Parking was too expensive!!! Limited unloading space But wonderful cleaning staff, bell service and front desk TOP NOTCH!
We stayed here for the Rock n Roll Marathon. It was located right near the starting line, which was very convenient. They allowed us to have a late check out time so we did not have I rush after the race. The staff was friendly and the hotel was extremely nice. The room was a little small.
Friendly staff I've paid for an upgrade to a room with a city view. The so called city view was blocked by the adjacent Hyatt House. If you want a city view, move on to the near by Holiday Inn.
Was nice hotel - not much really close to the hotel but the french quarter is in walking distance. our AC broke one night so it was 80+ degrees in the room and we had to wait up for an hour at 2am to get someone from the hotel staff to reset the thermostat. There was also quite a bit of road noise, even up at the 10th floor - was woken up by a garbage truck in the middle of the night.
Thought I was staying at a 5 star hotel. It was very clean and upscale.
Location Cleanliness Comfort Nine
The customer service at this hotel was great. Whether you are going for business or pleasure this hotel has everything you need. I have have stayed in several hotels in New Orleans and this is by far my favorite,
Everything Had trouble with my keycard several times but no biggie
Great stay! Clean and comfortable hotel. Business center is not free, which is a negative. Carla at the front desk is wonderful!!!
Beautiful hotel! Convenient street car across the street to get all over the city. Staff is very friendly. Many restaurants and shops for in hotel wants. Nothing!
Very nice! We came for our anniversary and it was amazing. The staff made our night special. Layout can be a little confusing from the parking garage to the rooms, but once you get use of it it's a little easier.
The room was very comfortable to be in. The bed was comfy and lighting was calming. Very little hallway noise and never heard the neighboring rooms. All the staff I encountered was friendly and courteous. The bathroom was a little dirty, some mold growing in the crevice of the shower door. A soap wrapper was left in the bathroom from the last guest. Nothing too major though. Only other complaint would be how confusing it is to get from the main lobby to the room elevators and the parking garage. The signage isnt all that handy as in some areas the main lobby isn't mentioned at all, either is the parking garage. It's especially frustrating with the arbitrarily named conference halls displayed all over.
It would have been helpful to have clear instructions regarding the fact that an airport shuttle should be booked 24 hours in advance. I was not aware and had to order a cab.
Overall the room was nice, the staff was friendly, and the building and our room were very clean. We had booked a deluxe king size room and when we got to our room it was two double beds. The woman that checked us in had made no mention of the fact tat it wasn't what we reserved. When we called down to switch they told us there was none available. We had only booked the hotel because we wanted a king or queen size bed and had made the reservation selecting that option 2 hours before arriving.
Staff was wonderful, the room was spacious, the bathroom luxurious and the location was excellent for access to French quarter and riverside shopping. Parking is always expensive in New Otleans. The valet staff was very courteous and attentive. They helped to make the sting of the cost bearable.
Very nice helpful staff! Everything we wanted to see and do was pretty much within walking distace. It was nie to have a mall across the street!!!
When you first walk into the Omni Riverfront the lobby is very very upscale with the bar being right there also the staff was excellent with William at the bar and I know I'm going to say her name wrong but we checked in later in the evening and raylon was absolutely the best and we do a fair amount of traveling and she was absolutely friendly and fantastic she almost made me cancel my other reservations for the rest of my stay to stay at the Omni Riverfront they are blessed to have her Everything was perfect
We enjoyed staying at the Omni. Very comfortable beds, courteous staff. Hotel is located away from all the hustle and bustle but still within walking distance of everything. There was an outlet center right across the street which was great too.
I thoroughly enjoyed my first trip to New Orleans, and our lodging was a big part of it. The room was clean, very comfortable bed. All of the staff was very helpful, the concierge gave us many tips.
