Employees are great and helpful! Great location. More of a business hotel. I booked a partial view of the bay room and it was just that. Expected a bit more than what I was hoping for and was let down. Unexpected charges.
-location -black hair in the sink -red hair in the folded towels -mold on the ceiling -lack of communication about when our room was ready
Very nice room when we finally got what we requested. Really helpful staff. Loved the daily wine tasting. On site parking was awesome. Perfect location. Didn't have the bay view room we requested (overbooked-not ok) so we were stuck on a lower floor the first night which was incredibly noisy. Also it was Gay Pride weekend so it was crazy there. The next two nights we had a top floor bay view room which was awesome except there was this random really loud noise (elevator grinding or something ) that woke us up several times each night.
Location is great....rooms are small but comfortable. Bathrooms are extra small. Staff is friendly and amenities are nice Amazing to find free wifi at a hotel these days
Great hotel - reasonable for downtown hotel Everything was great
Great location, nice modern design inside, reasonably comfy beds. We arrived around midnight and needed another set of towels so we could all shower. They said sure, they'd send them up. An hour later, no towels. Called down, asked them to leave them in the hall so we'd at least have enough towels in the morning. They said sure, we'll do that, sorry for the delay. Morning comes - no towels.
Complimentary wine ; bed comfortable; quick check in: room was nice; location; Temperature in the fitness was far too warm: could not adjust. Called staff but no response
The motif is a great place to stay. I went to Seattle with my boyfriend to celebrate his birthday. It was the perfect location as it is in the middle of downtown Seattle. We didn't have to go far to get a bite to eat or to have a few drinks. It's a nice hotel, the rooms were clean and it was very spacious. Coffee and water in room. They upgraded our room since it was a special occasion. Overall I had a great time and I will stay there again when I go back to Seattle.
Great location, friendly, helpful staff. Only stayed one night so we didn't get to sample all the amenities. Bed wasn't as comfortable as we are used to.
The location was excellent in the center of everything. Two blocks to convention center. Five to Pike's Place Market. Close to numerous excellent restaurants. Walking distance to Space Needle and Frontier Square. Rooms a little tight for more than a couple nights.
This hotel deserves a high rating! the location is great so close to everything, approximately a 8 minute walk from several places. If you are taking Uber there is an easy drop off/ pick up location right in front of the hotel. Very Modern and a great view! Staff was so sweet and they all wanted us to get the most out of Seattle. The staff will change your towels only if you make it obvious, they will restock and clean but towels were the only problem. Also the bathroom was nice but a bit small.
Great hotel overall. There is a bar area on the terrace thats a great place to hangout and have a few drinks. Friendly staff, comfortable beds, even helped me out with my toothpaste i forgot at home. Close to pikes market and everything down town. Nothing, it was a great experiece.
Would've appreciated prior information on airport shuttle, but got nothing. Concierge Couldn't locate my reservation. Got a handicap room, okay, but right next to the elevator, so very noisy. Paper thin walls, could hear the people in the next room talking as if they were in my room. At least put insulation into the shared door! Hair in the shower when we arrived. Toilet was running non-stop. Maintenance man came to fix it twice, both times came unannounced. Closet sucked, hangers weren't even high enough to hang a dress shirt without hitting the floor.
Good location Conceiger was unhelpful. She had zero interest in assisting.
Nice, well-kept up. Good location.
The clean place and very good view ! No microwave . And I can not get warm water when I get tummy ache .And we hope next time we can see it there:) and no free wifi. The lobby wifi is good but upstairs have no wifi connection . .........do we really need to write that much and hope right now the word number is good enough to send
Cleanliness, great linens and mattresses, accommodating staff All good Was under the impression I could self-park my car.... Had to pay the exhorbitantly priced valet parking for my stay. $43.00 a day. Really?!
how helpful the women at the desk who were juggling multiple task and were able to find us a car in the 9th hour.
Vey clean rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. Great location in the city. Love the view. And very affordable Nothing
The bed/bedding was amazing Having to pay for room internet
The staff made sure we were accommodated during our stay, they even welcomed our small dog with no added cost. We were having issues with our home and needed to stay in a hotel local. I'm so glad the Sheraton is where we picked.
reservation process easy and hotel wonderful.
