Baggage got lost

The staff and service of SIngapore Airlines is hard to beat. They are excellent. If they could only figure out their call center fiasco it would be a top airline. Attempting to call SQ is like trying to talk to the dead.

Delays were given at intervals. So we were informed

Ulemper: "they walked past me twice with introductory drinks without stopping and offering me one, I then had to ask for one.. not good. the younger staff need to develop the wonderful standard of the older staff."

Ulemper: "Positively ancient entertainment system with poor selection and bad visual quality. Ads pop up every time you go into another menu. If you're flying SIN->BNE I'd avoid the 7.20am departure, you'll get the old 777-200s rather than the A350s they run on other departures."

Ulemper: "I Booked a flight that stated that it only had one stop in singapore, then direct to SFO after arriving in singapore i was told that i had to go to a transfer counter, that there was a problem with my ticket. after arriving at the transfer counter they took my boarding pass for my dircet flight to SFO, & told me that i now had a stop in hong kong, that the direct flight to SFO was over booked!! this is not right i wouldn't of booked this flight if they had been truthfull about the extra stop. i will never use singapore airline or kayak again!!!"

Unfortunately it was a short flight so I didn't et a chance to experience the whole service properly as I needed. I felt like royalty with the service offered by your staff who consistantly came to check if everything was in order without making a nuisance. Fantastic food and beverage options too. Overall a great experience, but would have liked it to be a 12hr experience instead of 5."

Ulemper: "-carry-on did not fit on center overhead compartment unless I put it side ways, which then takes up space for other passengers. Same carry-on suitcase fit nicely on Emirates airplanes. Basically, carry-on overhead compartments have been made smaller on purpose or by engineering error, and this makes me not want to fly Qatar airlines again. Less food options. I went to the Gally and they only had kitkat bars for food. Emirates offer fruit, sandwiches, and many choices at ALL TIMES of the flight for economy class."
Fordele: "I was surprised with the quality of gluten free meals served for me, it was well organised and taken care of where I never had to wait. My flight schedules were changed few days before departure by Qatar Airways, but only thing I had to do was to confirm that I have noted, my seats and all the rest of details intact, excellent."
Ulemper: "The change of my flight schedule for the entire journey was done without giving me any options (departure flights from origin and return). It would have caused me inconvenience if the change of time does not allow me to adjust my plans."

Seating has more space.Connecting flight good. Food is good. They have to stop serving the cold dish which more than 90% of the passengers didn't eat.

Ulemper: "People traveling on this sector just don't know how to behave. It's amazing how the crew puts up with this. As the food service is going on, there were several people who wanted to move up and down the aisle disrupting the service several times. When the flight was taxiing after landing, people had already got up from their seats and were trying to take their bags. Despite many announcements, pax did not care. Hats off to the crew who patiently handled it."

Ulemper: "We were sitting in row 36 (D,E,F,G). Everything was fine until we realized there was a leak in the plane. On take off and landing the A/C leaked all over our clothes and seats. When we reacted and stood up, the flight attendant screamed at us and told us to sit down. Afterwards, the flight attendant asked us what was wrong and she had realized that the AC had leaked on us. All she did was put towels on our seat and walked away. For at least 10 minutes I had to raise a towel to catch the water from dripping onto our heads during lift off and landing."

Constantly having to tap hard is probably annoying to the person in front, also Worry that the TV heating up is probably not great for the head resting on the seat"

Ulemper: "The crew didn't warn us that they would be collecting the Emirates provided headphones during their final "prepare for landing" check of the cabin... so I was near the end of a movie and sans headphones! WTF? And because the fasten seat belt sign was on in preparation for landing, I couldn't fish through my carry on in the overhead compartment to find the ones I'd brought. Thats SUPER sh*tty to your customers. Just not ok!"
Fordele: "The entertainment is excellent- so many choices. I also really appreciated having a plug and a port in the house seat, I could keep my devices charged and feel free to use them as much as I liked. The attendants were friendly and helpful the entire flight."
Ulemper: "The food was not amazing, for a near 17 hour flight, I think 1 more snack would have been welcome. Also a personal bottle of water would have been great. I had to ask for water several times and I noticed lots of other passengers doing the same."

