn't like the smell of cigarette smoke and not feeling secure. The first night on arriving at our room and trying to use the card to open the door we found that there was not only someone in the room but it was likely a homeless person and his bicycle!! None of the staff seemed perturbed by that! On the second stay the room, a non smoking room, stunk of cigarette smoke. We were kept awake by loud voices in the room next door. My friend heard a loud argument that sounded like it might turn violent when she awoke in the night. I was glad that I wasn't there alone! Not a safe place for a woman to stay alone!!
The room looked updated and clean. No issues with cleanliness whatsoever. The room had everything we needed. Parking is free!! Even though it gets packed with cars every night, I was still always able to find a couple available spots. They also have an underground parking section with plenty of spaces I case the lot above is full. The house keeper forgot to restock our toilet paper one day.
Located across the street from 2 strip clubs in a questionable part of town with questionable people roaming the streets is not my idea of an advertisement of being located close to a family establishment such as seaworld.
Comfortable remodeled clean room on 3rd floor. Nice staff! Coffee in lobby. Toiletries and nice towels. Flat screen tv. A lot of comfy pillows. Free parking. Good value for location and comfort. Close to sports arena and beaches. Hair dryer worked well. Air conditioner worked. Front desk called and asked if we needed anything and hoped we enjoy our stay. NOISE and area. Strip clubs right around the corner. Highway noise is loud. No coffee maker or microwave in room. No breakfast was available.
Close to shopping, restaurants and local attractions. The hotel is located between Seaworld, Old Town & down town.
Seaworld, zoo, safari park, downtown are 10-25 mins drive. If you are looking for visiting places, and do not care much about luxurious stay, want to save some money, this is the right hotel. Overall stay was fine, only problem was the washbasin would not drain water. We had complained about it to staff, but it was not repaired.
When we checked in, we were hoping for a non-smoking room, but were placed in a room that had obviously been used by a smoker. I almost never complain, but had to. My kids were coughing and complaining about the "gross" smell. The staff was very friendly and accommodated our request right away. The second room was the polar opposite: very clean, comfortable, and pleasant. We were within 100 yards of two different "nude review" establishments. The hotel was a very basic, bare-bones facility in an industrial neighborhood. It is central to a lot of San Diego's attractions, but not the most pleasant, family-friendly place I've stayed. During the day I felt fairly safe, but when the sun set, I had a general feeling of being unsafe and on high alert.
Location was ok, you can have a smoke really easy just by going out, but thats it. We found a roach walking around the handwasher, where our toothbrushes were, so I had to go to a close by store and purchase new toothbrushes, the front desk lady wouldnt help us with that, only gave me the phone number for the manager whom "was never available to take the phone call"(cause I tried for a week after our visit), and with all that trouble, the hotel still charged the deposit for leaving later than anticipated due to this incident of having to go outside before leaving. We had the king size bed which could've been comfortable but it had some kind of plastic beneath the sheets and it was really hard to take off so it was noisy and really sweaty in the night even when the weather was great. Carpet was really stained This was the second time I stayed at this hotel, our first visit was good but never again, it seems they just stopped trying.
Jamal, the evening desk clerk was very helpful and kind. Creepy area with strip clubs on the corner.
Well located for San Diego Marathon Distinct smell of cigarette smoke in our "non-smoking" room
Everything was clean nice Friendly
Way too high for a mediocre place. Place just seemed run down. It was loud too. Place is just serviceable and I chose it for convenience sake. For what I paid, I expected much better.
Nice staff, great location, nice rooms, clean hotel in general. Good breakfast area and selection. Worlds slowest elevator. Tv's in rooms not HD.
This hotel is made of several buildings. I made the mistake of unloading all of my luggage when i checked in. Was then told by staff i had to drive further down the street to another building where my room was. I was not happy. More like a motel than a hotel. At least the house staff did their job and the room was clean
The nice lobby you check in at The nasty buildings that you actually stay in after being given a map to find them. I spent less than 10 minutes in the room then swiftly checked out and demanded a refund.