The location was perfectly located to walk to the Seattle Aquarium and the other downtown shopping, food, and tourist attractions. The staff was fantastic as well! Our hotel room didn't have a great view and the beds were not the most comfortable. The guide on the tv didn't work so we struggled to find child appropriate programs while we were in the room.
Your staff is professional and friend. The location is convenient and the facility is good. I would recommend your hotel to my friends and colleagues. The hotwater system needs to be upgraded.
Renovations at the restaurant caused slow service for dinner, location a bit further from eateries than thought
great bed and view from the 29th floor. staff was very accommodating. up the hill the first time was a little tough but it really wasn't that bad. the hotel lobby smells like the restaurant which can get a little overwhelming when first walking in.
good beds old room, no hot tub
The staff was friendly We had dinner at the hotel and were not mentioned any of the specials going on for New Years so that was poor I thought and the hotel and our room smelled like chlorine, which is not something that you want to smell in your room, also when your paying for a room you should not have to pay $32 for parking, when we paid for the room and dinner.
Close to all the life of the city e.g. water, restaurants, shopping, etc.. I had booked for three rooms and when checking in the front desk let me know I had booked for 5 rooms? I showed them my booking and they said I would have to go back to booking.com
Parking attendants were not friendly; made it very uncomfortable to valet park my car. It also became annoying when they were not readily available.
The room was spacious! Breakfast food options and service were terrible and to make it worse, I had pre-booked it for three mornings... It was one awful meal experience!
The location was great, we had a huge room, and the staff was exceptional. We were able to check in early -a blessing- since we had just finished a cruise and had no where to put our bags. We were also able to leave out bags for free after check-out when we has several hours to kill before heading to the airport. I wish there had been a pool, and the restaurant prices were 10% too high for the quality.
Location is good. Staff is extremely disrespectful and not willing to help.
Friendly staff and central location. Having to pay for internet!
Fabulous views from our room. Very convenient location. Parking valet is inconvenient and expensive.
The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. You felt welcome from the time you walked in the hotel until you walked out. The location was excellent with easy walking acess to Downtown Seattle. Nothing negative about the hotel during my stay.
the comfort of the room.
Staff always made us feel pampered. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast buffet was good. Well-maintained, very clean, nicely designed and decorated. Convenient location. Construction noise from the skyscraper going up next door. Said skyscraper also blocked view. Unfortunately, neither is within their control, but did cost them a star overall.
The smell of the lobby is amazing!!! Rooms are really nice. Bathrooms are nice Ice machines only on the 6th and 16th floors. No pool.
Clean hotel. Nice weight room. Wait for check in was very long. On a Friday night at 6 PM there was only one receptionist checking in patrons. We waited almost one hour in this line. Expensive parking (~40 per night.)
excellent service and attention to detail by staff. Lounge and restaurant very inviting areas and R View (restaurant on 28th floor) has a phenomenal view! 5 to 6 blocks easy walk to shopping and restaurants or Pike's Market. Free breakfast or parking on weekend. Breakfast is hot and has a great menu (not continental). Menu at R View is limited, and a little pricey for the small amount of food served. Parking is $30 a day. Some people not in good physical shape might find the walk from the hotel difficult and long.
The location and views of Puget Sound/Seattle are amazing. And the staff was friendly and helpful - the concierge team was especially knowledgable for visitors like us that wanted to truly explore! The lobby seemed outddated (looked like there were about to start renovation though), and the under-building parking seemed antiquated. Next time, we will just use Metro transit and taxis.
The rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean. The concierge(s) were very helpful and friendly. The location was pretty good- walking distance to many attractions. I was not informed when I checked in that a fee of $150 would be held off my card for the duration of my stay at the hotel. I checked out yesterday and have not had the money return to my account yet.
Convenient to my meeting and public transit.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Renaissance. We especially appreciated the free room service breakfasts. What a treat! The room was very nice and we were very comfortable. The television could have offered more selections. We wanted to watch the Huskies game and the station that the game was on wasn't available.
Location and how nice the rooms where The hot water was a problem... Barely could get any and allot of times I got burned. I called to have them fix it and nothing changed.