Ulemper: "This whole flight experience was a nightmare. I understand that there were very serious unforseen circumstances that day, with the Emirates flight from Trivandrum crash landing at the airport. As such the 4 hour delay that was announced was not a problem. The problem came after the airport resumed operations. We were told repeatedly that we would board any moment from 5:30pm onwards. As such, we did not go very far from the gate. We were even invited to go into the gate area no less than 3 times, before we were forced to leave. No one provided information. All we knew was that we were waiting for the crew to arrive. It took another SIX hours (in addition to the 4 hour delay) before we actually boarded. If we had even slightly better information, we could have at least found a comfortable chair a ways away from the gate and gotten a few hours of sleep. But it felt as if the ground staff constantly toyed with us, making us stay within a close radius of the gate but not providing any accurate or reliable information. I have come to expect the best from Emirates. But their actions were pitiful on this day."
Fordele: "The flight itself was fantastic. Perfection as usual. Emirates is surely neck to neck with Singapore Airlines for the number one spot of the best airline in the world."
Ulemper: "1. I joined at Bangalore. The staff worked strictly according to the rules. While this is good it lends itself to passenger discomfort at times. Example: I had only 1 suitcase of 45 pounds, and I had a hand baggage of 13.7 kgs, because I was carrying all my precious crystalware back to Houston. The attendant kept insisting I lighten the hand baggage to les than 7 kgs. Finally he even suggested I send the hand baggage as checked luggage. He must be insane! I had a few thousand dollars worth of crystal in that hand bag and there was no way I'd send as checked luggage. Finally, I lightened the load to 10 kgs and called his manager and I was allowed to carry the hand luggage. 2. On landing at Dubai, everything unraveled. The airport was full of thousands of stranded passengers because 18 hours ago a plane had crash-landed at the tarmac causing flight cancellations. Obviously Emirates was poorly prepared for handling this this emergency. Many of the passengers, including myself, ended up standing at the customer service counters (there were about 10 customer service stations all over the airport), and every customer station had about 500 irate passengers and 3 or 4 agents handling them. Not only that, the customers were standing in stuffy atmosphere, no fod no water for hours, many mothers were desperate with children. Emirates had no idea how to handle this situation. I caught hold of a senior police official and told him that the least he could do was to give the customers some bottled water to keep them hydrated. Within minutes, in typical Arab hospitality - many cases of bottled water showed up, followed by cupcakes and then Mango Frootis. This helped to calm the passengers down. Then there was the chaos of everyone crowding the service desk. No lines, no semblance of order. After discussion with the policeman, we installed barriers for that passengers would stand single file. One thing that was very wrong and out of our control was there were only 3, sometimes 4, persons behind the desk, attending to more than 500 stranded passengers at each station. I reckon we would need at least 20 or 30 staff at each station. I noted that at each customer depot there were at least 10 computer stations at our service station, but only 3 were manned. Also, there was no one to advise the passengers on their status, what arrangements were being made, what the status update of the situation was...... nothing. We just stood in a bunch at the customer service desk and hoped for some attention. Appalling. Emirates needs to beef up their crisis management strategies. As a Crisis Manager myself, I was appalled to see how poor their capability to respond to a crisis situation was. I have many ideas based on my experience in crisis management. If you want suggestions call me. Besides this crisis, Emirates has always been a very good airline to me. Their everyday service is impeccable and a treat to experience. Crew couldn’t handle full flight specially on Istanbul to Mumbai flight, food was worst , people ordered veg were stuck with chicken. Flight crew non responsive on almost everything.

Rude staff through the experience. Extremely warm cabin temperature during the flights with no seemingly capable of addressing this.