Everything. Omni always rules Everything was exceptional
Very convenient location - right across from the Riverwalk and down the street from Harrah's, Fulton Alley, and the Convention Center. Hotel was clean and staff was very friendly. Didn't try the restaurant downstairs as my fiance and I were out and about most of the day. I would definitely stay here again! The door to our bathroom was positioned in such a way that there was a huge gap between the wall and the door. When you were taking a shower, steam could escape and if you were in there long enough, the fire alarm would go off. That was a pain, but other than that, it was a wonderful stay!
When we arrived door service was great but the front desk lady was very disrespectful. We arrived a couple hours early before our original check in time at 3 and it seemed like she was bothered by a previous incident. No eye contact and we could barely hear her speak because she spoke so low. The overall stay was mediocre, the last night fire alarms continued to go off through out the night making it extremely hard to get a good rest.
While I was there, the hotel was in the process of converting from a Wyndham to an Omni. There was a lot going on including replacing a lot of bedding and other fixtures in the rooms. There was a little bit of a disarray. By the time I checked out, the conversion it already happened and everything seemed fairly orderly. I would probably stay at the new Omni.
Just outside the French Quarter Parking
The staff was extremely helpful and cordial. Only Double Beds available for my stay. We requested King bed for our stay. Also valet parking wasn't available for our stay.
The staff was good, location was good, beds were comfortable. (However, we were put in a two-queen room when we asked for a king.) Starbucks in the hotel was convenient, however I was used to free coffee for guests at other Marriott franchises, so that was a little disappointing. I really wish that there had been more drawer space. It was inconvenient for staying a week, though I suppose most people staying are just there for a convention.
Offers valet parking only
My husband,3 young kids and I spent the weekend here to do some fun Christmas activities over the weekend. Excellent location across the street from convention center and Riverwalk, near Fulton street and French Quarter. Staff was excellent, room was very nice and located in a very safe area of New Orleans. We'll definitely be staying at the Mariott again!
Staff was very accommodating, the hotel was clean and excellent condition The pillows were feather pillow which was very uncomfortable, when I asked for foam pillows they were out, I guess other guest wanted foam pillows. WiFi was expensive I don't understand when you check into a cheaper hotel it is free, now days WiFi is just as used as TV and they don't charge for that.
I loved the location - only a block from Harrah's/Poydras, nearby lots of great bars and restaurants. The hotel was really nice and I loved all of the artwork. The room was also very nice. The bellhop broke a $50 bottle of Baileys, so I had to walk about 10 blocks in the heat to purchase another bottle, then had to walk another 10 blocks to my car to get the receipt from the first bottle, then walk all the way back to the hotel. They reimbursed me for both bottles, but it would have been nice if they would have taken care of this in another way. A free meal at Legacy would have made up for their mistake.
The front desk staff was so nice! The night we were there - there was a fashion show in the attached art gallery. The vibe of the place is very cool and hip.
Friendly. Great Art. Clean. Bar closed at 11.
Great value for a nice hotel. Very clean, nice lobby, good cafe downstairs and nice but small roof top pool. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Very convenient to restaurants & bars and a 10 minute walk to the French Quarter.
Location. Great staff. The restaurant was very good. The decor was very appealing and pleasant. Internet was pricey and was subpar. A hotel like this should be offering complimentary high-speed internet for the price of the rooms.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the room was clean. The hotel is just outside of the french quarter so it's a bit quieter, but still within in walking distance. The window in our room looked out into the center of the hotel which was a bit odd.
good location, friendly staff! They could not locate our reservation even though we had an email confirmation. We had requested a king sized bed and received two doubles. Disappointing considering it was my 45th birthday.
Clean lobby. Room came with only 2 towels even though we indicated that we would have four people in the room. We had to ask sever times for towels. When we arrived at the room, there was trash in the waste baskets from a previous guest. On the day of our departure, housekeeping rang the doorbell at 8 am to see if we were checking out. The concierge had very few suggestions for rainy day activities.