All staff very nice accommodating and helpful!!! We had hide a bed issue and a memory foam pad was brought to us. We had a phone dropped in toilet and rice was found for us. We had toilet leak and repairman was out to fix within 1 hour and he even made arrangements for fresh bath mat to be brought to our room!! Very impressed!! Love walkway and seating area outside!!! Too small of a room for price. No door between bedroom and sink and light area therefore always woke up other person as getting ready
Enjoyed the cleanliness of the hotel. We stayed for a local triathlon and it was perfect.
Lovely Suite loads of room full kitchen with dishwasher and lots of free goodie's, the Swimming Pool with Hot Tub was good. The free breakfast and dinner was ok 15 Dollar Cab to Old Town each way. 20 Dollar Cab to Gas Light District/Down Town each way.
It was great that they called us by our names. They were very good when it came to taking care of our needs (baby cot, extra bed, air conditioning seemed too strong). This is probably typical with a majority of family accomodations. The people above seemed to be "running around" or stomping on the floor, which makes me think they also have kids. However, this went on well into the late hours around 11ish. I was a little frustrated with that.
Very convenient location close to the airport but very little airport noise. The one bedroom suite was small but very nice and clean, tastefully decorated and appointed. Comfortable bed with maybe eight pillows, two nice TV's. The kitchen was nice with granite countertops, full size refrigerator. Our room had a nice view of waterway and green belt-walking trail. The staff was very professional efficient and personable. We didn't take advantage of the free meals because we are vegetarian and used the kitchen in our room for our own meals but as I was checking out I noticed the breakfast activity was in full swing and seemed very generous not just a token continental breakfast. We will definitely stay here again. The only small complaint we have is that there are no knobs on the kitchen cabinets to open the drawers etc.
the free breakfast , dinners , beer and wine , helpful kitchen staff. The complemtry grocery shopping service that was good value. The pillow in the room were very comfy . room were very spacious, Kitchen had all the mod cons needed for a long stay Our room could of had balcony and the airconditioning was a bit noisy
It is a great deal for the value you will pay. It is not in the best location, if you are looking to be waterfront. It is nice because there are plenty of grocery stores nearby and it is within 10 minutes of driving to basically all the main attractions of San Diego, which was very nice. I would say it is a 3.3 star hotel. Nothing special about it, but the bed was nice. I'd recommend it for families trying to travel on a tight budget. Large homeless population around the area. Our neighbor at the hotel would smoke in front of his room so we constantly were smelling it. Our room had a front family room and a back bedroom, the downfall to this was that the air conditioner was in the front room and you had to turn on a noisy fan to get the air to circulate into our room. It was so noisy that we couldn't sleep with it on so we would get pretty warm at night time.
All around great place to stay
My family came down to San Diego for vacation and when we arrived to your hotel and checked in, we were given the wrong room's, the next morning I informed the front desk, and they would get everything taken care of when I came back later that day. When I came back that night it still hadn't been taken care of and the front desk person upgraded our room to a King suite for free which I thought was pretty awesome. Thank you so much for fixing the mistake and going beyond what was needed.
Good value for the money. Room was spacious, clean and quiet.
Decent hotel for the price. Bathrooms and bedding need an upgrade but for the price, not a bad deal. Felt scared to leave our bikes on our bike rack while checking in. Even the hotel concierge encouraged us to bring them inside and lock them in a spare room even if leaving bikes unattended for a few minutes.
