Ulemper: "I was told a wheel chair would be available to help me get to Terminal E in Zurich. I had literally TO RUN to catch my connecting flight to NYC since the chair was not their for me in Zurich. I almost missed my flight. I am a 79 years old woman. That was one terrible experience."

Fordele: "The crew was polite and helpful. The wine was free and each seat had it's own screen with a good assortment of movies and TV shows."

The staff speaks impeccable English, there is much more leg room than on flights with American companies, and it is so pleasant to get pillows, blankets, headphones, drinks (including wine), snacks and 2 meals on our international flight and not feel nickle and dimed the way we do now on domestic flights."

Fordele: "Swiss' Zurich Airport Business lounge is the most comfortable I've experienced. The flight attendants were professional, courteous and very helpful. A very enjoyable flight experience in business class."

Ulemper: "There is little that can be done to make a long haul flight comfortable when a baby is screaming and crying for it's entire duration. Its behaviour cannot be helped. But it certainly didn't make the flight comfortable, nor did the young child kicking incessantly at the back of my and my daughter's seats. This could have occurred on any flight, but it didn't contribute to having a positive experience on this one. The flight attendant serving breakfast completely ignored that fact that I was awake and strolled past without asking if I would like anything as meals were being served. I informed another flight attendant that we hadn't been offered breakfast and she was able to provide us with meals. Besides this the cabin crew were courteous and pleasant. I've flown with Swiss on other occasions and have had better experiences. I'd like to think this was just a one off and not representative of the level of service that Swiss normally provides."

Fordele: "The thing I liked most was being offered water routinely. I think I had the options to have a glass of water six times on my flight. For some reason flying really dries me out - so I really appreciated that. The seats were more spacious than the average flights I take. There were lots of movie options. There was more than enough space in the overhead compartment. I"

Ulemper: "The handle of the pull-stick that slides into the suitcase was broken off with the pull-stick sticking out of the TUMI suitcase. Used a pen point to release it and get it back into the suitcase. No handle so it was impossible to drag the suitcase. The ground personnel representing Swiss Air at the Boston Baggage carousel was a novice, had never filled out a baggage claim form before. Told me they would phone me. I am a bit skeptical about this claim. Not sure if it was Swiss Air of the local ground personnel who damaged the suitcase."

Ulemper: "Didn't have good selection of drink. Very tight seats never came by to pick up or ask if needed anything. Only saw them went serving dinner. I will never fly swiss air again."

Ulemper: "You should board the plane from the back so people aren't climbing over each other. Paying to pick a seat is a huge turnoff. Economy very cramped. Lufthansa was better on that."

Fordele: "Great cabin crew, decent food in coach, great entertainment system with many movie choices."
Ulemper: "Swissair charges extra to reserve a standard, not premium seat in coach. The practice should be disclosed at the time the ticket is purchased, to make comparison shopping easier. Otherwise, it constitutes a hidden fee, and that's what the customer remembers."

Fordele: "The crew was exceptional: friendly and professional."
Ulemper: "The seat was really small and I am 5.1ft. The screen was bigger than other flight companies but when the passenger in front of me put down the seat I wasn't able to watch the video comfortably. The entertainment sistem was a little bit old."

Fordele: "Wonderfully nice crew. Food is pretty decent even with Economy. Seats are comfortable."
Ulemper: "Their iPhone App (and to a lesser extend the website too) is awfully slow. It takes forever to gather booking info and check in. Sometimes the boarding pass just don't get delivered to my SMS. Small selection of shows on personal screen. ZRH-HKG flights don't even have touch screens, and the UI is very antiquated."

Ulemper: "Please improve food. Same cold sandwich was given again and again. There was no tea, coffee, cold drink, fruit or chocolates. The menu was very bad. We are disappointed with food."

Ulemper: "Many flights were grounded for several hours because of some airline operational glitch. We were provided with no information or guidance about how to resume our travels. As we tried to sort ourselves out we were sent from lineup to lineup without much progress or friendly service."

Fordele: "Flight was badly delayed and they changed the gates 3 times with no proper announcements. As a result connecting in Istanbul after 23 hours flight from LAX I missed my flight to Baku. I was made to pay EUR 651 one way at THY transfer desk for another flight which was also delayed."
Ulemper: "For THY being more professional, taking responsibility for their mistakes and not punishing their customers for THY carelessness. As I understand this situations happen all the time."