Bed was very comfortable. Amenity spaces were clean, large and designed well. Roof top pool!!!! Staff was rude. Having a rooftop pool in itself is amazing, but the area could use some modernization
Very clean property Small room, tiny bathroom, charged extra for everything!! (Gift shop was way overpriced in an area where no convenience store exist), they wanted $13 a day for wifi!!!
Good service. Attentive. Good bar and food. Valet parking $45. After tips $50-60 per day for 3 days?
Everyone was very helpful. The staff offered advice on local restaurants, places to run, and places to grab a drink. The artwork is beautiful, it's very clean and has worry free parking.
Overall it was a good experience. The room was 45 minutes late being prepared for us and it mad us a little late getting to a meeting place for our party.
Pool, bar, restaurant, minibar, room service and location were great. Our flight arrived early, around 1:00 so we checked in with the front desk, knowing our room probly wouldn't be ready. They checked us in, stowed our bags and got our number and said they would call when our room was ready. By 4:15 when we hadn't heard anything we headed back to see what was up. The front desk had just forgotten to call us...so went ahead and told us our room was ready and gave us a key. The hotel lobby/bar is so beautifully done. And then we got to our room... The Art Deco lighting, while cool in theory doesn't nearly shed enough light in the very dark rooms. Especially since one nightstand was missing it's lamp all together and the over head lighting fixture was only partially working. In addition the very heavy doors close behind you automatically and do not have a "soft close" feature so doors are constantly slamming up and down the hallway which is incredibly loud, especially while trying to sleep. To add to the discomfort neither the beds nor pillows were particularly comfortable. This was our first getaway without our baby and even as sleep deprived parents of a six month old... we weren't able to get a good nights sleep. This wasn't helped by the visit from housekeeping at 8:00am on the day of check out nor the 2 subsequent visits by staff to see if our room was empty all before 9:45am. Not quite as bothersome but still disappointing were stains on the bathroom linens, only one robe in the closet, and the cable box dangling from the tv that was mounted to the wall. There is a fine line when decorating with a minimalist aesthetic and unfortunately without proper upkeep the room just looked bare and run down. Not good for a hotel less than a year old. Lastly, and this is more of a design flaw, in my opinion, the beautiful large window in our room had 2 shade options 1) a sunscreen that offered a light filter from outdoor light and 2) full shutters that can either be open fully or closed fully. If you open them partially, the light that comes through shines directly on the pillows, so right in your face, and fully closed you are in a tomb, which is great if you want that...but good luck getting to the bathroom because it is pitch black. No small illumination option in the bathroom to light your way. Oh and the bathroom... no vent or fan in the room or bathroom, so if someone goes to the bathroom and you don't want to smell it, you pretty much just have to leave the room. No matches, either. (Sorry probably too much information, but...a real issue!) Also, the water pressure and temp were set so low after showering I contemplated waiting until I got home to avoid having to take another Luke warm shower. I hate writing this! I'm not a complainer, just honstly beside myself with this experience. I historically love Ace Hotels and have stayed at several of their properties and have great experiences, which is why I booked the room here for our New Orleans getaway. So disappointing, hope they improve.
I enjoy the general aesthetic and vibe of Ace hotels, and I've always liked the playful elements they throw in that really add to the overall experience. The room we were in was kind of terrible. Light switches were located in inconvenient and counterintuitive places, the bed was entirely too big for the room, the doors kept sticking (the room door had to be yanked open and slammed shut, repeatedly, which i'm sure our neighbors loved; the bathroom door closed just fine, but required patience and strategy to open), and the location of the bed meant that only one side got a nightstand. I ended up having to put my phone and glasses on the top of the headboard, which was kind of precarious. I hope this was just one bad room, but I honestly doubt I'll ever have a chance to find out if that's true.