Staff was friendly, the lady at the desk who I assume was the manager was wonderful. They do a great job of making the "motel" look great online, however once we arrived we were a bit disappointed. The location is terrible in downtown San Diego, there were quite a few "transients" in the area, including a few that had rooms. I'm not one to knock a person based on there unfortunate status, but when I go on vacation I don't want to see security having to forceably remove a poor homeless guy from the property while he shouts obscenities at 10 in the morning, nor see the police driving through the parking lot each night. The 2nd night we wereally there we heard blood curdling screams from a woman shouting for help, which thankfullyrics were met by swift police presence, but terrified my 3 young children. Also, there's a sign at the front desk clearly stating that the "motel" bears the Wyndham name, they are simply owned by the group and not operated by Wyndham or subject to their standards. We returned to our room after days out to find soda cans and used rubber gloves left in our room by the cleaning staff and our room had stains on the floor and holes in the shower. The WiFi never worked well at all, we were able to get a better signal from the Wendy's next to the hotel. Overall I would give them a 2, barely, and that's solely based on the interactionsame I had with the front desk who were very nice. The obviously mentally ill woman who stalked the parking lot for two days shouting curse words (I'm sure she had Tourette's Syndrome) causing the police to come multiple times. Again, nothing against this poor soul but not something I want to worry about while on vacation with three young boys.
Access to most tourist spots and beaches. Location. Hotel building and surroundings look shady. Elevator which feels will break any moment. No security permiter, so anyone can roam freely within the hotel premises. No security locker in the room. Small room with uncomfortable beds. Very dirty AC vent. One of the hotel buildings (Building D) is on a very crappy street and overlooking junkyard (that's what it looked like) with multiple trash hauling trucks on the street. Don't go by the pics on the website. Every inch of hotel needs major upgrades for me to pay what I paid for at this place next time.
It's was roomy I paid for a 1 queen size bed they gave me two full size ones. I ask for another room they said they were full. Even though the parking lot was pretty empty that night. Walked in the bathroom to be greeted by two roaches in the tub. I guess Wyndham Garden means it's like your sleeping in the garden with the bugs. Leave the lights on.
rooms parking, it charged $12 per night
clean, quiet, central, safe/secure bed was a bit hard, staff was distant (non work-chatting with other staff while attending me at desk), charging for parking --- really?
Family room had bunk beds. Pool is nicely heated. Family suite just has half a wall that separates bunk beds from the king bed. It is not a separate room. Area is kind of sketchy. More like a motel than a hotel.
Located close to airport for flights out. Located close to public transit and Old Town District.
We love San Diego and the Old Town Inn. We always stay there nothing
We requested and received a very quiet room. The room and hotel overall were very clean and the staff friendly. Free breakfast options included steel cut oats, no-crust quiche, and waffles. We had the oats, which were good. The fresh fruit was also high quality: oranges, green apples, and bananas. We didn't try the pool.
Room is big and clean. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. We were asking for good place to eat, and he provided us a plenty of choices in downtown bay side and old town... and we tried one in old town, food is good, so do the scene and surroundings... From the map, we thought this hotel is just beside the sea world, but actually it is not so close, about 10 min drive way.
Room was clean, beds were comfortable, and breakfast was on point. Staff was courteous and friendly. Location, location, and location. Have I mentioned location already? The hotel itself is great but it's tucked behind stores which makes it difficult to find and can be very easily missed. Parking was also little tight unless you have a compact car.
Beds are slanted and small. Bathrooms are moldy and musty.
Rooms were clean, but there were smokers hanging around outside of the rooms. The elevator was in poor condition and vibrated wildly as it traveled. Didn't seem very safe.
My flight got in late & the shuttle wasn't available. I wish it was specified that it wasn't a 24-hour shuttle in the description, because that was the reason I picked the hotel.
Breakfast was pretty good, only lasts until 9 am, which is fine for me working, but if you wanna sleep in you need to look for something else. Staff was really friendly and helpful. There's a shuttle to a few places of interest/usefulness. The neighborhood is pretty bad, but they do seem to keep the parking lot clear and the second building further back only has one parking lot entrance. Food options are limited and not high quality with a ton of derelicts in the parking lots. Traffic is pretty bad on the street near here anytime later than say 6 am.
