Lille, men ok for Venedig, god morgenmad, venlig betjening
Fin beliggenhed,(bus/tog) hyggelige værelser,.... men temmelig dyrt.
Staff was excellent, very solicitous. Rooms were Italian small, but nevertheless comfortable and efficient. Location was excellent, right on the Grand Canal, simply a 5-8 minute from the main bus terminal from the airport at Piazzele Roma. A great location to begin exploring the wonderful city. Could not have been happier.
It had a very convenient location to the station and other transport in the city also very easy to walk to most of the sights in the area. none
Hotel staff are very kind and suggested many activities for shopping, viewing and dining. Air conditioner is not working? Mosqito came from windows. The room was facing local houses and are noisy. Canal view was impossible.
The hotel was perfect. We chose to be near The Piazale Roma for convenience of catching an early bus to the airport. Although we only stayed one night, we would thoroughly recommend this hotel. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was small but perfectly formed in venetian style! The bathroom had every convenience and was floor to ceiling marble. We ate our breakfast outside overlooking the Grand Canal - not many hotels for the price where you can enjoy that experience. As it is the other end of the canal to San Marco, wander there and take the vaporetto all the way back - magical!
the service was incredible. Patient, thoughtful and extended their help in every way. they go out of their way to serve you. No need to pre-plan events to attend, ( I went for carrnival), they will make suggestions and book events for you. I only tried this service once and regret not having made all of them with their help. The breakfast was extension, excellent pastries as well as ham, cheeses, cereals, eggs, etc.... Room was modest in size but skillfully and beautifully decorated. I will be returning
The location on the Grand Canal and proximity to the vaporettas. The concierge was very informative and helpful. The rain!!
Free internet connection, extremely friendly greeting from hosts, bedroom organised exactly to suit our requests (3 adults = 3 single beds). Excellent location, good quality:price. Italian hotel pillows in general.... not this hotel specifically!!
Location is great, it is just opposite the train station across the canal. Breakfast is more than adequate. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The room we were given is a residence and not within the hotel. (The other option we were given was to pay EUR30/night extra to have a canal view room within the hotel.) The room is on the ground floor and is dark. There is no view to speak of.
Wonderful atttention to detail and the staff were extremely, friendly and helpful. It was really easy to get too and the view s of the Grand Canal were great. The bread rolls at breakfast were rather dry.
it is unbelieavable but all of the personel in hotel Antiche Figure are kindness and helpful. The room is clean and well designed.Hotel location is very suıtable for arriving and departure to Venice. Also it is only 20 minutes to San Marco square by walking.
excellent hotel - extremely helpful and friendly staff. lovely room and ensuite bathroom. good breakfast.
Really helpful and freindly staff and a quiet location yet still close to Grand Canal Would have been nice to have Tea/Coffee making facilities in the room
Fantastic location. Room was wonderful. Most of the staff was very kind and helpful.
Great Location on the Grand Canal Breakfast in the Garden overlooking the Canal was excellent however the breakfast (Included in the rate) didnt include cerials or Cheese / meat choices that you normally get with a buffet breakfasts at similar (and cheaper ) Hotels
There is a lovely rose garden that overlooks the Grand Canal. It is so lovely to sit out there and eat breakfast or have a bottle of wine in the evening. They have a fabulous continental breakfast also.
This Hotel was fabulous, from the quality of the staff to the detail of the rooms. The breakfast was always beautifully presented with great staff. The location was so easy to find and perfect for getting to the train station and ferry. I highly recommend this hotel! Nothing was a problem at this gorgeous hotel.
Excellent hotel, great location overlooking the grand canal, friendly and helpful staff
The staff was very helpful and we traveled with our 6yr old.. Nice stay and would say again... Anyone can split hairs but all-in-all it was as we expected for a 4 star in Europe...
nice and wide rooms. the location is perfect and it worths the money spent.
Everything. Thats it! Wonderful rooms wonderful showers, wonderful gardens, Breakfast limited but still good
We enjoyed the breakfast in the garden
Location boutique hotel No kettle in room
very quiet and relaxing location would have preferred the room to be a little more spacious
We enjoyed the friendly and helpful staff. The location of the hotel was an easy walk with luggage from the train staation, just steps from the Grand Canal.