Old charm with all the comforts
I liked being welcomed at the door by 3 people. The rug in the elevator was an unexpected treat and photo op. The room was plush. The bar was a relaxing place for a drink and dinner which was very good. It was also good to find parking nearby on the street. I didn't like that I wasn't told that there would be an incindental charge on my card for possible expenses incurred in the room. The next day I saw the charge and called the hotel and was then told why. She said it was something we should have been informed of. The charge "fell off" the next day.
restaurant and service Noisy courtyard, thin walls
This is a great hotel. The lobby and rooms look beautiful. The staff are awesome and willing to help. The bar and restaurant staff are great. The place is clean and conveniently located. What's not to like about this place.
Front desk was so nice Hotel felt tired and was smelly
The old feel of the hotel. I didn't get to stay outside the room much so most of my review is about that. I'm surprised based on the cost you don't get anything from the minibar. Even in the sweet it's basically a large room. The beds were nice and soft and the rooms were comfortable renovations. That still had old furnaces but the hot water never runs out. There are bathrobes to relax in. The location seems to be in a bad part of town.
I stay at a hotels a lot and what I normally consider a great experience is when a hotel does a great job of alleviating the inconvenience of not being at my own house with my own stuff and kitchen. But the sorrento is a whole other thing. It's effing fabulous. I felt instantly relaxed and at home, if my home were a huge gilded age mansion. The food is wonderful, the staff is very available, the lobby area- I just wanted to hang out there and not go out. Even the courtyard, which is on a busy street, was like a cocoon. The whole experience was like being in another better world. AND there was tons of free street parking within a 2 blocks radius! The one lame thing was there is only one elevator, but it is a genuinely old building, and what're you gonna do? It moved fast- you could tell they've made an effort to make it as speedy as possible. And it had a rug that said the day of the week! Which is more reassuring than you might think when you are travelling.
Very quite and friendly. Jerry was awesome this place is so nice will be back again
From the moment we pulled up to the hotel, the service was fantastic. Jerry helped us with our bags, showed us around the hotel--giving a great history of the décor, and then walked us up to our room. He gave us advice on where to go and what to do. The staff at the desk and the bar were just as attentive and kind. The room was the perfect size for the two of us, and all necessary items were stocked and clean. It was a great visit!
Thanks to Desiree, Steve, and everyone else who made our stay a great one! And, thanks for the sparkling wine!
Wine happy hour, nice rooms, staff usually friendly Bed was horrible! My body is killing me! Parking is crazy expensive (especially when you're already paying over $250 a night).
Close to office Not enough menu variety, unfriendly atmosphere, uptight environment, location of in room bar in double queen inconvenient, needs more lighting, views are not appealing; closed blinds entire stay
The location was great for the downtown seminar I attended Paying the very high parking fee
No vending machines, no breakfast
The location is excellent for shopping, good eating spots, walking, and many more!! The staff are very friendly and also the room is always clean every time we stay.
The room itself was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The location is central. The price very reasonable for downtown Seattle. Parking is expensive (but again its downtown Seattle). There are no amenities at this hotel. No restaurant. No bar. No pool. No room service (no food at all) Coffee by the front desk is about it. Additionally, the hotel does not have much character and neither do the rooms.
The location is great. The staff was very concerned and tried to be gelpful The hotel had no record of my reservation; if I hadn't been able to show my prepaid reservation on my phone, I would have had to pay again. The room was tiny; the hotel has no amenities, not even a vending machine. When I returned at 5:00pm my room had not been cleaned. Definitely not worth the $200 plus per night I paid.
Hotel was very clean. We had five rooms, two of them were not ready when we checked in and the staff was very quick to give the guys two MUCH nicer and bigger rooms in response. Overnight parking may have been a little spendy but it seemed very fair to not have to hunt through downtown for a better deal (and to have the car in an accessible location). It was very easy to get to our meeting in Queen Anne and then very easy to walk through the city when the work day was over. I would definitely stay here next time I am in the city for a fun weekend.