I thought most of the staff was really helpful. They were kind enough to upgrade us, and we're very helpful with questions/details about San Diego. The smell was horrendous. I thought the reviews were an over exaggeration, but they were spot on. It smelled like mold and wet towels in our room. I would assume the carpets need to be replaced. The scent seems to be embedded in it. Free breakfast was great, but it's exactly the same every day. Maybe switch it up every other day? Just a thought :)
I liked that it was close to the freeway. The front desk staff was awesome. Room was dirty. Bedsheets had a stain as well as the carpet. you can hear every noise outside. Parking lot was not safe. Beds were not comfortable Area overall is not safe. Power went completely out. Bathroom sucks, shower was not heating up.
Hotel was affordable and clean enough.
The Bed was stained and dirty left me feeling very uncomfortable in the room and it was easy to tell the bed the sheets were very old and old fashioned. Would not recommend sleeping in a hotel like this.
We opted for a room assigned at checkin knowing we could fit in a suite with sofa bed or 2 queens in each room because of the price difference. It was the way to go!!! 30 from Legoland, 10 minutes from Sea world, 15 from Stone Brewing, 15 minutes from Mission Bay. Kayaking, peddleboats, swimming, biking etc. Nothing! I would stay here again. Staff was also friendly and helpful!
Close to transportation to Old Town transit center, easy to get around, lots of big box stores nearby, area is gentrifying. Hotel was a good value for price paid. Many places to eat within walking distance of hotel, a 1/2 mile radius. The staff was very accommodating and friendly, I didn't have a problem with housekeeping knocking on doors before 10am. In a formerly seedy area, Port Loma is up-and-coming neighborhood, however, still has a few homeless hanging around. Since its in the flight path of San Diego Int'l, I could hear planes overhead from 6am -Midnight even with the AC on. It's an older hotel with spotty maintenance, for example, the front of air conditioner gauge detached easily from the wall. Noise level, moderate even from the third floor could hear kids in the pool. Iffy to walk around at night, guests expecting a safer area should stay in Gaslamp Qtr, Hotel Circle or by the harbor. Hotel area has a suburban feel with heavy traffic on Rosecrans and Sports Area aves.
Liked: Clean sheets, comfortable rooms, very nice staff, good for 1 night, no parking fee, close to airport Disliked: AC was old & noisy, faucet was broken, odor in room not my favorite,
The parking was terrible. My sheets was dirty there is no night housekeeping staff. The janitor had to come change the sheets to replace them with more spotted sheets. The rooms floors was dirty from the morning before I checked in. Called the night manager and complain his responce was " what do you want me to do". I said Starr off with im sorry. The breakfast room was hot no air circulation not a great selection no one cleaning up the area too many unsupervised kids running around. The ad on computer does not match what you really get. I requested a refund
Ok mht afstand til by og strand. Fint poolområde. Belinggende i lidt kedeligt område, men det gør moteller jo som oftest
jeg synes værelset var godt. værelset havde det nødvendige som køleskab og ordentlig toiletforhold. ingen havregryn (fordi vi er dansker)
Staff was responsive and friendly. For basic economy lodgings, it was fine and I had a good night's sleep. Electricity went out in my room around midnight. I was sitting in the dark. A circuit breaker had obviously tripped when I turned on the light over the bed. Called front desk. No answer. Walked down to office. Man behind the desk who checked me in saw to the problem immediately and I had the electricity back on in short order. Also, be aware that they put a $100 hold on my credit card, which was released immediately without problem on check out, assuming I hadn't smoked or had pets in the room. There were a lot of cigarette butts in the ashtray at the bottom of the stairway that hadn't been emptied or swept from the stairs.
Great location, clean room, extremely friendly staff (Alberto was great), nice pool & hot tub. I would definitely stay again based on price.
i will never tell anyone to stay there. it was load and annoying and i am petty sure the room next store was a hooker. i could hear her night visitors all night. i wanted to get a night of sleep away from the roommates. i should of just stayed home. i left early in the morning because i didn't feel safe there.