The Hotel offered good clean rooms in a very handy location to parking and acces to the city. Finding the hotel was not as easy as anticipated but by asking a couple of friendly locals we did not waste too much time at all. Good idea to have a good look at a map before leaving home!!
Location. Food & Drink prices prohibative.
breakfast was good
The Balcony After taking the elevator, need to take staircase. It's Ok for light bags traveller but not for very heavy bags
poor air conditioning
very sentral location - good breakfast - friendly staff it was very difficult to just find the hotel - even with help from a local! We where not able to sleep as we wold like to in the mornings because of noise from the corridor and neighbor rooms etc.
It was easy to find the hotel (I heard before that it is hard to find hotels in venice). The room was clean, and the temperature was great (we stay at Carlton Capri in Nov, and the weather was cold in venice). The bathroom was nice and warm. The room as a window opening in a allay. Venice is a noisy city because of tourists at night, but this hotel is located in a very quiet point. We had a good sleep in our room. The hotel is near to a water bus station. There was a good elevator in the hotel. breakfast was acceptable, but not very good. The hotel is near train station, but there is a bridge between the station and hotel (also between the hotel and water bus station) which has many stairs, and it is very difficult to carry the languages, even for me and my husband, both young. The staffs were good, but not helping too much. The hotel is far from Sant Marco and most important places for tourists (not a big problem, about 30 minuets walking). A very important thing is the hotel has not any internet access.
The room is very nice The location was a little hard to find.
I enjoyed everything , from the decoration to the location and the kindness of the staff. Everything was perfect.
I can't say enough about this hotel. Staff was exceptional, the hotel was gorgeous and all for a very affordable rate. Wouldn't change a thing!
Staff helpful. Room spacious for Europe. Room should have a chair where one can sit and read.
I stayed in Al Duca Di Venezia with my mother for two nights in mid-November. It's located right next to the Natural History museum and is very close to two public transit ferry stops. The room was absolutely beautiful - very unique and luxurious decor. On top of that, the staff were absolutely fantastic and extremely helpful about sightseeing, restaurant recommendations, and general information like train times, etc. Our favorite hotel during our week in Italy. Breakfast room was small and the breakfast itself was a little too basic - but really, not a problem.
The room decoration is quite pretty. The receptionist is quite helpful and passionate. As soon as we checked in, he offered all info we need.
We booked this hotel based on the photos posted on the website as there was no review during time of booking. Hotel was very new, only 2 months old and the photos are indeed true. The room was covered with beautiful wallpaper and the bed was typical Venetician design. Room was not big but sufficient for two person and bedlinens were very smooth and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and gave lots of information on where to visit etc. My only complaint is that the bathroom was too cold, there's a draft of wind in the bathroom which makes it very cold during showering.
This is a wonderful hotel. I had specifically asked for their room with the gorgeous red draped motif and they complied. The room was large and beautifully adorned. The staff definitely tries to be very helpful and everyone is friendly, but we got a lot of misinformation from Katarina (on restaurants and making phone calls). The hotel is about 15 minutes walk to the Rialto Bridge and about 30 minutes walk (give or take) to St. Marks Square. You can also easily take the Vaporetto (water bus) to both locations. We were very happy with this hotel and would stay there again! As stated above, Katarina tried to be helpful, but gave us wrong information on some restaurants and making long distance calls. Otherwise, the hotel is wonderful.
I and my girlfriend had a wonderful stay with nice room setting, kind hotel staff, good location (very near to train station) etc etc.
New, modern hotel + well maintained, clean + good location + friendly & helpful staff - all of which are scarce in Venice. The room was a bit too small and the elevator stopped on the 2nd floor, so we had to climb one floor. All in all, it was a small price to pay for such a nice hotel.
The reception staff was wonderful. They helped us find nice family friendly restaurants, made suggestions for day trips and evening events, and organized a reasonable transfer for us. The hotel was beautiful and truly exhibited the Venetian atmosphere. The best part--it was "off the beaten path" in a quiet area, but within close walking distance to the main attractions of the city.