I used to live down the street. The Hotel is in a great location, close to lots of great restaurants, and close to many businesses. I was excited to stay here as they have live music every night, a good restaurant, and lots of young people hanging out. I believe the Hotel went way too far when trying to be 'hip'. 1. Upon check in the front desk attendant was not polite, sighed ignored my request twice when I asked for the corporate rate then made me wait 5+ minutes while she waited to ask her manager (I told her to ask him when he was free and get back to me - this never happened). 2. The hotel room AC only goes down to 68F which felt much more like 75F when trying to sleep. I have seen other reviews which also mentioned the same thing. 3. Each time I valeted my car (with a standard transmission) it took the valet over 15 minutes to retrieve it. Upon check out, the valet showed up in my car with it stinking of burning clutch. I noticed a new dent in the door, and pointed it out to the valet at which point he shook my hand and said "I never drove a manual before and I just taught myself how to on your car. Thanks so much."
Very comfortable and hip vibe. There was also a great band at their in-house music venue.
Spacious suites. High parking fee.
It was new and clean. Good facilities. Staff were friendly. The rooms had no black Tea bags(only coffee). Since these are suites with kitchenette, it would be nice if there a few utencils or atleast some plastic spoons, forks and knives.
Tons of construction all around. Very limited parking, even in the lot we paid for.
Hotel was very clean, spacious rooms, close to the convention center...great experience staying there.
Our first time visit to New Orleans. Great location (close to convention center and streetcars), great room (clean and large), great breakfast, exceptional service from the staff (very personable and helpful). Would definitely stay here again.
Good location abd price Multiple maintenence issues with our room.
Crystal provided unrelenting top notch service. Pool cleaning equipment left out both days and poolside needed atrention
We chose this hotel due to its proximity to the French Quarter and reasonable rates. It didn't disappoint. We enjoyed our stay and service. There were a few service issues that could be addressed: faucet for sink was backwards. Shower pressure could not be adjusted. Closet door was very sticky and required much effort to open and close.
We stayed here this past Sunday (March 2) just for one night. The rooms themselves were great - nice and clean with comfortable beds. They had fridges in the rooms which was great and a very nice pool/spa. The customer service was awful. When we arrived (about 10 AM) we could not even park at the hotel and the valet was extremely rude. Two people were in the process of getting their cars back so I asked if we could take their spots (there was no one else around the hotel lobby or valet area). The valet told me no and that it would be 2 hours before I could park. I asked what I was supposed to do with my car and he rudely replied that he didn't know and that check in was at three. I continued to ask why I couldn't take the new spots for the people leaving and he replied "Check in is at 3 PM, is that fair?". Once again in a very rude tone. I did not appreciate how I was being treated as a customer. I realize this is a busy time for New Orleans, but I felt that I didn't deserve his short temper or rude behavior. I still don't understand why we couldn't park where the cars were being moved from.
Everything was wonderful The price for parking . It was outrageous 28 dollars for one night or park on some side street blocks away. You kinda got us on that one.
Very clean, smaller room but good for family of 3
The staff were very accommodating. The room was very nice . Very clean and modern. Close to everything. We could not have stayed at a better hotel. Everything
Upon arrival we were greeted by the valet parking young gentleman. He informed us that we could park & check in before moving our vehicle. Front desk was friendly and helpful upon check in on restaurants an room locations. The room was perfect, linens were impeccable room was oder free, which is important to us. We would highly recommend!! We liked everything!
Proximity to convention center More variety at the resturant and room service.
Friendly staff - made dinner for me one night even though it was after 9:00 PM! Restaurant closed at 9:00PM - no rrom service after 9:00 is crazy. If I want room service, it would probably always be 9:00 or later.
The staff jasmine at the front desk was great will stay there again. Really all the staff is nice .
The hotel was nice and the staff was friendly. There was a tremendous amount of noise in the hall way --all night long. I don't know what was going on on our floor or if it had to do with the location of our room but it was very disruptive.
Very helpful staff The worst bed of my 5 city trip Sleeping on the floor was a better option
The staff was great! Clean room, great location.