Location was great with lots of eating options near by and only a few minutes from sea world and not too far away from shopping centers and sea port village. Not too pricey. The place was kind of run down and it was obvious that the staff did not like their job, definitely not the friendliest and definitely didn't bend their back to accommodate people.
not much rooms were small restrictive for smokers no pool no amenities beside room and tiny coffee/breakfast area in am cramped parking would not stay there in any future trips
Other guests seem higher class then nearby hotels. Working or busy people that come back at night. No partying drinking weed tinsel with.
Great for the the price. Has everything needed if you're just going for a one night stay. Beds were clean as well as the bathroom. Planning on staying for another night now. Pillows were kind of flat. TV slightly outdated.
Not being negative, actually rooms were clean . But we were just surprised and should have done our homework. Not the type of place to go with a family, single people or guys trips ok butnot kids. It reminds you of a seedy motel, across the street from a strip club, nit a nice neighborhood. If yoy're ik with all that , then its not bad.
Not much. Gave us a new room when we asked for one because there were roaches in our first room... Hair on the towels when we checked in, roaches in our room, staff was not very friendly and seemed bored or bothered when we needed to talk to them. We booked a king sized bed and they gave us a double, so we got the wrong room as well. Breakfast was just muffins and danishes and coffee. Really basic cheap food.
Clean Well maintained Had everything they said it did Great price Would definitely stay there again Took a few minutes to get to it from the freeway.
Es war sauber.. Und ein günstiger preis. Das Bett ist gut. Das Personal ist unfreundlich. Ungünstig Lage zum centrum. Es ist sehr laut
The location was perfect for our trip to Sea World, five minutes away was great. The breakfast was minimal, we were there for the location at an affordable price, not the food.
Close to Sea World and beach. Rooms clean and comfortable. No pool. Neighborhood a little scary with homeless people and other questionable folk.
Proximité de SeaWorld, de Pacific Beach et de Downtown!!!
Room and bath was vey clean , which was foremost things i would look for. Breakfast was decent , 1. Front desk computer keyboard was not working 2 . parking lot was not very clean. internet was not very fast and often got disconnected
Bed was comfortable, showers nice
It was a good stay. Economical and clean. The breakfast was good. (I would have liked to have had Apple juice tho.) The air conditioning unit was a little loud.
Close to our Sea World destination and near many restaurants. Floors were extremely dirty.
They recently updated the inside of the rooms. The walls are very thin. I could hear the TV on all night in the next room.
Price Roaches Unfriendly staff Not enough do no disturb signs for every room Asked housekeeping to not clean while we stayed and they were in our room everyday Pillows way too small Continental breakfast was toast and stale pastries on the weekend, and coffee only during the week Carpet old and gross
I really enjoyed the hotel room. Great value for the money. I thought the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The clerk was very nice. She even gave up her parking spot because my car wouldn't fit in the garage. I would definitely stay there again. The bathroom could use a good scrubbing and some maintenance. Also, the second elevator was out of order, which created long wait time with a big tour group that was leaving at the same time.
The staff was very friendly. The hotel room was dirty, the toilet clogged easily, the elevator smelled like poop, the parking was extremely limited because the owner has a defunct chauffeur business with limousines that occupy eight of the available stalls, etc.
Sure, the room didn't come with an ironing board (it was furnished when I asked for one) and the toilet seat broke when I sat on it (not because I'm that heavy but because it is a cheap one). The shower head was about shoulder level. But the bed was large and comfortable, the room was also of a decent size, the staff was very friendly, the A/C worked well, and the location was great. Keeping in mind what I paid for the room, the experience was not bad at all. Would go again.
