The modern room design really works. Both room and hotel overall were attractive and comfortable. The cleanser & shampoo dispensers could use a tray below them to catch drips & avoid slippery spots on shower floor.
The staff are young, hip and friendly. Plus they have giant Connect Four! They have a shuttle; we didn't use it, but it's a nice feature. Don't buy food from their little market (as cute and convenient as it is). There is a market down the street where you don't pay $3.00 for a soda.
Aloft Minneapolis is convenient to the light rail and bus lines. It is an easy walk to the business district. Close to the Guthrie Theater, Gold Medal Park, and the Mill City Museum. Check out Izzie's for ice cream. Hot breakfast sandwiches are available to order in the morning. There are no ice machines on the room floors. You have to go down to the lobby.
We thought Aloft had a great location-- we had a great view of the new Minnesota Vikings stadium and there were plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. The setup of the room is very modern and there were plenty of amenities available to us. Very cool atmosphere! The bathroom facilities were not all that private-- our sliding door did not shut all the way, and the door also doubled as a full-body mirror, which made getting ready a bit awkward, to say the least. There was also an opaque window in the shower that opened up into the bedroom-- we found that to be a little bit odd.
Nice modern room. Great design and lay out. Nice view. First staff member that helped us was very rude and incredibly unhelpful. Fortunately he passed us off on another employee that was very nice and made up for the previous staff members awful service.
Thin walls. You can hear everything from the other side of the hotel
Very clean and cool, not overly trendy but sharp, and the gal at the front desk went above and beyond the call of duty to help me track down my lost luggage from the airline.
Aloft is a great chain for affordable reasonably sized rooms. I like the bar downstairs and the facilities are great for a hotel in this price range. The only small issue with this location was the lack of information about the parking before we arrived, you have to use the public parking lot which is subject to event day increases!
My phone did not work.
Rachel...fantastic service Nope - booking.com maybe. Never got a email copy of my reservation. Thank goodness I've stayed at the property before, and there was no trouble.
Location was great. Staff responded promptly to complaints. Extremely noisy guests - woken up each night and had to call security
Shower was amazing and outdoor bar was beautiful. The mattress was incredibly soft, not firm. D'Amico food was fair - very surprised by that!
Great service all the way around. Bathroom was horrible, no counter space and the sink was leaking into the floor.
Very modern. Great style and terrific service! Marin is a great restaurant!!
Enjoyed the pool and exercise area the most. Charges for a for a wireless internet connection, thought this was greedy.
It was a nice staying, everything was fine, i liked the staff at reception very much - they helped me many times and were always polite
The location, the view, the decorations That the rooms dont have microwave and refrigerator. parking sould have been free for the price payed.
Lokation no fridge in the room, poor swiming pool
no refrigerator in the room
Great atmosphere & friendly staff. Great view of Minneapolis & location was convenient with great dining nearby. People on the floor were loud & the room we had (a corner room - 2012) allowed all sound through the walls. We could hear every door opening / closing & noise from the hall. Cannot recommend for weekend unless you do not plan to go to bed until after 2 am
Great location, steps away from anything worth doing in Minneapolis. Friendly, helpful staff and a cool atmosphere. Keys cafe and Manny's are both downstairs. Stayed in what they call a cool corner room, so there was a decent view. For a place that considers itself an ultra-cool luxury hotel, it was disappointing. Pretty basic room (bed, desk, TV, etc), but burnt out lightbulbs, chipped mirror, pealing paint, our floor (10th) smelled like a deep fryer, and everything costs extra (e.g. Wi-Fi is $13/day). After paying so much for the room, I expected better.
I liked the decor. The vibe was fun and youthful. The room was decorated nice. Asked for a room with a view and got the 5th floor. Wanted something a bit higher in a 28 story building.
Steeped in history, yet brought to modern standards. The shower stall was great, and the photo booth in the lobby was really great to get some shots once we got all dressed for the party. Keys Cafe is right next door for breakfast.
We greatly enjoyed the luxury and "exotic" prohibition feeling. Everything fit a unique theme throughout the hotel. The design and architecture was beautiful. Fortunately our young child travels well and isn't a screamer so we didn't have any problems settling in and giving her a bath and relaxing. We were welcomed without judgement which was very nice given our 1 year old child. The mini bar was outrageously priced! Lucky there are plenty of shops and places down the street for food and goodies.