Ulemper: "Flight from Copanhagen to Istanbul was delayed for an hour...computer malfunction was the reason. I was a little bit stressed because I had a connecting flight to Manila, was afraid i wouldn't make it. And also, no gate assignment yet for Istanbul to Manila. Since it was my first time to travel via Turkish Airline, not familiar with Istanbul airport."

Ulemper: "In Istanbul the line for boarding was badly mismanaged, something unusual for them."

Ulemper: "The flight was delayed over two hours causing great stress and worry about missing our next flight, which we did. As there were many of us on the neit flight also I wonder if any effort was made to hold that flight for us."

Ulemper: "They cancelled my returning flight WITHOUT me knowing and expecting me to pay for the penalty fee for misisng the first flight even tho I DID not cancel the returning flight which obviously I was gonna take. The staff was RUDE and INSENSITIVE. Qatar was better in overall customer service. Worst customer service from Turkish airline."

Fordele: "Turkish Airlines er normalt, som samlet pakke min favorit, men når indtjekning vælger at sætte 2 voksne mænd på sæder ved nødudgangen der kun er ca. 75% i størrelse af normle (små) sæder, så er 3½ time til Istanbul en lang sammenklemt oplevelse."

Ulemper: "Too frequent delays. Both directions connection flight missed, due to delayed flight. Both delays seems happened due to landing queue load (plane rounded in air more than hour before landing)"

Ulemper: "Ground staff very unhelpful and arrogant. Wanted to upgrade to business class and the representative who served me was very rude and unhelpful. Boarding was through buses which was inefficient and messy. My trip was 11 hours of flying time. Economy seating is super tight and legroom awful. For long haul flights they must be more generous in terms of seat size and legroom."

Ulemper: "They lost my check in bag and are offering no compensation whatsoever. I have to buy malaria medication and clothes"

Ulemper: "We had to spend the night in Istanbul and get only on the next flight the following morning. TK airport (ground) staff that talked to us was antipathetic and it took ages to get any service. Looks like they didn't care we about the delay, nor they were trying to help us. Just kept saying we need to wait."

Ulemper: "The sound on the entertainment system is not good...it used to be good but not anymore"

Ulemper: "The flight was almost full. I was assigned an aile seat at row 37. My seat did not recline- because there is a wall behind it - howevera the window seat had a small recline. The seat in front of me when reclined left an unusually small space in front of my face. I was very uncomfortable. I'm a small person weighs 145 lb. this was my fourth flight with Turkish Airlines and was the worst. My wife next to me in the middle seat was fortunate that the passenger in front of her did not recline her seat."

Ulemper: "everything planes were gross and not cleaned in between flights stewardesses were rude and unhelpful food gross passengers were treated like cattle most of the announcements were not even made in english"

Ulemper: "The seat spacing on that flight was some of the tightest I have ever seen - worse than even most of the short-haul (Embraer) flights i have been on - barely manageable for 3.5 hours. Flight attendants were borderline rude and bossy, but they had to be, because the passengers were loud and unruly."

Ulemper: "Old plane with questionable food, only few movies. Not impressed and considering not using TA again"

Ulemper: "Very poor experience , no clear gate assignment prior to boarding , i missed this flight due to no gate info poping on the monitors. Bad customer experience , No manners no proper English, By Far the worst experience."

Fordele: "Enjoyed the long flight with warm hospitality"

Ulemper: "I was at the gate for my flight from Istanbul to Bucharest but 25 minutes before departure I noticed that passengers were lining up at a different gate so I asked what happened. I was told the flight had departed even though it was still 25 minutes before flight time. I then had to go to ticket sales where they charged me $425 dollars for the 80 minute flight to Bucharest. In the US, I would have been put on the next available flight fee of charge. I will never fly Turkish Airlines again."

Ulemper: "The airplane was a really warm temperature when we boarded."

Ulemper: "I didn't like the fact that I was not able to change the flight for the earlier flight which had many free seats. Despite this, I had to wait 7 hours in the airport, it was really bad..."

Fordele: "DC to Istanbul: Good food and nice flight experience. Helpful staff were always ready to help. Istanbul to DC: clean, maintained aitcraft, nice crew, good food."
Ulemper: "DC to Istanbul: Broken bathroom lock. Not very clean aisles. Very few English speaking crew. Istanbul to DC: Ran out of second option lunch. This seem to happen frequently. Most of the crew members were strangely not around. This resulted in two overworked crew members and lots of trays sitting on our laps for sometime. I was curios what all the other ones were doing."