It was close to our vacation destinations. Friendly staff members The place didn't feel secure. Underground parking garage was not only flooded our whole stay but the pipes were also leaking. The whole hotel smelled really bad like a dirty wet rag. The restrooms were old and dingy
Price per night reflected appropriately to hotel. Convenient to airport. Bed was comfortable. Our AC did not work, room was VERY stuffy. Windows are paper thin so you hear EVERYTHING outside.
The location was great and view was nice. Located right next to the harbor and surrounded by amenities. Bugs and cockroaches in room
Basic room, no (bad) surprises. Good Value. Convenient to Airport. Water running in tub… wouldn't turn off completely.
I liked the workers, liked the discount coupon for san diego zoo No wifi, no parking, couldn't check in until 5?, I can tell people just party in these rooms. My room had things left over under the bed and a bag over the smoke detector.
Nothing Last minute reservation came down for my daughter to have her baby room was old and filthy thank goodness spent
It was a good value for the cost. The location is good, the bedding was comfortable and clean. Wifi was sporadic. Very basic hotel that could use some updating but served our purposes well.
The Room itself wasn't disgusting, that's about it The view, the employees who can not do jack when it comes to problems with the room, showering in the dark , you guys spend a little more an save yourself some disappointment it won't hurt to spend as much as to stay here.
The staff was super, and the location was just exactly what we were looking for!
Location was great, near Old Town, and Hyws. Very clean. Breakfast was good. Very good deal for the price. The coffee was not very good, but there is a good coffee shop acroos the street.
The honestness of cleaning staff. My daughter left her glasses there. They turned them in and we were able to get them back. The counter staff was friendly and helpful. The room was big and loved that it had the extra mirror and space to do hair and make up that was outside the bathroom.
Staff was friendly and VERY helpful.
diligent staff roadtraffic, noisy airco
staff attempted to remedy internet issues. new tv remote supplies after second call to front desk after 1/2 hour wait. could not connect internet after several attempts. only one person at front desk who stated he was overworked and not able to handle guest requests. no clean up of room after requests. motel located next to airport and impossible to listen to tv when jets overhead. disinterested manager regarding my complaints. overall not acceptable assistance. will not go to HG motel in future.
Free shuttle to SAN that picked up 5am. Room was clean and large. Easy to check in. My husband locked us out so we had to get another room key the desk guy did it no problems. Morning staff guy very nice. Bed was comfortable. No bed bugs we checked always do. No dust and toilet was clean. Checked all that. A /C worked great. Older hotel more motel feel. Room smelled at first but turning on a /c helped that. The sidewalks littered with cigarette butts. The neighbors beside us up all night with music and hit the wall many times but we did not report it had to get up too early. Big gap under door.
The hotel and room was very clean and pleasant. The staff was courteous.
I didn't like the fact that I had to stay outside the front office at 4am waiting on a taxi to take me to the airport. I think guests should be allowed to stay inside the lobby to wait for a taxi at this early time.
Closeness to MCRD Noisy like the walls were thin. Heard people coming and going all hours of the night.
Clean quiet room and transportation to the airport Airport shuttle stopped too early in the evening for in coming guests
Location,Cleanliness,Staff,Room. Surrounding Neigborhood,Price, Old Look
Price Water pressure was good. Refrigerator/Microwave/TV Clean Additional paid deposit of $50 required at check-in. Staff gave room and access key to another person who walked in on us after we were there for 15 minutes. Very few electrical outlets, and what there were would not hold plugs in the wall. Too dark, not enough lighting. Stairs are steeper than modern motel. 2nd floor railings are lower than modern motel. Could not use bathroom outlets to charge electronic devices - when the lights timed off, so did the outlets. Door key cards had to be replaced 4 times over the time I was there - and I didn't have them next to any cards, wallets, etc. .....TOO MANY INCONVENIENCES.....