The room was comfortable & clean. The Restuarants were exceptional and the lounges were lively. Elevators are old and slow. Half of the elevators were out of service. The card readers in the elevators were finicky but you can't get to your room until you fiddle with it. Parking is a nightmare. Attached public parking ticket machine would not give out tickets, just takes credit card and charges for the whole day and can't get in or out after 10 PM. The W does not have affiliated parking so that pretty much just leaves the expensive valet parking. Even that was challenging because the "pull-off" from the busy downtown street is exceptionally small. Over the five days, we often had to stop in the regular traffic lane and hold up traffic while handing the car off to the valet driver.
If Tom Haverford from Parks and Rec made a hotel, this would be it. A bit over the top in a few ways, but you love it all the same.
Location is great! Cool view. Good historical place. Easy to walk to places you want to go. No in-room coffee. I know - details, but....
The location was great and surprisingly we were able to find street parking without any difficulty. Our room was small but very comfortable. We loved the shower, had a nice view and lots of sunlight pouring into our room. The lobby area was dark and very noisy especially in the evening. More of a personal preference but we didn't like the pink lighting and overall dark ambiance of the lobby area. We got the sense that the target clientele were young millenials.
Love the W chain. Always great hotels and they truly understand what guest service is all about.
Friendly staff, swank bar in the lobby and on the 27th floor. Free trip up to the museum and observation deck on floor 30 Awful view of the HVAC equipment for the restaurant below. Smallest room on the second floor.
Broken sink, bad view, overpriced, non fitted sheet, small, everything costs extr including wifi
The staff was extremely nice and accommodating. Very apologetic for the mistakes that were made. The ambiance was on a par with other Kimpton Hotels where we have stayed. Lobby was very pleasant for people watching with a glass of wine We reserved a handicapped suite but it was given to someone else. There was another hdcp room available but it was not great. The room never got made up one day. Food in restaurant not good. and expensive. Location not great.

The staff was superb! The room was smaller than my home bathroom. The price was too high. Poor value! No whirlpool & pool area should be remodeled. No coffee machine in the room. The mattress sagged. The bathroom was tiny. The bar area was small, loud & uncomfortable.
Friendly staff, quiet room with AC that was not too loud. Stairs at entrance made getting luggage to lobby a bit harder. Would have liked nightlight in commode. Free bottled water would have been nice.
The room was ready when we got there It was a bit old. It did not have a restaurant that was open for breakfast

Comfortable bed and pillows; beautiful room and bathroom facilities. Separate space for those using a toilet was very nice. Staff was friendly, but not very helpful in suggesting how to find free parking. The staff was not helpful in telling me how to find free parking vs paying $41. per night at the Grand Hotel. I realize we were in the center of the city, but paying $41. per night to park with the hotel was expensive.
Boutique style and decor Concerns cleaning staff stole IPhone
Courtesy and competence of desk staff, especially Carly. Comfortable bed Room design convenient Quiet room Chef does not know how to make oatmeal! Driver of hotel car recommended instead of a taxi did not know how to get to location to which I was going nor how to use GPS on phone and would not call hotel to get information. No drawer unit in room.
The hotel and staff for excellent. Very clean, modern and elegant. And item to note, is people should be told you will need to pay $40 per day to park. I would think parking would come with the hotel. Especially when we were not told this before hand. We were pretty disappointed with this.

everyone was friendly from check to check out. the hotel is spectacular
Parking is inconvenient
It's a nice get a way.
Staff was friendly Clogged sink/then toilet clogged and that wasn't fixed for 12 hours /tv didn't work/glasses not replaced/towels had stains/no fridge where fridge was meant to be/ no offer to move us or compensate us for inconvenience
Beautiful, comfortable rooms with amazing city views. The breakfast suite had beautiful views as well. Room service was extremely fast. Parking fee, even though the website said included. Breakfast needed far more selection. Minor complaint: Would be helpful if the room had USB charging ports for cell phones. Most hotels include ports in their lamps or alarm clocks.
