Dejlig centralt beliggenhed, yderst venligt og hjælpsomt personale. Stille hotel trods placering op af befærdet vej. God akustik i hele hotellet.
Nice room in seemingly very safe area.Nice breakfast.
the room was huge and well equipated
Localization. Based on Puerto Madero with easy access to the hole city.
The hotel is located in a special place of the city - Puerto Madero - close to good restaurants and parks.
Trendy architecture in nice neighbourhood
Convenience to shopping sighseeing restaurants, easily accessible to airport by taxi, helpful, courteous staff. Regency rooms were shabby, we were lucky to receive an upgrade which was excellent & above comments did not apply
the view from the room was great and the concierge very helpful
lovely property, some of your staff (like bell boy) were friendly and nice. The timber etc was good. lovely property, but it needs desparate repair and upgrade. And your breakfast bar manager was unable to provide Soy Milk (for example). The bar closed 2 hours ahead of time. The room given earlier was too noisy. etc etc.
The hotel has a great glassed in rooftop pool/spa/gym with fantastic views of the city and the rooms are very nice as well. Most breakfasts were in the ballroom rather than thier more attractive restaurant to accomidate the large number of clients being shuttled to cruise lines.
The central location and the helpful staff at the reception desk.
Great location and excellent service The pillows were really bad
Although overloaded by 3 ongoing conferences and crowds moving in and out of the hotel, the staff at reception was extremely kind and attentive. spa annd pool with outstanding views is worth a try. Service overall was very good. I stayed two nights, the first night I was assigned an old room with an old carpet, full of stains, extremely poor lighting, a bathtub with cracks and holes, a partly rotten cabinet. I thought of leaving the hotel. I spoke to the reception manager and for the second night I was moved to a room that was, simply, perfect. Make sure you request a renovated room! Anyway, why do they keep such old and unclean rooms?
The hotel was central in the city and this made sightseeing very easy The security was a constant worry. One of our friends had her camera bag snatched away and stolen in the reception area!
High ceilings and elegant atmosphere from a time long ago.
1. Professional welcome and check-in 2. Large rooms 3. Charm and history of hotel 4. Location 5. Frontdesk staff 6. Proactive spa staff looking to accommodate schedules 1. Low energy lamps are ok, but they should choose to have a lightning that underlines the beauty of the hotel. Currently it's lightning is like in a hospital... 2. Breakfast area should be kept more tidier, when there are a lot of people. It was a bit messy.
Nice room, good food, excellent staff service. Internet connection poor.
The building was well kept and the staff was professional. The location of the hotel was ideal. We had visited the hotel 8 years ago and haddinner there and we decided to stay there this time. It lived up to our expectations.
The Plaza is a wonderful piece of Argentina's history. Excellent location in the heart of the shopping district. Wonderful, friendly, attentive personnel. Their recommendation for the restaurant 'Las Nazarenas' was one of our highlights, fabulous!!! It is a historic building, so there are some quirks, but in my opinion, well worth it. My only issue is that Wi-Fi should be included. However, it is for free in the lobby.
Good Location to city
Having kitchen facilities in the suite, the two separate rooms, proximity to downtown. They also promptly accomodated a change to twin beds from a double. The elevators were claustrophobis, corridors sometimes smelled a bit of cigarette smoke and I was not able to get onto the hotel internet via my iPod although the staff at the front desk did try to help.
no smoking room should not have ashtray
Great staff, great location right on the obelisc, clean room with big bathroom and strong shower, great breakfast. Could be a little cheaper and it should have a better selection of wines.
Central location, staff had pretty good english, spacious rooms, ok breakfast, pretty ok value for the money swimming pool water was bit dirty, some (not all) of the young staff in the breakfast room were more concentrating on gossiping than serving the customers
The location is excelent, the room was very big, the bed large and comfortable I didn't like at all the glass see-through walls in the bathroom, prefer privacy there. I also didn't like not having carpets on the floors, I use to do gymnastics in the mornings, and it's not comfortable to do it on a naked floor.
very nice location and class of hotel, large room, well equipped The staff speaks mainly Spanish, some of them poor English if you are lucky. However, they try being helpful.
