I juni, juli og august er prisen på en flybillet til Istanbul som regel højere. Normalvis koster en returbillet i sommermånederne ca. 1.100-2.900 tyrkiske lira (ca. 1.500-4.000 DKK). Budgetrejsende bør i stedet fokusere på vinterhalvåret, hvor det ofte er muligt at finde billige rejser og stadig opleve mildt vejr i den tyrkiske hovedstad. Her koster en returbillet som regel omkring 800-1.100 tyrkiske lira (ca. 1.100-1.500 DKK). I vintermånederne december, januar og februar er det som regel muligt at finde et godt tilbud på flybilletter med hotel.
Rejsetiden fra København til Istanbul er ca. 3 timer og 15 min, mens turen fra Billund Lufthavn til Istanbul tager ca. 3 timer og 25 min. Ved flyvninger med mellemlandinger kan turen snige sig op på alt fra ca. 6 til 11 timer eller mere.
Det er muligt at finde direkte flyrejser fra København til Istanbul med flere flyselskaber. Der er direkte afgange på de fleste tider af døgnet. Blandt andet kan rejsende som regel finde billetter med afgang omkring klokken 7.00 om morgenen eller klokken 14.00 om eftermiddagen. Også Billund Lufthavn tilbyder en lang række direkte flyrejser til Istanbul på forskellige tider af døgnet.
Fra København til Istanbul kan rejsende blandt andet flyve med flyselskaberne Pegasus Airlines, Turkish Airlines og SAS, der alle har direkte flyvninger fra Kastrup Lufthavn til Istanbul. Fra Billund Lufthavn er det ligeledes muligt at flyve direkte til Istanbul med SAS og Turkish Airlines. Tyrkiet har nu ophævet størstedelen af sine COVID-19-rejserestriktioner, men rejsende, der ikke er tyrkiske statsborgere eller statsborgere, må ikke rejse ind i Tyrkiet, hvis de ankommer fra Afghanistan eller Bangladesh. Tyrkiet har suspenderet indrejse for rejsende fra Storbritannien, Danmark, Holland, Brasilien og Sydafrika. I øjeblikket er det kun britiske statsborgere med opholdstilladelse i Tyrkiet, der har adgang til Tyrkiet.
Rejsende skal være i besiddelse af en gyldig og negativ COVID-19 test udstedt inden for 72 timer før afgang. Uden dette certifikat vil rejsende blive nægtet ombordstigning. Rejsende skal udfylde en formular til lokalisering af passagerer før de ankommer til Tyrkiet.
Samtlige rejsende, der har besøgt Brasilien, Danmark,Storbritannien eller Sydafrika skal gennemgå en PCR-test for COVID-19 ved ankomsten. Rejsende vil derefter blive bedt om at isolere sig selv i 7 dage fra den dato, de forlod Storbritannien. På dag 7 vil de blive underkastet en yderligere PCR-test. Hvis testen er negativ, vil karantænen blive ophævet. Rejsende i karantæne får en obligatorisk PCR-test på dag 10 i deres karantæne. Hvis resultatet er negativt, slutter karantæneperioden.

I thought that the brew reacted and handled this emergency in a calm, professional and dignified manner. Very little information was conveyed to the passengers aside from what was necessary. I thought that was very dignified and respectful of the circumstance. The flight was diverted from Munich to Vienna, the affected individual was evacuated and the flight was back in the air shortly thereafter. I would like to say Very Well Done to the crew and airline for the training they received and handled the situation."

Ulemper: "There is a big problem with some of the Premium economy seats. the way the secure the seat to the floor of the plane puts a piece of metal directly under the seat in front of you so you cannot put a bag or other items easily under the seat. If you are in the middle of the row it is really a hassle to have access to your laptop."
Ulemper: "I had paid for an upgrade to sit in the front of the cabin with extra legroom (row 14A). When I boarded a man sat it my seat. He had not paid for the upgrade, but the crew let him stay in my seat. I had asked him to social distance but he continued to sit right behind me bo matter which seat I moved to. He argued with the crew until they gave up and let him stay. They did not check his boarding pass or ask him to move to his assigned seat I found a different seat away from him but I don’t see the point in paying for extra legroom when the crew let’s people who haven’t paid for it sit it those seats. I felt harassed by the man and was very uncomfortable the whole flight. I am considering my next step, I think I should at least receive a refund for the upgrade I paid for."

I was told I will have 100 euro credit for clothing, but in the winter and for 6 days, this was not even close to the amount I needed for clothing and necessities, to have my time here."

I had to wait for a small plane coming from Edinburgh then wait for it to be emptied of passengers and cleaned. This meant we were over 2 hours late into Istanbul. No explanation or apology. I then missed my next flight in Istanbul and had to purchase another ticket. I cannot believe that air passengers are treated in this way!!! I will follow this up with KLM when I go home from my holiday."