The vintage look of the hotel & the location. The staff were very friendly & helpful. The room was small, but very clean. We would definitely stay there again if we were able to get a good price. There really aren't any amenities. No hot tub or pool & most important no breakfast.
small rooms, bathroom
The management was very rude and non understanding
I enjoy the charm of older hotels and this one fit the bill. I paid $120 including tax through Kayak. The location is excellent. There’s a lot of variation in the room sizes. My son and daughter-in-law were at first assigned to a room so tiny that they could hardly walk around the bed, but they asked for a larger one and were assigned a very nice room with lots of space and a large sofa. My room was large with two queen beds and a love seat. The beds and pillows were great! I read the signs about saving energy, so hung up my towels and bathmat to keep them from being washed every day but I guess the housekeeping staff couldn’t read and replaced them every day anyway! Our big problem was the smokers!! I spent some time in my son’s large room, and was nearly knocked over by the strong smell of smoke in the hall. We complained to the front desk numerous times, and they kept saying that they would handle it and let us know, but it never improved. The first evening, after hours of smoke, we finally smelled some air freshener spray trying to cover the odor. We were told that a flight crew were the culprits, but they were obviously not told to leave if they were going to smoke, since it happened again the next day. My son and his wife were offered another room for their last night, but that’s a major pain to move. It’s hard to believe that a hotel cannot handle law-breakers in their establishment!
Beautiful room. Stores and bars all around. Close to the bus stop and light rail. The elevators were small and only two for 20 floors and no pool.
Location was excellent and there were no unpleasant surprises Pretty bland and indistinguishable from all the others - -no character, especially for a place named after TR On way out, front desk did not have the ability to change a $20 bill - -what's up with that?
I needed to change the day of my stay and the staff was very courteous and flexible. The hotel is located in the center of the shopping and restaurant area. Very beautiful place.
Gym was awesome , BEST hotel gym I have ever been to. Super clean and great equipment and organization. I thought it was ridiculous that we had to pay extra for internet in the room, I can't remember the last time I was at a hotel and the internet was covered.
I liked the quality of the bedding but we the bed didnt have a top sheet just the duvet and a sheet on the mattress. Pillows were nice and fluffy. No free wifi. You have to pay extra for almost everything even over night parking in the garage. There was construction going on which we didnt hear but they put temorary lables on the elevator buttons that were not very clear. We were not the only ones that had issues.
Very central to all points of downtown. Clean and modern with a friendly staff.
Great location for convention center.
I liked the location most, very convenient to everything. Room was nice, love water in lobby too The cost of parking, no free wifi, bathroom was incredibly tiny.
Excellent, friendly service, I would definitely return to this hotel. First given a "17" room, went to the front desk and Lin very kindly moved us to a different room, which was larger and brighter.
Classy. Clean. Kind helpful staff. Great location.
So mess up
The room was clean and had a great location to downtown.
Great proximity to sites of interest. Our ceiling would occasionally leak over the entryway floor.
Excellent customer service. Convenient location for public transit and walking around downtown and Capitol Hill. Great deal for kitchenette and workout room. Will stay again, highly recommend.
Excellent! Lots of room, comfortable, clean, good complimentary breakfast & dinner. Two Big TV's, in LR and BR; giant bathroom. Good location, everything downtown a short walk away. Quiet, good privacy. I'll stay here again, EVERY time. What's not to like?
I liked how the rooms were bigger than expected. The way I was treated @ the front desk by the clerk, he was short w/ me while talking & kind of rude.
The front desk staff were amazing! So nice and helpful!
The front desk staff were extremely helpful at check in and also when we asked for assistance about shopping etc. The breakfast is very good. We appreciated the availability of a free shuttle to places of interest, the valet parking, and the free newspaper. When we arrived it was dark and we drove past as the signage is not that good.
They were very accommodating. We arrived late in the evening and very tired from the drive. As soon as we got to the front desk, they told us that a pipe had burst and that our room was flooded. Before we could even say anything in response, the manager said he had booked us at a different hotel that was closer to where we wanted to be, had comp'ed our room and hotel parking, and gave us a letter to give to the next hotel. The next hotel had a friendly front desk, the rooms were nice and the breakfast was very good. Not just cold cereal but actual pastries and hot food. Would stay there again for sure. I never like staying at a hotel where you have to pay for parking, especially when there's no airport shuttle.