Location, large room, well equipped, cleaning services
The room was comfortable and it was a suite style. It was big and the bathroom was of a good size for Argentina standards. My room was facing an important and busy city avenue.I need ear plugs for sleep. If you want a quiet room it is consider and upgrade and you need to pay more.
The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the hotel is ideally situated in the heart of the city. Perhaps the staff could have had better English language skills
The cost of the rate and the benefits are good. The breakfast is very good. The localization is very good too, next to the government house and 03 blocks from Florida. The amenities are poor, for example, no shower cap, even after my request.
My fiance really enjoyed the continental breakfast. The room was a bit small but the location is just half a block from countless historical landmarks and the subte.
near all action in the city
Excellent staff, Good Internet Faciliites and an excellent quality breakfast Nothing at all. Will choose everytime i am back in Buenos Aires
The new tower is quiet and modern. The lobby of he old tower is bigger and more luxurious but my understanding is the rooms are older although I never saw them. They seemed to have certain websites blocked since Internet was working fine but some sites would not work in the hotel. Very strange.
Good location, comfortable and clean.
Original art throughout the hotel, beautiful rooms, great showers, and a full breakfast buffet made our stay pleasant. Professional staff helped us with reservations for dinner and a tango show, and were great to deal with. A small pool on the top of the building was too crowded to use.
excellent staff- very helpful with our trip travelling on from Beunos Aires
It is very clean, comfortable, and the location is great. The only staff that speaks English is the front desk, so if you want room service, laundry, or anything fixed by maintenance, you have to call the front desk and hope they aren't busy.
The best thing about the hotel is its location, close to shopping and restaurants. Inattentive reception staff, poor elevator service
The only thing I can say is, it's centeraly located nothing else was intresting. well, this is not a 4 star, if I wanna rate it, I would say 2.5, it is a old building which you can hear people in aisle and from other rooms, staff can't speak english or they dont want to (which is not acceptable) and I dont know why they employed them! I asked to clean my room but it didnt happen(they forgot), and the rate they charged was different from what I booked.
The beds are old
Location No views at all. Breakfast included and was supposed to open at 6:30 but still no hot entrees by 6:50.
the plaies and the staff in the hotel
Hotel was well located. Staff was competent. Room was large enough for three people comfortably. Bathroom was large and facilities all worked well. Room was kept clean and neat by staff. Relatively quiet.
The staff was very helpful. The locations was great! The room was large and very comfortable. I would recommend this hotel and stay here again. No
Good location on the shopping street, plenty of malls and places to eat cheaply. Good price for the location. Taxis, can't get to the hotel as it is pedestrian only area. Problems with elevators meant that the stairs were needed. Ground floor looked like a deserted/disused shopping mall in the evening. Not a nice place to enter after 11pm. Restaurant/breakfast area shabby, no internet access except two shared machines. Under-staffed.
The convenience of its location. The front office staff where very attentive and we really appreciated their good command of the English Language! Nothing we did not like about the hotel, it was great, but please do not restrict "William Walker" as the only person able to reply to this survey. Please give other options such as me (his wife!!) - after all you sent this email to ME not him!!!
The size of the room. The location of the hotel. The value of the hotel in what you got for your money.
Located in a great area of Buenos Aires. Lot's of restaurants, nightlife and parks. Hotel needs some remodelling.
The hotel is in a good lcoation close to the cemetary and Recolata Village. The hotel provided free wifi which worked well. The hotel is in need of an overall renovation; it is clear from the general state that the owners are not investing money in it. The rooms and bathrooms are shabby although clean. The gym and pool area are in a very bad state. Probably around half of the machines in the gym are broken and rusting due to being located in the pool area. The pool however was heated which was a plus.