Price Friendliness of staff and bed
The staff was awesome. Went above and beyond to take care of my needs. My teenagers had a blast so must so we extended our stay an extra night. The pool closed at 10. The bed wasn't that comfy.
this hotel had more name image than it lived up to. i would not tell another traveler to book here. there are better motels for less in this area of new orleans. Hampton Inn is half the price and better - a half block closer to theconvention cente with free breakfast. this was a terrible rip off.r.
Nice lobby, friendly staff, clean room, requires a key to get into the lobby at night. Easy checkout. Vallet appeared to be the only parking option and it was $44 which was about half the price of the room. I hate hidden fees at hotels. The blanket on the bed was too warm for how the air conditioner cooled.
The staff was very friendly and the room was clean and comfortable.
i truly recommend this hotel (if you do not mind broken bath tubs) for its pleasant atmosphere and good location
Everyone there was very nice and accommodating. The hotel is very clean, and within walking or trolley distance of everything we wanted to see. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends. I was excited to see they had comfort controlled beds, but the control was covered and you had to try to move it through the mattress cover. I also had a problem with my sheet popping off my bed, but in the big picture that was a small thing.
Room size and amenities were great. You could hear the rooms above and next to you.
Spacious, clean rooms, in a great location (very close to Emeril's/the WWII Museum/Harrah's and only a 15 minute walk to the French quarter), at a fantastic price. You could do a lot worse at this price point with not that much more upside. We didn't even take advantage of the gym or free breakfast. We liked it. We weren't expecting to be wowed upon arrival and we weren't. A lot of families stayed, and therefore there was some noise. Nothing unreasonable.
Breakfast is awesome and unlimited. They have special events in the evening as well offering the guests snacks.
The room was great and better than described. Powerful AC/Heat Unit. The Kitchenette had cookware and dishes, a dishwasher, full size fridge, two stovetops, a large coffee maker, large sink, and table for two seperate of the living space. There was a decent sized pull out couch, coffee table, and large desk. Large Closet and fantastic shower pressure. Garden and pool are enclosed from street view. Basketball court and fitness center. Free Breakfast options that were beyond expectation in variety and quality. 4 short blocks on straight line from convention center. I was closer and paying less than most attendees. The employees were the best, though. They checked my bags since I got in for a conference at the Convention Center early, gave me free trolley tokens and advice for touring, easy to talk to, and met all of my needs. Only 4 blocks away Street-side hotel rooms in ANY part of downtown New Orleans can be loud on Friday and Saturdays, and my room was ground floor street side.
Not a chain hotel - liked the older hotel style but first impression left us wondering if our room would meet our expectations. Lobby needs a little renovation - paint, new furniture etc
Employees were courteous and happy to answer any questions about the area. Room was emaculately clean and elegant. The restaurant/bar wasn't open, but it was the day after Christmas, so I undersatnd.
We had a very good stay, walking distance to convention center and great restaurants in the area. Make sure to call for valet, very slow to retrieve car. Street view side has very loud streetcar traffic.
My husband and I were only going to be in New Orleans for 1 night. We wanted to stay in a place with charm, and this was perfect! The hotel is in a really nice area, but not far from the French Quarter. We would definitely return.
Rude and slow valet Far too costly for the services rendered
Good value comfy beds clean rooms easy walking distance to canal street and river walk areas.
Great location. Friendly staff. Bugs in the bathroom. Hotel claimed to be making "green efforts" but had inefficient shower heads, toilets, and faucets. Light bulbs are still incandescent!! We call their claims greenwashing...walk the talk.
Everything was great- friendly staff, convenient location, free parking, hot breakfast, and pet friendly. The only thing i wold really request would be a fridge in the bedroom and a rug or carpet on the wooden stairs in the upper corner of the building. During a rainy morning, I slipped down several steps on the way to breakfast.