Ulemper: "Information on KLM website and flight status said 50 minutes delay and was never updated with the true status. 3 hours before we took off. KLM blamed the fog at Manchester but to be honest most other flights seemed unaffected. Put up in an IBIS hotel and fed substandard food and shitty hotel room with an Aircon unit that clunks into action every 30 seconds keeping me awake. It's external so I can't switch it off. Being given a 10 Euro voucher for food at the airport when most food and a drink will cost you 12 to 15 euros."
Ulemper: "Flight way delayed 3 hours. Staff gave no information and wouldn't help rebook us onto other flights. They gave us food vouchers 2 minutes before we finally boarded, so we couldn't use them. The food on the plane had spoiled so we were all starving on the flight, and we all missed our connections. Horrible experience and wouldn't fly with KLM again."

It was an overnight flight, so maybe that should have been expected, but I don't think we had those 4 years ago when traveling overseas."

The gate staff and flight crew identified him and allowed us special bordering that facilitated the process. That act of kindness is a rare experience on our part. Thank you Air France staff!"

Ulemper: "Crew not only lacked sensibility to understand the purpose of an emotional support dog but kept harassing me about the dog being tied to my seat. At some point a flight attendant even tried to touch my dog, invading my personal space. When the dog rightfully acted defensive trying to protect me, the crew member started threatening me that he would have the dog sent to cargo, the last thing a person with an emotional support pet wants to hear. Extreme lack of professionalism."

Ulemper: "It was one problem after another during check in. And it was difficult to find help in English so I couldn't really tell what was going on. In the end I was tucking to get checked in because they were insisting I use a kiosk but I was telling them that the kiosk said to see an attendee. It was not efficient and I felt like a burden asking for help when there was nothing else I could do on my own."
Fordele: "I liked the way a fligh attandant treated me and another two passengers. At the end of the flight he gave us a cup of strawberries for all. The food was delicious specially that pasta, it was yummy."

Fordele: "Traveled fron SFO to CDG on AF in business class on an A 380. Lounge in SFO was smallish and not many choices in the food bar. Boarding was smooth. my second ride on A 380 in business and this trip reminded me quickly why I did not care for the A 380 on my previous trip. It is a huge plane with a huge sized business class which makes the cost less worth it compared to a Boeing. The crew were extremely helpful and caring. The food was acceptable. The seats on the plane were not comfortable in the lying position. Took a cab to our hotel in Paris (1st Arr) for a flat 50 euros. No meters."
Ulemper: "Arriving in CDG and facing a slow immigration with the passengers of this huge plane. I didn't care for the baggage delivery system. We were waiting for an hour only to realize that the arrival port for our luggage was changed."

It would seem that the luggage sat out for quite a while prior to departure for that much soaking of clothes. Fortunately we are staying in Paris for a few days and can get our clothes dried out."

Ulemper: "I'm still on this roller coaster! Initial flight delayed 3 hrs. Missed connection in Warsaw. Got on another flight with its own connection Munich then Sofia and about to miss that connection too because this flight is also delayed for no reason. Lot app doesn't work. Customer service is horrificly slow and their phone number had me on hold for over 40 min after which dropped my call"
Fordele: "I have been flying with them for the past 16 years(economy seats), and I have to say that their service,and comfort of overnight flights have improved tremendously! Partially due to the fact that they have 787 Dreamliners now, in which the seats are wider and are reclining more than before, the leg room is bigger, the air quality better. The crew members are very professional,not overly sweet,yet caring and understanding,especially when you are flying with small children.As to those complaining about overcharged luggage- read the rules people! If you go over the maximum limit of 50lb for a check in, let's say 2lb,they won't charge you,but don't expect them to close their eyes when your luggage weighs almost double that!"

Ulemper: "They didn't start boarding until 5 minutes before take off and this was just onto the bus that would take us to the airplane. There was no communication why they were running so far behind. Once we landed in Warsaw, we sat on the plane for around 20 minutes waiting for them to bring the bus to pick us up and remove our luggage from underneath. I had a connecting flight I would have missed if it wasn't delayed. They also had the door open while waiting and the heat and humidity was pretty stifling with everyone already standing up waiting to disembark."

Ulemper: "Toilets were too dirty. Crew must clean them continuously during the fly. But they didn't. They was unhappy about this duty. When we landed there were toilet paper on the floor even outside the toilets."

Fordele: "The trip was on Boeing 787, good legroom, and decent seat recline, food was ok and the flight was on time given that most transatlantic LOT Polish Airlines flights are delayed."
Ulemper: "The aircraft (B787) was a bit run down. Some of the cabin crew were unprofessional, at at times rude to passengers. No wine/beer offered during the dinner service. They offer "gourmet" cafe on-board for purchase, but one has to go all the way back of the plane to make a purchase, the flight attendants refuse to bring it to the passenger, which I found to be strange."