Clean, excellent staff very helpful, Early check in would be nice, I arrived from Canada @ 10am and I could get a room until 300pm, I have meetings booked and would like to rest and shower so to get into a room for early check in would be very good.
Saff were excellent, friendly and tried very hard Decor is old and shabby, the whole hotel needs big investment. The lobby and bar area were deserted and unwelcoming. We went to the Alvear Palace hotel most evenings for a coffee or a drink, just for the athmosphere. However the staff were most helpful
lots of restaurant choices very close to hotel. Needs some updates no desks in room to work on
Good location. Carpet in the rooms.
Great location opposite the Recoleta Cemetary, surrounded by a dozen neat restaurants serving all kinds of foods. Also adjacent to some great but expensive shops. Great breakfast, great roof-top pool. We were upgraded to a suite which was huge with a balcony overlooking the cemetery, but the rooms themselves desperately need work, carpets are stained, some windows have no window coverings, the huge Jacuzzi tub looked too dirty to use, so we just used it to shower. I'm sure the rooms are adequately cleaned but its just shabby; if we were in the standard room I had reserved I would consider the hotel too expensive given its shabbiness.
Proximity to shopping & restaurants in Recoleta. Staff was great Rooms were worn out, in need of renovation
Hotel staff very helpfull. The exellent location for my purpose and felt safe in the area. Taxi rank very near made it convenient and quick to get around. The bathroom in my room was in need of a bit of paint and repair. Sealent around jacuzzi needs replacement.
Great location, good accomodation! Internet was paid in the rooms and dropped all the time.
Very well run, comfortable, centrally located hotel with courteous staff who helped with every request. Highly recommended.
The location can't be beat. Across the street from bars and a Subway and close to the best restaurants in town. Tours pick you up at the hotel. Plus, as you're aware, the exchange rate is a challenge. Although the official exchange rate is 8 to 1USD, the hotel offered 11. This was a huge help as it's not as good at shady black market outlets will give you at 13, but it prevents you from having to go to these places. The host at breakfast was a total jerk. Staff in general could use an attitude adjustment, but this guy takes the cake. The doormen were the only people that showed any interest at all.
Breakfast and room comfort There was some noise coming from the air conditioning equipment outside.
great location and breakfast... nice, confortable rooms. Very friendly hotel staff.
The room was so comfortable, beautiful bed linen, pillows and towels. Very luxurious.
Great room for the price
Hotel staff were helpful and lent me cash as I was having withdrawing cash problem Wifi terrible pool and spa available
It was extremely clean and very comfortable. The staff was very helpful with suggestions and directions for things to do and getting around Buenos Aires. It was our favorite hotel during our trip to Argentina. The complimentary breakfast was generous and excellent as well.
Location is ok, breakfast is great. The Staff was sort of angry the entire visit; from front desk to room service (note - housekeeping was good although there was no interaction with myself) ,I felt unpleasantly greeted. Miscellaneous notes- the fitness room is mediocre not because of the equipment but because there is no ventilation in the basement where the pool and gym are- which made it very difficult to breathe while running/ working out.
the location is very good They gave us a very small and noisy room compared with the rest of the rooms that had the same prize. The staff were not very helpful, I asked them for a hairdresser and they couldnt direct me to one, I also had an emergency and need batteries and they couldnt help me either. They told us when we arrived that breakfast was included and then when we were leaving they charged us for it. In the reservation the breakfast wasnt included but since the receptionist mentioned it, we just believed her and then paid an enormus amount of money for it. There is no iron on the rooms, so you have to pay to get your clothes ironed.
the staff and the acomodations
An excellent hotel with excellent services; good location, close to the centre and several restaurants; excellent value for money
It's well located to my local office and a quaintly unique boutique setting. It's small enough that the staff remembers you when you come and go and you are not lost in the crowd, which can tend to be the case at larger hotels. There wasn't anything I didn't like. I would have liked to swim with the roof open since it was warm out and the roof was not retracted. It was summer time so I figured they would have opened it up. Not a big issue and it more than made up for it in every other way.