Great location. Skyway and downtown stores & restaurants super convenient. Clean, light and airy. Giant windows. Great beds. Shower leaked and cupboard door fell off despite being fixed once. I was never told the price of parking. Last year it was free. This year it was $22 a day. Would have like to have known. High cost for in room Internet.
Nice location. Decent room. No real complaints.
The room was very spacious. The staff was fairly responsive once we alerted them of the issues. There were several little things that added up to a disappointing stay for us. Wireless internet was not free in our rooms, which I have only ever experienced at a hotel that was SO nice that it made it worth it to come down to the lobby and use the free wifi. This was not, however, SO nice. The lobby area was small. No late checkout? I have literally never heard of this. I wasn't allowed to check in until 3, so why do I have to be out of the room by noon? They forgot to take off the disabled movies from the previous resident. Again - not a huge deal, but when I called the front desk, the person told me "that's just how it is sometimes" and he "doesn't know how the movies work up there." O-kay... so I asked to speak with a manager, and was placed on hold for way too long. Someone finally called us back and fixed it, but at that point we didn't really feel like spending the money on it. They really should have offered us a free movie or something to make up for it. Oh, they forgot towels when cleaning the room. And there were only 2 to begin with. This seems like a pretty basic step. All of this would have been fine/expected at a 2-3 star hotel, but I expected a little better from this one.
Room was clean, nice desk, updated furniture Shower did not drain, bed was curved (so not flat), and the Internet is not free...
The room was nice. Good desk, big tv, mini bar and really nice bathroom. Bed was ok. The view was just of the building across the way. No pool for guests.
Great views, nice room. Room windows were drafty, hotel staff seemed generally clueless about their own hotel.
Location is great close to Target field and Target Center. AC in the room was terrible room was hot and uncomfortable.
The staff was incredibly helpful and polite. Our room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. Was fun being able to stay in downtown minneapolis within walking distance of anything you want to do for nightlife. Can't think of anything negative.
My room was very quiet, staff was friendly, exciting location downtown close to fun bars, covered parking, hotel is less expensive than other downtown hotels, and I needed a wine bottle opener and was given one at no charge.
They were friendly and extremely helpful and accommodating. I was there for a week and they were on top of my needs and requests.
Great service from the minute we walked in the door! It was our 9 anniversary and they wine and dined us till we left. Nothing
Charged extra for everthing rude front desk people Staff attitude
Great location close to the metro. Staff was very helpful and nice. Check in and check out was very quick and easy. Bathroom had no fan and the sliding door wouldn't stay closed all the way. Minor problem though the room was very modern and comfortable.
Proximity to Nicollette Mall Temperature was freezing in meeting rooms, common areas
I liked being able to check in early. The hotel desk staff was very friendly and accomidating. I requesting a single bed but was given a double. When I called to change rooms there was no hassle and a bell hop (also very friendly) came to our room to switch keys with us. The shower water took around 3-5 min to turn up in temperature. I felt like I was just wasting water for it to become semi-warm. Also I went down to use the sauna and it was cold. It took about 30 min for it to become semi-warm as well.
Lounge, Workout Facility, Sauna, and Quiet Room.
We stayed with several other Families and had a great time. All the hotel facilities are newer, clean and functional. No problems at all.
The rooms were very small. It seemed that the room had not been dusted in quite sometime. The temp was almost 80 when we checked in. We had to call for someone to come check. It turned out that we were unable to adjust the temp for the entire stay!!!!! Upon check out we discovered that they had charged us for an extra day of parking. It was taken care of but employee not to happy to do it. I would never ever stay here again and would never recommend it to anyone!!!!!!!! Also apple products do not work in the room.
We have stayed here twice. The hotel is very nice, bar and lobby area are good for hanging out and having a drink or snack. We had a group of 2 families with small children and visited in the lobby, lounge area while ordering food for the kids and having a few drinks. Cozy and stylish. Great service. Rooms clean, but a bit small. Great location, close to Nicollet Mall, Target Center and Loring Park. Good pool and sauna. Would stay again. Rooms a bit small, but it is a city and has a great location.
A wonderful, well kept, well situation hotel in downtown Minneapolis. If you are looking for a nice place to rest without spending too much, this place is for you. Not much negative to say! There was a slight tear in the one sheet on my bed. WiFi costs money here. Im really getting nit picky put Kayak says I have to use 100 characters!