The Carlton was a great location to stay before taking a cruise ship vacation. We obtained a water taxi right from the Hotel to our Cruise ship. There was not a thing that we did not like about our stay at the Carlton.
Breakfast was very nice each day. Rooms alittle too small for three people.
The property was beautiful and clean. The location was so convenient. Close to port, train station, and the Grand Cannal! It was nice that our raye included buffett breakfast. The beds were the only thing I would suggest they improve. For a 4 star property, I was expecting cushier bedding.
Location excellent. Straight across from train station. Right on Grand Canal. View directly onto canal. Apparently hotel was upgraded in the last 10 years. Rooms are in need of an upgrade again. The rooms are "not" of 4 * standard. Disappointed with bathroom. As Venice is a damp city to visit, the rooms need to be insulated from damp and mustiness particulary that this is a 4* hotel. Hotel is definitely overpriced! :-)
the location value for money
The location was perfect - close to the bus station and the water bus just across the bridge. The tides did not affect the water bus or water taxis like at other stops on the canals. Remember to bring converters for outlets - the hotel does not have any to borrow!
Good location close to train station, breakfast included was also very good.
location was great...room was great would have liked to have had a room overlooking the grand canal because this is one of the reasons we picked this hotel
I liked the location near the train station and near other transportation; the neighborhood itself was not so interesting. I have no complaints.
The location was fantastic and the room was stunning Nothing
The Location For the cost of the hotel the cleaning service was not up to par.
Lovely Venetian style. Friendly, helpful staff. Very convient location. Difficult to get luggage to without water taxi (from cruise terminal, may be fine elsewhere)
This is a lovely character hotel with a great location on the Grand Canal. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are elegant and clean.
A gem of a beautiful small hotel. Staff very caring and helpful in all matters. Our room had everything one could wish for. Nothing
The staff members were all very plesant and accomadating.
This is a GREAT hotel! Location is great. Staff is awesome...so friendly and attentive. Decor really gives the feel of romantic Venice. Highly recommend it!! Gianni and Roxanna were the best!
This is a charming boutique hotel right on the Grand Canal. Our room was beautiful, spacious and very quiet. The staff is outstanding - always friendly and extremely helpful. One of the best hotels we've ever experienced. n/a
It's nice located close to the railway station, even though you have to search a little bit in order to find it ;-) It's a nice little hotel with very friendly staff!
The view, and especially the ONLY balcony in the hotel. Free Murano tour with private water taxi both ways.
Atmosphere in this hotel is truelly unique. It is stylish, in baroque Venetian style. Beds are super comfortable, rooms are spacious and clean, bathrooms are very comfortable. Service is polite and can go any lengths to make your stay special. We have stayed in the new wing of teh hotel - very quiet although a little bit isolated. If you prefear vividness of the Grand Canal you should stay in one of the rooms overlooking it - all rooms are beautifully decorated. Water taxi can be order directly at the doorstep.Breakfast is small but fresh.
The staff was wonderful, from the minute we arrived and greeting us by name, to every detail during our stay. The location is perfect and the accommodations great. No, nothing we did not like.
Excellent location, nice rooms and very helpful staff
Great location. Beautiful large room, appears to be recently remodeled Could have better instructions on finding location, but not hard to find.
Once you find the small brass plate on the street door and you arrive at the appointed time the reception will be brief. For your money you get a room and a separate bathroom ( 2 rooms have a small balcony ) The B&B is unmanned other than at arrival/breakfast/departure times - the light set breakfast offered is on a tray in your room From the reviews I perceived a small hotel - in reality it is a basic B&B
The staff, Nicolas, Ann Marie and Marco were all charming and helpful. The room was large, the bed big and comfortable and the ensuite bathroom/shower was very good. The best part though was its unrivalled location overlooking a bend in a canal and with an excellent restaurant (Trattatoria al Ponte) directly underneath. The neighbourhood was quiet and on one evening we watched about 50 couples dancing the Argentinian Tango in the adjacent square. Superb. We had the best room in the house but paid a fair amount for it (200 euros a night). It seemed a bit steep.