This was my second stay at Alvear Art. I returned because I enjoyed my first time. I like the location: the area ranging from the Plaza de Mayo all the way up to Recoleta contains a lot that interests me. I enjoy sitting on a bench in Plaza San Martin and listening to the birds and the city while reading something thoughtful and contemplating life. It's nice too to have within walking range a number of nice restaurants. The hotel staff was glad to advise me and make suggestions. The servers in the hotel restaurant treated me like a friend. I believe I have found my place to stay in Buenos Aires.
location aircondition badly functioning - can not open window wide enough to ventilate. - matress was awful, felt like waterbed, when ever the other person moved, you moved too.
good location and big room.
Everything is a wonderfull elegant hotel , and you can get it for a very economic rate.
The room's confort that it was not possible to have a soup of the menu during room service time.
the location and the side of the room together with the garden vieux. the internet acces is pour in the room
The hotel is increadible! It´s very confortable and clean. The bathroom is suberb! There is no room service through the night long. The breakfast is very poor comparing to the hotel level. At least, I wonder if the´s a hairdresser at the hotel.
the location was very good. Hotel facilities were also of a very good standard. Room quite large for price. toulet had not been cleaned. Staff were not very friendly or helpful.
We enjoyed the helpful staff, cleanliness of hotel and the overall quality was very good A more reasonably priced breakfast would have been a big plus. Expensive buffet breakfast of little interest and not always convenient to leave each morning to have breakfast
Very good breakfast and a nice gym center. The room was clean and big. Good lacation, near center. Breakfast on the weekend was better that the one I took on monday, much better!
My room was too small for 5 star Hotel (but excellent in cleanliness and well seviced). Carpets were tired in Hallways on floor 5. Overall a pleasant experience.
Great breakfast and bistro. The rooms are confortable and clean. Excelent location. The staff at the reception desk could be more friendly.
professional staff, nice room, good breakfast,
Modern design hotel, with all facilities, fantastic staff and not very big but neat rooms. There are a lot of elevators, which all ring a very loud bell when arriving at reguested floors. When you are in a room close to the elevators you gone have problems with sleeping. Some rooms have an extra door that keeps the sound away. The rooms are not really big, not even the suites or more upmarket rooms.
Central Location It is classified as a 5 star but is definately not . By upgrading our room 2 levels it became a 4 star. I would recommend hotel by location and staff only.
Nice hotel, room clean, nice people and very good breakfast.
Location was very good, central, reason for the selection. Services also are very good. Breakfast great. Recommended! No, everything was as expected. No problems at all.
Very disappointing for a 5 star hotel. In many other countries I believe it would be 3 star.Otherwise ok.Weekend staff appeared to be very inexperienced.
The facade of the hotel is nothing special- a 19 or 20 story brick building; however, the lobby is very pretty with spiral staircases and marbe pillars. The rooms are a good size and very clean. They charge for the internet, for the water in the room, for the coffee machine in the room, and they charged me $20 US dollars for a collect call to my credit card company. Given that this is one of the more expensive hotels in Buenos Aires, this type of nickel and diming of guests is offensive. When you enter the hotel there are always 5 or 6 people waiting to open the door, yet when I could not set up the wireless connection and was connected to the business center,no one answered the phone-prefer having good service rather than the appearance of good service. The gym, which is advertised as state of the art, consists of a few treadmills and bikes and a universal machine and a few dumbells.Shower took 15 mins to get warm.
Possibility of early checking in and late checking out without any difficulty No real lunch or dinner facilities in the hotel
The location in a lovely part of Buenos Aires, design of the hotel public rooms and guest rooms, and staff were all excellent.
