Convenience to venue that I attended, clean, surprisingly quiet, good food Bit basic and tele was hard to work with remote but this is minor
The staff were friendly and helpful, the bistro was good, was very quiet considering rooms were above a hotel Exterior lighting shone directly into the room at night
Quiet and easy access to central station. Clean basic rooms. No frills Ventilation could be better in bathroom but not offensive
How friendly and helpful the staff were
The fact that we were so very accessible to all forms of public transport, the lovely location of Surry Hills with its beautiful, tree lined streets and many eatieries - all within very easy walking distance of the hotel. Also, the fact that. despite being on a busy road, we could hear nothing of the traffic, trains or public. The room was excellently maintained during our stay and staff very hospitable and friendly, We loved it and would happily return - soon!
Very good (spacious, clean) room. Room was close to the bar, where party lasted till 4 a.m.
Excellent position for city stay and right next ot Central Station. Excellent bar and TAB facilities. Good value meals. Room fairly plain and dark. No remote for the TV.
Great location. Nice comfortable room. Friendly staff Little bit noisy earlier on. Pub downstairs a bit drunken
Closeness to city attractions and Central Station. Everything was fine. Parking a bit of a hassle - but no great drama.
it was very close to the "central station" there was a strange smell in the room. internet service not available. noisy during the night
It is close to Central Station It's a dump!
You can't beat the location for convenience to Central Station, and a great range of bars and restaurants within a short walk. It's nothing fancy - no lobby or other amenities, but rooms are comfortable and very reasonably priced. The WiFi can be slow, depending on your room location and proximity to a router.
easy access, close to city and on bus routes
It was noisy the 1st night with some backpackers who keep slamming their doors throughout the night. The toilet was always occupied in the morning with backpackers queuing to bath. The advantage was it was near the railway and main road, but also means that it is quite noisy.
Wasn't particularly impressed with anything. First two rooms we were shown were in a really bad state. Very run down and damp. Eventually the third room we were shown was exceptable but not great.
Location We booked a private room and our bathroom was incredibly dirty and disgusting. The room smelled and was very dirty (including the bed). We changed hostels after the first night.
Fairly clean and quiet. One of the cheaper options. Small room, reception apparently opened at 8:00am but I was there waiting until 8:45 for someone to turn up so I could check in. Bathrooms were terrible, one shower wasn't working and one had no lock. Also security card opened two doors (not visible from each other) at the same time (there are two sides to the hostel) so if you entered one door the other would be open for anyone to enter!!
centrally located and close to central station. handy if catching a plane sqeaky fire door next to room - noisy at night
Cheap, good location. Kitchens too small for the amount of guests, not enough cooking equipment (only one fork!), room was too hot ( warmer than rest of hostel), no permanent member of staff to talk to to get stuff sorted out (when we complained about lack of cutlery all they could do was pass on a message), unfriendly due to layout of the two buildings (couldn't eat in the outdoor area without taking our food out into the street first)
it was close to where I needed to go. the cleaner was friendly. it was easy to book. hot water in one of the male showers was inconsistant
Home backpackers is very affordable and good for the money your paying. I prefer a side to b side although both sides are both good. It's awesome that it's so close to the main city and central I soul definitely stay here again and probably every time I stay in Sydney. The bathroom got quite dirty but I would probably just put that down to dirty backpackers