The staff was very helpful and courteous - even the parking attendents and shuttle service were fabulous. The restaurant staff and food was great and were surprised at the moderate prices and amount of food for the dollar. Keep up the good work. There seemed to be a low pitch whining / whirring of something --at all times in our hotel room.
1. Fast Check-in 2. Due to room availability, was allowed to check-in 4 hours priot to normal check-in time (Check-in is at 4, was able to check-in at noon) 3. Very Friendly Staff (At Check-in, In the Cafe, Cleaning Staff, etc) 4. On-site parking was well priced 5. Cafe/Restaurant/Bar/Lounge were nice onsite amenities I would stay here again. Rooms slightly dated and remote was slow to change channels on the TV (I am being overly critical here and this did not play into my rating).
The outside isn't welcoming because it's under construction But once indoors - it's a Cozy and elegant yet affordable hotel Again the exterior looks a bit scary
The location was convenient. Short walk to US Bank arena. Staff was friendly. There was a dog in the room next door that was barking. We alerted the staff. Dog was still barking when we returned. Thankfully within 10 minutes of being back in our room it stopped.
Clean rooms and walking distance to restaurants and other attractions in downtown Minneapolis.
Bed comfort. Parking really BAD. COULDN'T FIND parking. We had my daughter at hospital. We came late. The check in and then relocation to hotel room for people is too far. That was quite a walk for me.
The staff was excellent. Very cold pool. The parking lot needs better lighting.
I liked the location. AWESOME beds - very comfortable. I wish parking could be free and they would offer a complimentary breakfast.
Location, staff and everything were great Nothing to complain about
This is a great hotel in love it. I stay here a lot. The rooms are nice there big too. There is a couple of things they need to work on. They staff always have this bougie I'm better then you attitude every time I go in there now I don't know if it's just me or.... Second I wish they had an adult's only station on the t.v.
The feel and vibe of the place is awesome. It's a cute little building in a sea of mirrored skyscrapers. The guest staff were very friendly and helpful. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of space in our room to spread out and for my daughter to crawl around. Lots of great restuarants are within walking distance and the conference center is only 5 blocks away. They even offer to shuttle you over if you don't want to walk that short distance. The pool was a little cold, not too bad, but it could stand to be warmed up a degree or two. The fitness center is very small but adequate. It wasn't crowded when I uesd it but I could see that it could get filled up very fast at the right time of day. One of the 10lb and one of the 12lb weights were missing so I had to use the 15lbs to have a matched set. But that just made me work a little harder which isn't really a bad thing.
Shuttle to Target Field Very pricey for this hotel. Had to pay for parking.
We liked the location. Lobby is wonderfully furnished. Food at the Beacons was mediocre at best. We ordered $11.00 glasses of wine for 4 adults and the waitress said they must be served in plastic before college game. We looked around and other people were being served with glass glasses. I requested to have ours repoured into glass and she refused. Even after the game when we once more came in, they served us with plastic and others with glass. We left after one round of 4. We will not be returning to the Beacon pre or post game in the future.
The location was ideal since we were in down for a football game and the stadium was only 2 blocks away. Rooms were spacious. I liked the in room coffee, The electric plug ins were hard to use. Half of them would not let you plug anything into them. I found the beds to be hard and the pillows way to soft.
We were told where to park with our fee. As we returned from our outing, there was a tow sticker on our car. How disheartening to travel 6 hours to visit family in the hospital and yet another 2 hour trip after that. What if our car had been towed? Would we have gotten to the hospital to see family or make it to work on time the next day?
The uniqueness of the hotel. Has it's own look - very different than the typical Marriott, Hyatt, etc. Nothing is included! You are charged for every little thing on top of the already over inflated price.
Clean, nice facility, excellent staff interaction, good restaurant and adjoining Starbucks. Great location on U of M campus allowed easy walk across to West Bank.
It was a great location for our needs - the staff were very helpful and friendly There were a number of simple mix-ups in billing - not getting the room we booked - having to move rooms a number of times, but staff worked hard to rectify.