Fordele: "Food and service was excellent."
Ulemper: "Get rid of the foot rest, it blocks the ability to stretch your legs during a long flight. As a result, it was a very uncomfortable flight. I do not know of any other long haul airlines that have these. I will probably not fly Turkish Airlines on any flights over 3 hours due to the cramped space caused by your footrests. Other than space, everything else was excellent."

Ulemper: "The plane wasn't very full and my wife and I had 3 seats each to lay down and sleep on the long transatlantic flight"

Fordele: "Clean airplane, food was better than the typical "pasta or chicken""
Ulemper: "Entire group waited to board at makeshift gate. No place to sit and minimal climate control. No word from the airline about when we would board or what was causing the delay. Very poor communication from Turkish Airlines overall."

Fordele: "The crew was friendly and the flight wasnt delayed, nor were my bags lost."
Ulemper: "The seat next to me had two kids sitting in it. The seats are only supposed to have one person per seat. So they we also halfway in my seat also."

"The staff at Frankfurt were incredibly rude telling passengers “I don’t have time for you”. I’ve never had a worse experience than with the ground staff Lufthansa in Frankfurt. Avoid at all costs."

Ulemper: "Lufthansa burde presse lufthavnen i Frankfurt til at ge bemanding imsilkerhedskonteollen. Kl 6.10 i morges tog det 35 min i business køen og mindst 50 mini economy køen"

Ulemper: "Flyet var forsinket så jeg missede forbindelsen til CPH i Frankfurt. Det kan ske. Blev omboket til tidligt fly næste morgen. Sådan måtte det jo så være. Men at skulle stå i kø som business pasager i 55 min for at få hotelvoucher og nyt boardingpass var for meget. Economy havde endnu længere kø. Skikkerhedstjek næste morgen i Frankfurt tog 35 min for business og op mod 1t for economy!"

Ulemper: "Agent changed our flight to Munich and sent as a email with with confirmation on July 10. involuntary. On July 20. I checked Lufthansa app and found that only flight that was shown was flight Toronto-Thunder Bay. After 3 hours of phoning I found that flight from Munich to Toronto wasn’t available for date that was given us in email. Only option was day earlier or later. Left us to take day earlier and we could not changed last flight( Toronto- Thunder Bay). We had to come on Aug 22. and stay in Toronto for 27 hours and than take a flight to Thunder Bay on Aug 23. We lost a day of our vacation, had to stay at hotel. Not good experience at all. We still don’t know whom to complain about that."

Ulemper: "reached in time for onward connection but the gate had closed 30 mins before and had to stay overnight in munich Lufthansa did poor job of communicating rebook on same day thr Delhi.By the time we got to see agent in service desk that connection thr Delhi was also not an option.veryfew counters muni"

Ulemper: "A delay due to an electrical storm prevented us from taking off for over an hour which we had to wait to end on the plane."

Ulemper: "New planes have 9 sits in the rove (economy class) which affects the passengers comfort."

Fordele: "Entertainment and food were geat and a great distraction from the seating arrangement and the horrible leg area."
Ulemper: "Not having a chair leg in the middle of the leg area. being able to sit next to my partner instead of having us split up. If we bought two tickets at the same time we should have been able to sit together. Lastly the huge delay that caused us to miss are final flight."

Ulemper: "Couldn't check in online and because I booked pretty late, didn't get the seat choice I wanted. I purchased the flight via the Lufthansa site, but then on check-in, I found out that the first segment was SAS, so neither the Lufthansa site nor the SAS site let me check in online."

Ulemper: "We were put on standby. We expected our names to be called for seat assignments but we didn’t expect we could just swipe our boarding pass and our seat assignment would show. It’s a nice feature but I didn’t like that it wasn’t clearly explained to us."

Fordele: "very good on-board service , good LH crew while checking in i got an upgrade to premium economy very good food ....quite surprised easy check-in , no problem with suitcase that was a bit overweight"
Ulemper: "arriving in toronto , arrival gate at pearson was blocked by another plane ...so despite being a few minutes early , arrival at the terminal was finally 20min later than scheduled"

Fordele: "The agent worked hard to find us another flight to rome"
Ulemper: "Our plane sat on turnac in Toronto waiting for a parking gate for 30minutes making us miss our connecting flight. Finally arrived but missed our train to Florence had to stay Saturday night in Rome while our villa in Lucca sat empty which was paid for"

Ulemper: "Everything, lost luggage and missed flights because of flights not making their time."

Fordele: "The crew was amazing and so welcoming! They did not flinch when they saw my three-year-old son and went out their way to make sure we had everything we needed. It was very nice to be greeted with such hospitality!"