the room was great, clean and very quiet! peaceful during the day and extremely quiet at night. for visitors that are not familiar with the way Venice addresses work, it may be hard to find, since even locals had a problem. as a help to that is, first the district and then compare your numbers up or down till you find the right block or street. take your walking shoes and have fun. air conditioner isn't the coolest one around! but since it was June it wasn't real hot yet. breakfast needs improvement. but for the price ok since there is a bakery across the street
Excellent view from the junior suite. Good situated. The towels were only changed once in 5 days. The breakfast was a bit tedious (only sweets no cheese, salami etc)
the hotel was closed so the management-who were expecting us-moved us to their other hotel across the square; this review is therefore for the ca nigra resort hotel. large rooms with interesting furniture, super modern and large bathroom pretty garden onto the grand canal. good continental breakfast, with more coffee, pastries etc being offered(rare in my experience);a la carte options available and excellent if expensive armchairs in the room would have been perfect
it's a very small room, it has only 40 cm space around the bed to the wall. it's close to the train station, sound proof is poor, breakfast is not bad, staffs are nice, with 160 euro per night is a little bit expensive, but, it's expensive in venice anyway
The location, very well placed for access to the train and bus stations and Grand Canal. The evening desk staff were very helpful and helped me plan for the following day, helped with pronunciation of words and made me feel very welcome. I'll use the hotel again. The day time desk staff were a little unwelcoming. Perhaps a lack of variation for breakfast.
Close to train station. Was nice to see Venice although a day trip would have done. Like most things we found in Venice - overpriced for what you get. Although having stayed at a number of hotels across the north of Italy it is best not to expect too much for your money and beware a 3 star or 4 star hotel. It is not the same quality as what you would expect the UK. My advice; do a day trip in to see Venice and then leave.
perfect quiet location, access to excellent facilities in adjoining 4 star hotel - beautiful garden by the canal; staff very welcoming and helpful
location Rooms are too small, breakfast needs a lot of improvement.
not easy to find it, actually location is ok. But tiny small, and bad smell in room, since prices are all high in venice, and we only stay in this hotel, so we choose it. but will never choose again.
Great location, close to excellent restaurants and nice and quiet as compared to the St Mark square area. A little hard to find w/o directions: from train stn, go L and go over bridge (lots of steps, pack light). Go straight and take the second L, go over a small bridge walk past the church and the hotel is on the L in the courtyard.
Only a short walk from the Santa Lucia Station, you cross the Ponte degli Scalzi over the Grand Canal and you're almost there. The absolute highlight of our stay at Ai Due Fanali is their very substantial and delicious breakfast on the rooftop terrace overlooking the quiet square below. It was quite an experience when the Bell Tower rang at breakfast on our first morning, only a few metres away. Friendly, helpful staff too, wonderful place to stay in Venice. The room we stayed in was a little small, with a busy walking below our window. Request a room with windows opening onto the square, a view of the Grand Canal would have been ideal!!!
This hotel is not located close to public transportation----boats. Because of the lack of access to the boat/buses we changed hotels.
the only thing is free wifi. the hotel is too old! not clean and have strange smell! nothing to eat in breakfast!
Five Star service for Two Star price! Helpful and informed staff, clean room and facilities, good breakfast
very helpful friendly staff and homely cosy feeling of the hotel, would definatly go back next year.
It was far better than we expected as we understood prices in Venice are pretty high. Not this! Hotel Falier is great value for money. The room was very clean when we arrived and it was also cleaned every day. We had a lovely time at Hotel Falier as the area in which it is located is very quiet and, also, very close to Piazzale Roma. The continental breakfast was ok, a good start for the day. The continental breakfast could have offered better variety (still, not a big issue). The bathroom had a strange smell, despite it being very clean.
Breakfast is nice, and the wifi condition is very good in room. Staffs are helpful. The location is not so good. It is not eaily accessed if you travel by train. The room is narrow. But consider the price, it is acceptable.
Location, staff Breakfast could be improved. Any ways to reduce the noise coming from the street, especially if you stay on the ground floor. More equipments in the room: teapot, etc.
