As an alleged five-star hotel, The bed linens and ropes are OK for comfort. The size of the room is also decent. They have BBC, French channels. The breakfast is poor: small restaurant, lack of choices, too many people and the quality of food is far from anything five-star. I came back to my table with food only to find all other 3 chairs I wasn't using intact but the one I was sitting on just somehow vanished, gone. And the fork and knife and plates were still resting on the table. Haunting! I looked around and saw probably my chair being seated by a mid-age women in the alley, who was enjoying her food and chatting with her friends. The room was a smoking one. Hate smoky air. The View: window opens to the roofs of shabby building and the cramped city skyline in polluted smog. The design of the room is rather strange. The cleanliness could have been much improved on the carpet, the surface of the sofa, etc. to live up with the five star rating. The cheap pack of for-sale toiletries, bottled water of a new local brand, and box of Chinese tea should be removed to upgrade the taste. The TV is small, not high resolution, and cannot adjust in any direction, not to mention using your USB for your own movie. The tea bag and nestle instant coffee reminds me of a basic 3-star facility. Guests had better go through the full price list of every single item in the room, from bed head board to tea spoon. The completeness of the items you can or cannot see really frightens you to death of damaging the cheap setting. The location: the hotel hides itself in a crowded and dirty residential complex. Reaching there at night is a challenge of GPS. The check-in staff was a cold poker face. He set me aside waiting and dealt with some other guest behind me while being unclear of my booking, no explanation nor guilty feeling. Actually, on the twentieth something Floor, it shows it belongs to some service apartment company. Where am I? A real five star hotel or an average service apartment I find easily find at half the price on the Internet?
It is near the East Railway Station and Metro Subway. Also near to PO Park Plaza which have several good restaurant to choose. Price was high during the Canton Fair.
Good value for business The al a carte food in the restaurant was not good. Ordered snails and delivered shrimps on fruit. Ordered seafood fried rice and received fried rice with a little seafood withe a chicken joint thrown in!
Convenient, friendly and efficient, Breakfast. Not really the western type as advertised. Breakfast restaurant could be cleaner too.
Just the stay They charged us more than what we booked from booking.com. The staff was rude and we argued for 1 hour at cherckin. They blamed the rate change for 40USD increase which is impossible. Next morning we had to rediscuss with the manager and finally they agrees to lower it a little. But at checkout agin they made the same mistake.
everything my ipod and sound device was stolen by room service, construction behind the hotel start from 6 am
Whether they were staff at the reception, restaurant or the lobby all of them paid meticulous attention to details and your needs. They were just exemplary in all respects as Shangri-la hotels in the other parts of Asia. I enjoyed the one day stay. It was not so much the hotel but the transport from the airport to the hotel. They should consider providing shuttle service in view of its distance. I paid 260 RM to a bogus taxi operator when I was told it normally costs only about 150 to 160 RM.
it is a laxury hotel prices are very bad during the canton fair
The decor of the hotel is just super. Everything very modern and upto date. The staff however needs some more training for hotel of this standard. The staff was fine but need some more training for hotel of such high standard
Helpfull staff, good food, nice rooms, evening enertainment in the bar, the design of the hotel, good shops
The welcome from getting out of taxi until reaching the room was excellent and a credit to the staff involved. Thr shuttle bus to exhibition should go to Hall A, B & C
Everything was very nice, from the staff to the food. The hotel is very far away from anything. Accessible only by taxi.
The staff was very helpful, The Horizon Club facilities were excellent, all our needs were met.
The hotel is exccelant. Very modern and the room is has very nice view. If you want to be near the city, this is not the right hotel for you.
some expensive, but for trade fairs is ok price
Luxury buisness hotel near the river.great view Breakfast
Friendliness of Staff. English Level of the hotel staff was poor. I found it quite difficult to communicate and understand their speech.
nice bath room arrangement in the rosedale room (Floor 26) money exchange limited to 200 USD only
Room upgrade and free bus to the international fair Travel desk wanted 7% to use credit card. Desk staff inflexible
Upon checking in and having booked a standard room I got a suite with separate bedroom and 2 bathrooms Super hotel
The size of the king size bed was great; the breakfast buffet opening hours were good (you don't have to rush). The room and halls of hotel look old; the bedroom was spacious with big bed but everything looks old with no real facilities. The TV was small and very, very old. All of this would be very acceptable for a budget hotel but not for a hotel this type. The value for money is quite poor.