The hotel staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The breakfast and dinner feature was a nice option as I was traveling on business. Room was spacious and nicely decorated. The major negative feature of this hotel was the highway right outside the front of the hotel. It was very loud in the room even late at night due to trucks especially. Earplugs were provided; however, the constant hum became irritating after a day or two. Maybe replace the windows in the front hotel rooms to be more noise blocking.
Breakfast is awesome! Linens got stained and the room smells awful paid 50+ for valet.. Ridiculous! No self parking btw
From the time we checked in until we checked out everyone of the staff members that we encountered was friendly and helpful. All of the accommodations at this hotel during our stay was exactly what we would expect from a stay at a Homewood Suites by Hilton. There was nothing that we did not like.
Nice clean room with all the amenities I could need.
The price and the convenience of being close to the hospital. Because of my bad back, I requested a recliner chair to use as a sleeper for the night at check-in and the lady said she'd check but I never received a chair or a reply.
The hotel has a very different nature on weekends when it is a more typical and quiet tourist hotel. On weekdays it primarily accommodates guests visiting patients at the hospital and has much more activity.
The service overall was very good at this hotel. Recption staff was very good. and helpful.
The hotel was quiet, the rooftop view, It's incredibly hot because there is no air conditioning. Our view was the hospital where we can see patients laying in their bed, can barely open windows
The personnel at the reception and hotel location. The cleaning personnel was not too friendly, but not unfriendly either. Also, we found a couple beer based alcopop cans under one of the bed and some old socks. But my intuition says that this is a case of "when you pay bananas, you get monkeys". Also, as customary as it might be in Seattle/Washington, an 18 dollar parking feels a bit much. We stayed in a 50-dollar-a-night-hotel in Portland (walking distance from the city center just as Inn at Virginia Mason) the night before arriving at Seattle, which included a simple, but free continental breakfast and free parking. Also, in Europe/Asia/N-America I've easily managed to find hotels with free parking.
The room was excellent. The mattress, once I laid down, I didn't toss and turn. I felt like I was in my own home. It would have been nice if there was a chair in the closet area as well to put your shoes on or whatever, since there is that much room. The hotel parking is a block away down a steep, steep hill. No wonder they are next to a hospital. By the time you reach the top of the grade, you go into cardiac arrhythmia. The breakfast kitchen was closed, so you had to go out for breakfast. The roof top garden leaves a lot to be desired.
Very convenient to the convention center (my venue) at half the price of the big names. Staff was very helpful in finding dining unique to Seatle. A five block walk back to the hotel was quite a hill climb.
This is a very comfortable hotel to stay in if you have family in, or appointments at Virginia Mason Hospital. You don't have to go outside from the hotel for meals or trips to the hospital or clinic. It's very comfortable with a great restaurant.
location and convenience for medical purposes at the Hospital didn't have a twin room as per our reservation so had a single queen
The food was very good and reasonably priced for Seattle and the staff were friendly and helpful. The public areas are pleasantly decorated but the whole place is old. The Hotel is obviously used by friends and relatives to visit with patients in the adjacent Virginia Mason Hospital and some of those patients come into the Hotel to dine etc. It is possible to walk to the downtown areas but it is quite a walk and the streets have steep gradients (rather like San Fransisco). The Hotel is obviously allied to the adjacent major hospital. There are passageways between the Hotel and the hospital. The reception is shared with an adjacent Hotel / Apartment complex across the street. The street is closed and the whole site is a construction zone. There is no easy parking unless you can find valet parking in a nearby Hotel or can find local on street parking in a non meter area. The bathrooms are rather like hospital bathrooms. The building is old and the air conditioning works in some rooms and not others - there is no individual room control. The air conditioning system on the roof of an adjacent hospital building is very noisy and goes 24/7 - there are notices on the windows warning of construction site noise.
Absolutely every one we came across went out of their way to help us in any way they could. Don't think we have every stayed in a place as friendly as your hotel!!! Made me want to move to Seattle! I think the only thing I can come up with that we didn't like was the fact that the television didn't work. Other wise everything was A ok!