Ulemper: "We did not request special meals because in the past there has always been an option without cheese. For both legs of the trip, everything had cheese. They tasted great, but left my husband eating only bread. At the first meal the crew just shrugged their shoulders. Second meal they brought him a snack from business class, but it had cream cheese on the sandwich. Drinks were only served during the meals on an 8 hour flight. When crew came back through at the first meal, they only had two bottles of wine in hand offering top offs (no cart, just physically carrying the bottles). We do not drink alcohol. During the second meal I did not even see them offering the top offs. All other airlines have at least come through a couple of times offering water or soda. Announcements were only audible half the time. Customs forms were confusing for people passing through Canada. This might have been explained over the intercom, but again, it was hard to hear."

Ulemper: "Departure was delayed causing me to miss my connection from Frankfurt to San Francisco."

Fordele: "The plane was extra comfortable . The Lufthanza is it exceptional airline very nice people better than most American Airlines"

Fordele: "The crew was organized and very polite. Even if it was a bit of delay the plane made it in time and luggage was readily available"
Ulemper: "One thing that everyone was complaining about was the temperature . It was very cold and nobody anted to do anything about it. Another thing that I found unwise was the entertainment. It was a large selection of movies with very explicit sexual content. I didn't travel with kids but I was thinking what I would've done if my kids were seated next to a person like I did who was watching this kind of movies.."

Ulemper: "Check in very confusing, switched gates on me but I didn’t get the text until later, after take off. No announcement over the PA system in the airport. If my son, who was picking me up, hadn’t been tracking my flight, I would have missed it."

Fordele: "I have never flown with Lufthansa, but now, I will fly with them any chance I get. The crew were amazing. Friendly and attentive. For airplane food, it was very good and tasty. Received headphones, a pillow and a blanket for the flight. Legroom was good, but probably cramped for people over 6'0" tall. 24 hour online check-in was smooth an trouble free. I like having the boarding pass on my phone. No paper to carry around."

Ulemper: "This Lufthansa flight was flown through Air Canada, so this review doesn't reflect on other hosts. However the flight was the worst service I've ever had on an airline in every category."

Fordele: "Brand new plane, pleasant attentive staff. Delayed leaving but most of time made up. Since plane was new everything was clean and worked well *including audio, good movie selection too."

Fordele: "The price was good and connections were well-timed. Lufthansa had great food and service. A glass of pear brandy after dinner? Yes, please! I've seen a few other negative reviews for Lufthansa, but I've always had great experiences with them. The crew and food are top-notch."
Ulemper: "We had two legs on Lufthansa and the third was Air Canada. Lufthansa was great; great service, great food. But on Air Canada there was no food on a 5-hr international flight, the video screen didn't work well, and the flight attendant was having a rough day. And we took off at least 30 minutes late due to a couple of technical issues."

Fordele: "The flight attendants were very polite and helpful. The seats had those "wings" on either side of the head rest to help keep your head from bobbing back and forth. There were a few good movies to watch that were current, but a lot of old movies that we had zero interest in."
Ulemper: "The flight was considered a Lufthansa flight and had a Lufthansa flight number, but was operated by Air Canada. We could not check in online ahead of time for some reason. When we got to the airport, we tried to check in at the Lufthansa kiosk and check in line, but they told us we had to go to the Air Canada area. The ticketing/check in process was very confusing. As for the food, the chicken "wrap" was not a wrap, and was a weird Hot-Pocket type meal. After each meal, we ended up having to hold our garbage for quite some time which made manuvering in and out of seats a little tricky. I wish the seat cushion had a little more cushion since we were sitting for so long. Also at some point the overhead lights came on and stayed on, which was annoying if you were trying to nap."

Ulemper: "The return leg has been nothing but a disaster, in every way possible, specifically my time and financially. At no point in the booking process, when I paid over $800 for the trip, was I told that I needed a specific travel visa (Canadian ETA) to fly back into Toronto for my return flight. Subsequently when I checked in for my flight yesterday morning in Manchester, England, I did not have the required travel documents and had to be rerouted onto a flight into the U.S. at a cost to me of $350. The rerouted flight got me to Washington Dulles airport, where I then had to purchase a second flight to get me home to Cleveland, Ohio, at an additional/extra cost of $450. MY CAR IS PARKED AT TORONTO PEARSON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT!!! I am having to now rent a car and drive there tomorrow (Friday) to collect my car, at another additional cost of $100 plus a 10-hour round trip. Due to the lack of information and communication on your companies behalf, I am down close to a $1,000 and will lose 2-days in work as of the additional days I am having to travel back to Toronto to collect my vehicle. I would appreciate contact from your organization to find the avenue I need to take for compensation of my time and finances. Regards"