There pool was nice Very small room, old ran down motel very poor maintenance, all electrical outlet's were old, and when you plugged things in they came out. I plugged my cell phone in the only outlet that worked in the bathroom and while I was sleeping the gfci went out and I woke up to a dead phone for the day. One more thing that bothered me a little, I asked the front desk if they gave a military discount and she said yes but I can't get it because I was already getting a good deal.
The hotel is in the middle between the beaches and downtown, close to the old town. This makes it excellent for visiting the whole area. The room was nice and comfortable, Internet was ok. Sometimes parking is not enough for all guests, but you can easily find a place in the neighbourhood. The room was not cleaned completely everyday. Breakfast is poor and there is not a room to serve it. For someone traffic and airplanes can be a little noisy.
We really enjoyed the upgraded finishes. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Having a microwave and small fridge was very nice. The upgraded outlet plugs with the USB ports was fantastic! The location was perfect. On site parking was a huge bonus! The craftmanship of the remodel is sub par, our door trim came off and my husband snapped it back into place. The wifi signal did not quite reach our room, to be effective. The towels the first few days were great! Then it's was as if they had a shortage, hard scratchy ones and no washcloths for the remainder of our stay. Also, the beds were majorly uncomfortable! For the money spent per night we were hoping for a bit more.
Kinda cool and different.....veey reasonably priced....bathroom interesting. Bed sagged in the middle but still comfortable.
Clean, comfortable room/bed Decent WiFi Great location Free parking, though it was a bit limited No Fridge, desk or other furniture in the room besides the bed No breakfast, though close to several options
location is close to SeaWorld Pool was out of service, limited breakfast.
nothing I dont like the blankets and the carpet looks dingy and the carpet smell old
I love the fact that there was a lot of stores and restaurants nearby, and also the Marine Corps Recruit Depot wasn't that far either.
Hotel room was dirty, carpet torn, internet did not work and bad smell in room. Recommend that the room be refurbished and up dated. Otherwise take the hotel off Kayak's list of hotels.
I liked the layout of the rooms. There were two sleeping areas with separate air conditioning for both. The kitchenette and sitting areas were nice as well. The toilet was clogged and finally overflowed. One of the remotes for the two televisions did not work. There was no phone in the room to call the front desk. Housekeeping had left a cleaning rag on top of the toilet. There were vagrants at nighttime around the parking lot at the trash areas for the adjacent businesses.
The only thing I liked was the fact that we didn't get stabbed. I booked his hotel because it had the best rating for a decent price. I just wanted to see my sister graduate from college and she didn't have the room for us to stay at her tiny condo. Here is what greeted us: As we walked in to check in there was a vehicle with a male driver and a female with nappy hair in front of us. I didn't think anything of it until we walked in ad. The guy that's was checking in was negotiating a cash price for his room. The guy at the counter told him that there would be an additional $60 fee. The guy agreed and went to the car to get the money: which is when we were called up front to check in. By the time we grabbed our keys, the cash customer walks back in. As we walked out the female was now out of the car barely holding her head up and two boxes under her feet; one of which had a crack pipe in it... We quickly got in our car and started driving towards our room when the black car in front of he check in shack almost side swiped us and fled the parking lot at 40+ mph. When we looked back we saw there was a cop car on the street and the lady who was leaning against the wall was making hand motions for the other car to leave. I turned to my husband and said "was that a drug deal or a prostitution deal?" When we got into the room everything looked clean. He shower was tiled with travertine; "wasted upgrades" I thought to myself. there was a hole for a fridge but the room didn't have a fridge. If I didn't think they would charge me for it I would have canceled the second night! We literally packed up our whole room and enjoyed our second day away from the hotel. When we got back that night, another surprise... Homeless people sleeping on the corner and no water!!!! Apparently we picked the only night they were going to work on water lines. We barely had enough water to brush our teeth. The next morning as we were eager to check out, I was just glad we didn't get shanked. Staff are nice enough but the area ruins this hotel.
location noisy, dirty walls, water pressure, very scanty breakfast
