I stayed here a year ago and the renovations to the rooms from then to now are wonderful. Room was clean and crisp. Would be nice if the room had a fridge though. Unlike the other two Double Tree's in the Boston area this one has a shuttle to the airport and it will also shuttle you to the downtown area making it convenient for sightseeing. The other two look more elegant but I would pick this one for those two perks the others don't offer. At almost $300 for one night it was too expensive - being a holiday week and the big rowing event in town I think it's called price gouging. Also the people at the front desk could have used a bit more training and should be taught not to mumble when they talk. And after my stay I've called 3 times trying to inquire why the charge on my card is higher than my receipt. First call to the front desk they hung up on me, second call I was put on hold and they never picked up again, third call the phone rang 17 times before somebody picked up - he gave me an explanation that made no sense. I will try one more time this week before filing a formal complaint.
Staff was very helpful and the shuttle service prompt and courteous. No early breakfast ... had to leave at 05:00 AM and there was little to eat before heading out.
The staff was great and very helpful! Rooms were nice and clean! Location was not good for us other than it's proximity to the subway. Lobby, breakfast and bar areas were dirty but rooms were clean!
The hotel was easy to find as it was right off the highway. Our room was super clean, bathroom was spottless. Hotel staff were all super friendly. We had to pay $15 a night for parking which I found insane since we were already paying $100 a night for the room. They also charged for wifi unless you were a Hilton Rewards member which I didn't like. When I did sign up for the Hilton rewards to get the free wifi the wifi connection was awful and I couldn't imagine paying for something that barely worked. When you're paying that much for a room per night the least they could do is include wifi. No continental breakfast. They also did not have. Refrigerator in the room. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly but that's all you get for your money.
Room was clean There are many things about this hotel we did not like. For starters the manager Mohammed was not very helpful at all. He did not even point us in the right direction to find our room. Also I think it is rediclous that we had to pay $12 dollars to park at the hotel when we are staying there. It should have been included. Also since we paid $120 for the room breakfast should have been included but we were told we did not qualify for the free breakfast in the morning. We will be visiting boston again in the very near future but we will not be stayying at the double tree on Vernon st off of exit 15 in Boston. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone mainly because the staff and manager were not polite and were horrible at their jobs. I hope other double tree hotels are not like this one.
Deli/cafe staff was a little uppity
Comfort and cookies Can't even get a free coffee in the lobby unless you get a buffet....
I like the shuttle to/from the airport. The convenient access to JKM/UMASS T station.
Location was convenient to the T (subway) and bus line. I know there is a park close by as well as the JFK Library. I didn't get to see much of anything due to frigid temps. I had to check out a day early due to an impending blizzard. Laura, the office manager was super helpful and authorized a refund. There is a cafe right on the lobby. Food is so so but convenient if you want grab something quick.
There was an employee at the front desk (not the one who checked me in) and she was extremely helpful in telling me where to go to catch the subway. She was worth the stay! But sorry I do not remember her name. The shuttle service from the airport was horrible. The instructions of the pick-up location were terrible. I had to call the main hotel phone number which took me a few minutes to wade through the automated service. The driver did not see me and left. When he picked me up he said he didn't speak English. But the next morning, he was speaking English very well to the front desk employees. The employees I spoke to on the phone from the hotel were rude and patronizing. I would not stay here again in order to catch the shuttle to the airport.
I didn't like anything there. The staff were not professional. I will never recommend anyone to stay there. The staff were rude. We didn't have towels. We called for it and it 30 minutes to get it.
the internet and the shuttle to airport
The shuttle to the metro The smell of the room as if people do smoke there although it is none smoking room
Difficult to find an hotel in Boston area, with acceptable fare . Comfort Inn Boston do propose it at a "regular" rate. Hotel near train tracks. Train noise during the night. Extra 3 $ fee to pay in addition to booking.com rate. I think I booked twin beds , but Comfort Inn didn't get the request.
For me having lived in Dorchester for many yrs and recently moved to the country, it is super convienient for a wkend getaway.
Very unhelpful and inexperienced front desk. I booked a double room and they tried to give me a single. When I went back down to correct their mistake they tried to tell me they were sold out. The shuttle took 2+ hours to get to the hotel. There was a train right next to the hotel that kept us up all night.
closeness to the city next to train tracks, couldn't sleep the all night due to the trains passing by
Comfortable bed! We waited for airport shuttle 45 minutes, called hotel several times and they said it will be coming... Didn't show so we then took taxi $37.50, good thing hotel paid for it. All kinds of debris in front of hotel.