Ulemper: "This airline has little respect for its customers. In the economy/coach cabin, they squeeze the seat distances to such an extent that, when the person in front of you leans their chair back, you cannot get out of your seat at an upright angle. You have to significantly bend your body. To not loose your balance, you have to grab on to the seat in front of you and that disturbs the other passenger. If they're sleeping, they can be woken up by that. Lufthansa does not care much for its passengers. Nor do many other companies, for that matter, but I think Lufthansa is taking things further than most airlines. It is a disgrace. Their brand is not what it once was."

Ulemper: "The flight was delayed for 2.5 hours, for a reason they never made clear after they let the passengers wait in line for 45 minutes to board. Once aboard, the Lufthansa planes were much much less comfortable than the Air Canada plane I took to Frankfurt. There is very little space and the seats are crammed together. The food they served was very bad, especially again in comparison with Air Canada. Once we arrived in Toronto, they made us wait nearly an hour before exiting the aircraft. It would seem that the Toronto airport would have to know we were coming and should have prepared accordingly, but apparently not. We sat, several passengers missed their connecting flights and were angry. I nearly missed my flight, having to run and race through customs (who are in no hurry)."

Ulemper: "The flight from Budapest to Vienna was delayed so we missed our connection to Tel Aviv. The behavior of the ground staff who were supposed to assist us was outrageous. They behaved like a low cost company with one answer to any request, and this is the word "NO". It does not seem logical that we ever go with Austrian again. We do deserve a compensation for the delay and the behavior."

Fordele: "Good food, lots of movies, flight attendants friendly"
Ulemper: "We paid to pre-book our seats and when we got on the plane they had been given away. We heard several different reasons, none of which made is feel better about the two middle seats we were told we had no choice but to take, while people who had NOT prepaid sat in our aisle seat. It was offensive to be forced to pay to select our seats in advance on a major international airline in the first place, and then to not have those honored just made it worse."

Ulemper: "We were advised to arrive at the gate 45 minutes before departure. We waited an hour and a half more until we boarded. The plane was late on arrival but there were no announcements. No one knew what was going on or when we would board. There was no food served whatsoever. Just beverages. There was no entertainment."

Fordele: "They had a yummy snack. And fresh veggies. With great coffee. And the host told us abou the history of a Vienna dessert."

Ulemper: "On the arrival at Toronto, there was no one at the gate to roll out the gangway bridge. So we waited on the plane 10 minutes. We were flying on to LAX on Air Canada. It took 1 3/4 hours for our luggage to clear the US Customs pre check. Unsatisfactory."

Ulemper: "I had paid for an upgrade to sit in the front of the cabin with extra legroom (row 14A). When I boarded a man sat it my seat. He had not paid for the upgrade, but the crew let him stay in my seat. I had asked him to social distance but he continued to sit right behind me bo matter which seat I moved to. He argued with the crew until they gave up and let him stay. They did not check his boarding pass or ask him to move to his assigned seat I found a different seat away from him but I don’t see the point in paying for extra legroom when the crew let’s people who haven’t paid for it sit it those seats. I felt harassed by the man and was very uncomfortable the whole flight. I am considering my next step, I think I should at least receive a refund for the upgrade I paid for."

Ulemper: "Staff was not particularly warm or attentive. Was never offered more to drink, and after asking for more wine was ignored."

Ulemper: "Transavia does not serve anything complementary, not even water. A flight between two countries that is five hours long must be better than this. I was not aware of Transavia doing that before I booked. I will never fly with them again"

Fordele: "15 years ago I told myself not to fly Delta anymore. But these 2 flights Detroit to Amsterdam and back changed my mind. I enjoyed the flight very much and I'm looking forward to the next one."

I sat in the middle seat between two hours other men. It was a constant struggle arm space. After 7hours in the air I could not wait to get off the plane. If I didn't actually pay an extra €60 for the seat I may not feel bad but I feel like I might have been better off without paying for the "upgrade""

Ulemper: "Exceptionally unhelpful customer service when asking about extra kilos/bags. Just quoted the online info back at us. We simply wanted to know how much would be charged if the bag was 1-2kgs overweight. We could not get a straight answer, just quoted the unclear company policy. Extremely frustrating and annoying. KLM offer a superior flight experience - it is a shame their terrestrial customer servic does not match it!"