The staff, from the second we walked in to the moment we left were helpful, welcoming and friendly. Very accommodating. They more than made up for the physical flaws and turned the stay from a begrudged expense to a pleasant experience. There was a mistake in our room (probably my fault) and the desk goddess quickly, cheerfully, and effortlessly changed us to a room that suited our needs. For the price we paid I was appalled at the condition of the carpeting; stained beyond belief, worn, frayed. Frankly it was shocking. I know, a dumb thing to be shocked at but it was that bad. The ice machines didn't work on several floors. Parking was ridiculous; we had to pay for it and still couldn't park in the hotel lot, necessitating extra hassle on our parts. It is my understanding that there were some events going on that night (weddings, I'm guessing) that filled up the hotel lot but it seems to me it would be more equitable for those attendees to park in the parking garage rather than sending the overnight guests to the parking garage across the street.
Room was dirty. The cosmetic comforter had a blood stain (or something that looked like blood). Bellhop answered the phone every 1/3 times. Shuttle ride to conference center was very stuffy, hot.
The shower is amazing! Comfortable beds. All of the staff was VERY friendly and helpful. Free shuttle. I was charged $256 per night for the same room that costed $120 in May of this year. Parking is $15 per night. I called days ahead asking for a certain view, didn't happen.
Sophisticated Get beds The staff was super friendly The fee for parking
Excellent location! Good service. Fun and relaxed atmosphere.
Beautiful lobby and rooms. Internet per night was not included, nightly valet fee's, complimentary breakfast was not complimentary. Restaurant/bar closed early on the weekends.
I was told I couldn't check in therefore waisted $130 to sit at a library for 5hrs and never got a chance to see a room
The location was great The room was very small, we were told we would get a roll away that never came, so one of us had to sleep on the floor ! When we complained they said they couldn't discount the room as an apology due to the fact we booked through a booking service. Huge disappointment to an otherwise great trip to Minneapolis !
The room was really nice and so was the bathroom! The food was delicious at the hotel and the fitness center was nice! You could tell the supervisor was judging us by the way we were dressed. We were dressed in comfy clothes being we had to drive 4 hours. As soon as we came down after checking in dressing up nice, he looked at us different like he misjudged us. That was the only bad thing being it was rude.
Loved the location, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Lots of towels provided and the complimentary water was a nice little bonus. Bed was very comfortable. The shower did not seem clean, there were mildew stains and lots of hair. There was some minor damage to the walls. Not as "luxurious" as I had expected.
it was very clean and quiet. The staff was very nice and accommodating. Nothing
Comfortable bed and restraunt was good. Had to pay for internet. Parked across the street in a parking structure recommended by hotel and couldn't get to my car in the morning. Some of the staff kind of rude.
The bed was super comfy, and the staff were really nice and helpful. It is a beautiful hotel with a lot of character in it's design and it feels really safe and quiet overall. I enjoyed my stay. There was an earring in our shower which made me question whether or not they had cleaned it.
Everything was fine until I got home found a bunch spam requesting how every goddamn thing about my trip was. Fucking *unsubscribe*
Very centralized location, easy to access, reasonable parking. Staff was very helpful - extended my stay by one night after booking through third party, and they honored the online price for the additional night. Impressive.
The room was very clean. The valet parking employee was extremely sassy and rude towards us!
Great rooms. Very comfortable and quiet hotel. Unfortunately I was charged $14 for logging on to the Internet for about 1 minute but other than that my stay was great.
I just loved this hotel it is close to everything. A convenient walk from the light rail and Nicollet mall
Very nice and comfortable. Rooms were inviting and home like Our room had some things left behind in the dresser that weren't to appealing.
Very modern and clean. Very comfortable beds. Great location to be able to walk around to downtown locations. Parking was expensive especially for a one day stay.
Comfortable bed and clean room The TV and most of the lights didn't work. I called the front desk twice and both times they said they were sending a tech to fix it. No one showed up. I then walked down to the front desk and asked, they said there were sending someone up. No one every showed up. Had to watch football game at the bar.
The room was decent and clean. Fairly close to downtown Minneapolis attractions. $200 extra held upon check-in for "incidentals". Parking is extra $. Fees upon fees upon fees for everything you can think of. Don't even bother with room service.