I like the hotel because eventhough they never received the reservation from booking.com: they gave us the room at a good price.
. he food is terrible.....the breakfast is so bad,i was sick one day.I was charged one price leaving and as i was in a hurry didnt check the receipt.they then took another 2ooo aus dollars off my creditcard without my permission....now i have to check who and how they took it.
shuttle bus to canton fair. bus stop to HK. food is convenient at that area. 5th floor italian resturant is 50% discount, valuable. to MTR about 10 min. I stayed 4 nights, one night they forgot the bath gel, and sampoo.
traffic and shopping old decoration, old furniture, old equipment, all are not worthy of the room rate
I requested since booking to stay in the non smoking room, but the staff still put me in the smoking floor. So I requested to move and they move me to the room where smaller and cheaper than the cost I paid. So I denied to take it, finally, they moved me to the non smoking floor in the type of room that I booked. And it's such a waste of time!
Effektivt ved check-in. Rigtigt god morgenmadsbuffet.
When we were away from the hotel. We did not like anything the staff were rude and kept trying to add additional fees. We had a 40 minute delay at check in trying to sort out the breakfasts which it clearly indicated on the booking were included but the staff kept insisting they weren't. I will not recommend this hotel to any of my colleagues or friends in fact I will be making it clear to our HR department that handles hotel bookings to avoid this one.
it was a luxury hotel with great spa facilities.good for business people breakfast for halaal sholud be looked into,as u have many moslem clients.
Very kind and helpful staff, good offer of restaurants This hotel might need more lifts
Foot Care Centre, Desingn Poor breakfast, Rigid mattress,Towels look as dirty
Stayed in the executive room. The room was very spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The executive lounge was disappointing. Could have a wider variety of food and some light meals. Did not justify to pay for executive floor price. Beverages (other than Coffee/Tea) was overcharged.
Close to the Canton Fair. Reasobable prices for a good hotel during a business trip.
The facilities were excellent and so was the staff. I would recommend this hotel for the fantastic value. The boring coffee shop menu. Close, but not walking distance from the Metro/ Guangzhou East Rly Stn.
Staff is helpful and polite. The room is spacious, clean and comfort.
the renovated rooms are beautiful the mattress is too stiff
Good Room, excellent breakfast, good pool for relaxing and a little smaller for swim but it is possible in that. the internet is not very fast, but maybe it is the same problem in all china.
all charging for the business center computer!!!!
Nothing.. Beds were hard like rock, checked out early.. hotel management agreed to refund but money still not back yet as Kayak vendor getaroom is still thinking over it!!!
I used their paper stationary folder like envelop, writting pad etc while on canton fare for which they have charged RMB 50. shame on it as a 5star guest charge for a plastic folder???????. I have used paper and throw the plastic folder for that they charged 50 rmb......
Location and breakfast Wifi connection was too slow. The non smoking room had a strong smoke odor.
service and cleanliness
I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed my stay
Great view from the dining area and pool area. Internet access in the rooms was also fantastic to have considering that I was in China on business. The pool bar could have been open at times for refreshments
Location, staff friendliness 1. Complimentary fruits was only for first day.
My flight was delay significantly, I arrived at the hotel 3am the next day. The staff in front desk is very helpful, he not only put me in a non-smoking room as request, also upgraded me to a suite.
the location is good and close with metro station, various restaurants the price is huge for the confort.Last year we have booked this hotel with 90 usd/night in the same period and that is all he deserves as price. The hotel is old,the furniture, towels, everything is old.The breakfast is poor and very expensive.