The front desk and service staff were wonderful and extremely helpful for Americans visiting an Italian speaking destination. The property was also in the perfect part of town for those people looking for a spot not far from the hustle and bustle of the "tourist" area without the craziness and crowds that part of the island brought with it.
A small but lovely hotel that is well managed and great for a few days in Venice. It is extremely well located by being only a few minutes walk from the Piazzale Roma bus/coach teminus and the railway station across the Grand Canal. Basic but extremely clean rooms and adequate continental breakfast. In Italy, one only needs somewhere to sleep because there are so many restaurants, bars etc within walking distance. I can thoroughly recommend the Hotel Falier and will make it my first enquiry when I go back to Venice again.
Very good value. Excellant location - 200m from Piazzale Roma for buses from Airport, 200m from People Mover for cruise ship terminus and 300m from major river bus station. Some of the buses actually pass the front door! Breakfast was adequate, but for the overall price it was a very good deal.
Staff very helpful, excellent bathroom. Breakfast very average.
Location of the hotel is good, very close to bus stops annd train station. There are good restaurants and cafes around. As soon as you get off from the hotel you face a canal so you feel yourself you are in Venice ! Hotel looks old from outside but it's quite modern inside, new furnitures new curtains etc. Very poor breakfast, they should have served much more rich breakfast for this price. No TV in the room, although I don't watch TV much during my trips, it would be nice to have a look at news on TV sometimes.
Very good renovation, comfortable and clean poor breakfast, no good way with lagage from the garage till hotel
It was excellently placed to supermarket, train station and Piazzale Roma, where the buses go. Very clean. The lift did not work.
excellent location, especially when going to/from the port for a cruise. And the bathroom was great, modern, clean and spacious. The beds were not very comfortable. The breakfast is mostly prepackaged sweets. Nothing for breakfast that was fresh. Sparsely furnished, no decor.
The hotel is ok for the price.
It is very close to bus station, supermarket, but you have to pass the supermarket premices. There's not too many people around. Very good for a short stay.
As a converted monastery the Casa SantAndrea had a very interesting decor. The floors are marble the ceilings have exposed bricks and wood beams. The staff was pleasant and helpful. There was no TV in the room, but it really was not necessary.
This was easy to get to from either rail or bus (towing heavy bags!) Nice little restaurant next door for breakfast and lots of other eating places around. Clean and comfortable. Probably good value for Venice. No lift, small room but adequate, older so not well soundproofed with neighbours talking and slamming doors
Location is close to the railway station (Santa Lucia) and to the bus terminal (Rome square). Location is not so close (20-30 minutes by foot) to Saint Marco square. The district around the hotel is not very romantic.
The best thing about this hotel was leaving. The location was good and close to train station and tourist attractions. Bit of a rat hole. The hotel has no lift so very difficult carring luggage up stairs. The room was extremely small, couldn't open the cupboard more than a few inches as it was so close to the bed. The restraunt was under our room and they played the piano etc. till really late. Very hard to sleep. Bed was small. Breakfast was minimal, not much variety. Reception staff ok and free internet.
The hotel was conveniently located to both railway and bus stations and we liked the view from our room overlooking a canal. The area was quiet and there were some reasonably good but not expensive restaurants close by. The staff were helpful. The hotel (recommended by friends who had stayed there) suited our needs well and we were very happy with the choice. The breakfast, taken at the restaurant next door, was adequate but offered exactly the same each morning. We would have liked a little more variety.
very nice part of town, close to carparking and train station. good breakfast in nice garden. very friendly & helpful staff quiet small rooms but very good value for money in Venice
I liked the feeling of the hotel, and that I got what I expected: a cheap, small but clean room with everyday cleaning and with nice staff.
We had a good size room, with a nice view of the gardens. Location was also good. We didn't find the staff helpful or friendly at all, which made us feel uncomfortable about staying there. I would not return or recommend it. The room was stuffy and smelt heavily of cheap air freshener. Downstairs is a restaurant where you have breakfast, this was open to the public till late, and had loud music playing which made it hard to sleep.
Sign needs to be a bit bigger as if you're arriving at night the hotel is missable!!!
Personalet flinke, men serviceniveauet middelmådigt.