Staff was very friendly and helped us with anything we needed. The pool experience was terrible. Over-chlorinated to the point where my son was coughing and couldn't breathe. Even my throat was burning, and I wasn't even swimming.
Loved the room with the tall ceilings. The view was horrible from our window. There were not enough towels. The noise was so bad from the hallway that it kept us up for most of the night. Very thin walls.
Clean, quiet and comfortable hotel. Expensive to park, if you are driving.
Hotel was clean. Workout facility and swimming pool was great, but I do agree with other reviewers that the chlorine made my eyes sting. Location was great. We pulled up and the valet told us of a parking ramp attached to the sky way that offered cheaper parking! So kind of him and it saved us $20. We could hear normal conversation through the walls and ALL the hallway noise. I have had quieter rooms at a "non-luxury hotel". This hotel promotes itself as luxury hotel, but we have stayed at Hampton Inns that were so much quieter. I honestly prefer the Hampton Inn over this hotel.
The lobby and restaurant are in a beautiful old bank building that has been restored. The rooms are modern and clean.
We were in town to attend a Twins baseball game, so this was a perfect location to walk to the ballpark. It's also close to a lot of great restaurants and other downtown activities. We came back to the hotel for nightcap and the bar had already closed down. Other than leaving the property, we didn't have another option. It wasn't even midnight on a Thursday night. Seemed odd for a downtown hotel.
Staff was friendly. Bar staff was fun. Convenient location. The cost if the hotel was great until you realize that parking is not included. Valet is $40+. Most offer thato with no extra cost or a much smaller fee. Parked on my own to avoid that, and it was still $20 overnight fee.
Not much Was never told once through the entire billing and check in process that there would be extremely loud construction directly above our room on the roof from 8am-noon. Employees at check in could not care less about our terrible experience. I am 26 and I have never written a review. Hope this hotel goes out of business.
Clean, nice location only three blocks from the light rail. Good bar on site. Everyone there was awesome! Nothing
Fantastic service, great staff, beautiful lobby. Very comfortable bed. Rooms were quiet and restful. Some of the furniture was a little beat-up, though not very bad. Room was a little dark; would have appreciated one more lamp.
Queen beds were nice and the bathroom was big. Market in the lobby had a good variety of snacks/fruit (a bit pricey). My room didn't have a fridge, but they got one to me in less than 1/2 hour. Very nice staff! Parking right there and not too expensive ($17/day) Room took a bit to cool off, but was nice once it did. At check in I was told that since I booked through a third party (Kayak), they put a $200 hold on my credit card that I would get back. I don't travel much, so I didn't understand this. The room was already nonrefundable.
The room was a great space. Everything was excellent and the staff was super friendly and helpful. No hot tub.
Hotel has an amazing gym with great equipment and a full size indoor basketball course. The room service and valet was excellent, and food was good. Stayed here while Meta-Con was being hosted by the hotel and it was extremely crowded, kids seemed to be having fun but most were obnoxious, rude, and out of line. I wouldn't stay here if the hotel was hosting this event again.
-Club floor ($30 extra per night provides continental breakfast and dinner hors d'oeuvres) -Comfortable beds -Nice view -Affordable parking with in/out priviliges -More food options during continental breakfast
Good location Rowdy, loud guests made for an unusual and unpleasant stay. this is a very basic, utilitarian hotel.
close to the metrodome and to downtown minneapolis the cab fair was good and easy to tell how to get back to hotel
Restaurant, beds, location near highway, lobby area with piano and fireplace. Would have liked a complimentary breakfast...
Quiet, access to u of mn and Excel Energy Center
The staff were exceptionally friendly and went out of our way to assist us. No
Courtesy of the staff, environmentally conscious and the restaurant was great. It will be great to have a shower by the pool for cleaning before getting into the pool or Jacuzzi.
Hotel location is in an industrial park business area and while that was convenient for my purpose it is not near many restaurants, shopping or other attractions.
Room. Location. Accessibility. Atmosphere down town Minneapolis. No fan in bathroom. Parking ramp is challenging to navigate.
Had a great stay. Room was neat and clean. Parking - not to the fault of the hotel. The city owns the parking lot. It was still cheaper and secure than parking on the street.