Paid a little over $100.00, and no valet fees seeing as how it is self parking. Free breakfast.
remote control did not control the t.v, we were in a handicapped room, so once you were in bed, how does a handicapped person change the channel??
The staffs are very nice. Our room was very noisy from 5:50am to 12:45am every day because it's next to the Tline metro track. The train runs every few minutes, very annoying.
Water was leaking from my bathroom ceiling.
convenient shuttle route to take the train I had 2 reservation for one night and one week, when my second reservation started the hotel made a mistake and cancel my reservation for no reason, apparently "someone" cancel the reservation, the Manager (Kellie Pabst) didn't know who and when did this cancellation. She wanted to charge again for the one week reservation, I had to call Expedia to have a solution, because the Manager didn't want to do anything. I had to wait 4 hours to solve this problem, but the manager didn't seem worry about it. She treat me very unrespecfull
The staff were extremely helpful, the drivers pick you up and take you to and from JFK u mass train station, the front desk answered all my questions and were extremely friendly and joked around like they were our friends. Location looks a little shady but had no problems at this Ramada, all around an enjoyable visit l
Great distance from the city and close to the expressway. The rooms were loud because the windows wouldn't shut all the way, the wifi didn't work and the TV's need to be updated. For a 1 night stay, a little pricey.
It is an old filthy building. False advertising. Does not look ANYTHING like what was advertised!!! Only good thing about it was the mattress and the breakfast. Other than that it was a dump. Bad area too.
The only thing I liked about this hotel was the staff they were very friendly with everything. The hotel was being renovated so everything looked like it was in shambles, that's fine and understandable even though no where online does it state that. The rooms are situated in a very weird way my room had a window that was facing a wall on the inside hallway and there was no light coming in. The doors didn't lock property and the hallway felt like a sauna because if the pool that you can view from the hallways walking to most of the rooms. Overall this place was a big over priced rip off I could have stayed at a motel 6 for much better
Personel at front desk and shuttle driver No area for people to really go to wait for 3:00 check in. Vacuum cleaner left in breakfat area. No bath plug to allow one to take bath. Dirty in room. No cups. Dirty carpet. Broken bar in bathroom that should have been repaired. I asked for wake up call that didn't happen. I wanted to take 4 am shuttle was told it was full. Took 5 am. Big traffic congestion at Airport. Lucky. It would have been nice to have better directory of a available places to eat or go to within walking distAnce. I would not recommend. Even paying less money. I expect cleanliness and basic services
The free shuttle too and from the T station was awesome! Made the vacation so much easier, and all the drivers and front desk workers were really friendly. Also close proximity to a bowling alley and restaurants were nice for when we didnt want to go far from the hotel. The room was dirty... found mold in both the mini fridge and the area that i thought contained the thermostat on the air conditioner. Carpets were stained and the hallways were so hot and humid!
Nothing Toilets didn't work. Hall smelled like smoke. Too much noise in the halls.
Clean room, super soft pillows, easy to get to, very friendly staff Very cold hallways, tv stations were all very staticy
Friendly professional staff. Free breakfast buffet. Free wifi. I've stayed here before for business. Something always wrong...one time the heater broke. Another time the shower head was too low, like it was installed for a midget. Another time there was a weird stain on the heater. Sometimes the room has bad wifi (hotel has a few dead spots). No room service. Hotel used to be a motel that was later enclosed. So the hallways are as cold as the outside. Strange place.
Those beds and pillows are amazing. Had to take a look at the brand so I can buy one in the future when I move out Lol. Free breakfast too The bathroom needs to be redone the sink is in the room. For the most part it's fine for a quick night or two.
We stayed on 3rd floor. It was very inconveniet since elevator did not work, However they had an excellent continental breakfast.
I liked the room and location once I got into the room it was very nice and I would stay there again if I had to. I didn't like the fact that I reserved my room online and no where on there said I needed a credit card for the $100 holding fee so when I get there I couldn't use my card I reserved the room with. And instead of putting the customer first I got treat like it was my fault and got the run around. The person at the desk kept telling me when you pay online they should have the policy on there and I said they didn't so that's between. You and them I didn't know so how we going to resolved this? I even called customer service for the place I purchased the hotel on and still couldn't get it resolved. I had to call my mom to use her credit card. I think you guys need to make sure that the policy of the $100 hold on their credit card should be put online when they book a room online or should somehow have a better solution to this for ppl who don't know this and use their cards that is not credit cards because if not tell ppl to book with the hotel so they can get all the information straight from you guys so they won't be blindsided once they get there and can't use their let's say pre paid card or something.