Very clean and friendly staff. Terrible parking
Went to the Smoothie King Center to watch the Pelicans game. This hotel was within a 5 min walk. Room was large Room was clean - Hotel feels very new. Finding the parking garage was more challenging than assumed. There is a construction adjacent to the building. Made for an early morning wake-up call.
Customer service was really good. The restaurant in the hotel was awesome. This is an old hotel. The elevator is bee old and slow. In fact an employee was in the elevator with me and she had to jump up and down to get the elevator to move. The tub in the bathroom was a bit scratched up. The rooms are very small. There was old food in our fridge. The valet is a bit confusing when you first arrive. It takes 20 minutes to get your car.
Nice The facilities and staff are rude and not reasonable at all. They just keep saying sorry but like everyone can agree, when someone says sorry so many times they do not mean one word of it.
On the Saturday night of mice day somebody was two and he berated to get into his room and was sleeping on the floor. Hotel staff person walked by as I was leaving my room and did not address the person sleeping there.
Awesome location. Close to everything I wanted to see. No pool but it's OK. Wasn't in the hotel much anyway
It was center to everything, on the street car line, and rooms were quiet and cold!!! Great place
The staff were wonderful, helped us and went beyond to help us. We enjoyed our trip very much! Nothing.
Awesome staff after being disenchanted by Expedia booking. Had to scramble and this was an awesome experience. Nothing!
Great restaurant service and variety especially BF Great Wi-Fi Great price on Kayak Young female at Front Desk waited on 4 people at one time Stored luggage and kept my car for 2 hours to eat lunch after checkout better directions to second elevator which is at the end of the wall
Amazing location, close to everything. Walking distance to French Quarter and river walk The bed was a little too hard have me back pain.
Our bed was so comfortable.
The staff was very professional and helpful, friendly and with a very present concept of service. Good view of the city, quiet within walking distance of all the action the toilet bowl was a bit old and chipped
Clean, comfortable, close to French Quarter. There was a fridge & microwave in the room. ( but signs asking you not to take food upstairs) Queen Suite had a Full sized bed not a Queen. In room information indicated that breakfast was included. (It was NOT) No valuables safe in the room. Elevators a little sketchy. Great view of a parking deck. No closet light
Really nice hotel. Great for anyone who is looking to be close to bourbon street, but doesn't want to be so close that they can't sleepy thanks to all the noise. Staff was amazingly friendly. Wish there could have been more food at breakfast.
The hotel is ideally located on Canal Street. It is close enough to the French Quarter, that a walk takes about 15 minutes, but far enough that you do not have the noise, the dirt, or the crowds. It was agony trying to get information about parking. It took several attempts to get someone to answer the phone. The first employee was not helpful. I called a second time and got someone who gave me the phone number for the parking garage. I called the garage number, and the agent gave me the address and the rates, which was my original purpose.
Great customer service. Water was left in tub... Iron leaked water. Walls thin you can here everything.
Coldest shower ever. Very thin walls. We were woken up several times from people just getting ice. Very overpriced!
Close to sightseeing BED BUGS! PARKING ISNT 14 DOLLARS! HORRIBLE SERVICR!
When I showed up my reservation had been canceled. I was on the phone for over a hour trying to get things straight. We were finally put in a room after they told us there were no more rooms available. The room we were put smelled awful clearly people had been smoking in it all night long. They ended up moving us to another new room. We ended up missing our dinner reservation, making our friends wait, and were late to the event we were there for. Overall the worse hotel experience I have ever had.
We loved that this hotel was only walking distance to Bourbon Street. We hated that parking was not included in our stay. The parking decks are about 2 blocks away and are $20+ per night.
I loved that it was walking distances to Bourbon Street, Walking distances to shopping centers and an awesome location for transit transportation. The Trolley drop off and pick you up right outside of the hotel and it's very cheap. $3 for a 24 HR riding pass. I love the price of the hotel and the fact that they allowed my check out to be at 12pm when asked. I didn't like that the hotel didn't have continental Breakfast as its stated during online registration
It was very hot like the air wasn't working, but beside everything else was OK.