Ulemper: "I was served Butter chicken after confirming with the flight attendant whether it was an ASIAN VEG MEAL which I had requested. On being confronted about the issue, the flight attendant gave a cold response saying they were out of asian veg meals. One of the worse airlines and should not be a part of Star Alliance."

Since it was my first time to travel via Turkish Airline, not familiar with Istanbul airport."

The staff was RUDE and INSENSITIVE. Qatar was better in overall customer service. Worst customer service from Turkish airline."

Fordele: "Turkish Airlines er normalt, som samlet pakke min favorit, men når indtjekning vælger at sætte 2 voksne mænd på sæder ved nødudgangen der kun er ca. 75% i størrelse af normle (små) sæder, så er 3½ time til Istanbul en lang sammenklemt oplevelse."

Ulemper: "gate was announced at the last minute, and within 5 or 10 minutes of the announcement, the plane was boarding. the boarding process was not handled well. the entire hallway leading to several gates was blocked off for checking boarding passes and passports. it was not at all clear what was going on. no explanations were offered, and there was a huge crowd stuck in the hallway."
Fordele: "Overall the experience was good. Cabin crew helpful."
Ulemper: "while going to US from Mumbai -Wheelchair service at Istanbul was found unsatisfactory. The attendanct was unfriendly adamant and rude. overall the wheel chair persons were neglected by the airlines (even at Boston ) but the cabin crew took care of all wheel chair persons."
Ulemper: "Boarding at Ataturk Istanbul airport was happening randomly. They did not follow the group boarding like in IAD airport."

Ulemper: "I was in the middle seat next to a very big man. His belly and arm was spilling over to my seat. I could not even pull out my food tray from inside the arm rest. Had to eat with my food on my lap. Throughout the long flight his arm on my side and his elbow was hurting me."
Ulemper: "We had to spend the night in Istanbul and get only on the next flight the following morning. TK airport (ground) staff that talked to us was antipathetic and it took ages to get any service. Looks like they didn't care we about the delay, nor they were trying to help us. Just kept saying we need to wait."

Ulemper: "Departure is 4 hours late. Missed connecting flight at Istanbul. Asked us to pay for Visa to stay in hotel. Did not have money. Also forgot to take Credit card from USA. As per the rule Airlines has to pay for Visa. They never paid. Asked us to pay. Totally harassment. Never book Turkish Airlines in my remaining whole life. Also will this incident to all my friends after going back to USA. Very very bad experience. Sat down 24 hours at Airport without food and sleep. Mostly will file a case against Airlines."

Was pleasantly surprised on how good they were. Comfortable seats, excellent on board service, food better than average, pleasant and professional staff. Try them, you won't be disappointed"

Ulemper: "On line check-in system does not remember frequent flier info. Passport check at gate was poorly managed. Everyone was in waiting area then told to get out and stand in line for passport check. It happened each time so this seems to be their normal process. On flight back they bused us to the airplane and waited for all three buses to arrive at the airplane before allowing anyone to board. Flight attendants helped with moving carry on bags in bins but with little consideration to the items. Completely unorganized boarding process to the point it is worth paying a little more to fly a different airline."
Fordele: "Flight itself was comfortable even though it was very full. Good, well maintained airplane. Great pillow and blanket. Somewhat hard seat. Love the newspapers they give us to read - what a selection."
Ulemper: "Istanbul airport really lacks seating for its passengers in the general areas. You need to sit in a restaurant to rest your feet as waits are quite long between flights. Another problem is the lack of internet for passengers without Turkish cell accounts. This should be corrected. Finally, lack of water fountains in the airport is also a problem."
Fordele: "Great Food, adequate seating, helpful staff, efficient boarding"

Men at skulle stå i kø som business pasager i 55 min for at få hotelvoucher og nyt boardingpass var for meget. Economy havde endnu længere kø. Skikkerhedstjek næste morgen i Frankfurt tog 35 min for business og op mod 1t for economy!"