Room seemed clean, had a mini fridge and microwave and a nice office area. The parking situation is ridiculous. They have a small lot that you can park in for free if there's room, but if not you have to park in the hospital parking for like $18/night. Why can't the hotel clear a deal with the hospital and let guests stay in their garage without expense?
Location.. Right on Canal & Blocks away from Bourbon St Trolley & Bus Stops across the street Staff was wonderful. Especially our morning staff(sorry forgot her name). She went the extra mile. Gave us 2(FREE) trolley passes so my husband & I ventured out in N. Orleans. Nite & all around staff was very courteous. OVERALL...Great stay PILLOWS WERE TOOOOO SMALL.: We travel a lot & never saw some pillows that small. look like sofa throw pillows. Towels: but NO wash rags the following day(I'm sure they would have supplied sum if I'd called but we travel with some. PRICE: We paid $209.00 per nite & the Marriot few blocks away was $239, I know bc family stay there....
I found the room to be very well equipped, and I liked the book theme. I happened to be there over Mardi Gras and the hotel is on the Parade Route... seemed like it would have been fun to watch from downstairs. The internet was free but really didn't work -- very slow.
No Valet, No ice on floor we stayed on, dirty, uncomfortable bed, unfriendly desk staff, no doorman, no security, no restaurant, a/c didn't work correctly, noisy. I will not go back and I will spread the word that the new owners don't understand customer service. Still charging the same amount as if it were still a boutique hotel...more like motel
Nice clean modern room! Great staff!
The room was decorated with books and the interior was not like a typical hotel room. The staff was friendly and helpful. Carl at the front desk help went out in the middle of the Lee Circle to get us a cab. Thank you, Carl. The walls between the rooms were thin. We could hear a bed shake in another room and clearly hear the noise. In the bathroom, the body soap, shampoo and conditioner bottles were in the dispensers mounted on the bathroom walls, which was fine, but I could get enough body soap from it. The bathtub drainage was very slow. It was a good 20 min walk to Canal St. it was fine with us, but may be too far if you don't like to walk a lot. it's in the Watehouse district where it's quieter, which we preferred.
Right down town. Only a 4 minute streetcar ride or 10 minutes walk to canal/bourbon St. Pretty safe area. Staff was super friendly and the restaurant at the hotel was 5 Stars. Very very very very small rooms but for the price it's fantastic. Layout if the hotel is a bit odd as well.
I was a late night check-in that left early morning and the gentleman tending to a few others and myself at that hour was genuine, friendly and super helpful Instead of annoyed or rude. The decor is different yet Inviting, location quiet for the most part and the rooms offer unique niceties (soaps, coffee, etc not like what you'd find at most chains). Loved the books too, what a thoughtful touch! Their green initiatives are a great, conscious model of what should be done to protect Lake Ponchartrain but I found stray head hairs in the bed & think that "reusing" linens shouldn't be an option, hygiene wise.
The Hotel Modern is close to New Orleans museums, warehouse district that's packed with great galleries and good restaurants. It's also on the streetcar line. Accommodating staff here! I checked into a room with wet carpet--coffee spilled--and then was given a room that was so small that there was not space for a closet and no window. The third room was perfect.
Close to city without being too loud Breakfast was all carbs- no eggs or protein
Good location, polite staff, Funky decor, clean linens and towels (no stains), good breakfast but it starts at 7, We'd stay there again Our bathroom faucet was wacky and wouldn't turn off. The entry light didn't work. The room was small (which we knew) and dinged up.
The location was great in walking distance of everything. The room was so small that it wasn't worth the money! The person that checked us in failed to mention until after the fact their was a deposit for each night that we stayed. We had to ask after we had been gone from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. to get clean towels since no one had cleaned our room or brought new towels.
Friendly, helpful, real
