Boarding stuff was bad!!!

25 minute flight. Crew was friendly and competent.

The departure was delayed by more than 30 min. Late arrival. Crew was fantastic!

Fordele: "The two people who were in charge of boarding the plane were especially nice, efficient, and accommodating. I really really liked them."

Ulemper: "Food was terrible. Paid for first class, expected something better than coach. Our food choice was a ham sandwich, there were better choices but the crew took them for themselves so nothing left for the 1st class passengers. Similar situation on our eastbound flight the week earlier. I doubt if Delta knows or cares that this occurs. After paying more than twice the coach fare, we expect something better than a ham sandwich on a coast to coast flight."

The person sitting next to me(in the middle was a fairly large (height not weight) and his arms and shoulders were pretty much flowing into my seat( I sat by the window). Leg room of course was fine. Very cold draft coming from the airplane(window?)"

Ulemper: "My flight to PDX was quite bumpy so food and beverage service were impacted, which I totally understand. However, the fact that I was not served at all, does not sit well with me! They had to stop service with only a few rows left to go due to turbulence but rather it just being a delay in service, the flight attendants never came back to check on the customers they hadn’t served even when the seat belt lights turned off. I really enjoy flying Delta but not this time!"
Ulemper: "Change my seat when I was boarding. I already had my seat # assigned before boarding. Sat next to a man with a strong body odor. I came down with a sore throat last night so I was feeling pretty bad. Then to endure a long flight with that smell which made my trip very uncomfortable."
Fordele: "How does one describe spending 10+ hours in a metal tube approximately 18 feet wide at 30,000 feet with 300 of your closest friends breathing the same air while having the seat in front of you pushed back so you cannot adequately see the passenger monitor because it's too close to focus on as your knees are under your chin? Flying in "steerage" is not comfortable as humans get larger and airplane seats get squeezed smaller. Please unsqueeze! Cabin crew members were excellent. Other than that, Europe was great!"

Fordele: "On the fight back I had enough space; good service; fine food. Great trip. On the way to Amsterdam, I sat next to a very overweight woman and her body hung over my seat. I couldn't move around enough and I ended up with a trigger point problem which immobilized me for 3 days and kept me from sleeping at night. It was very disappointing, since this was a family visit trip."

Ulemper: "The fact they wasted two days of my trip with my son travelling from the U.S. to China because they didn't know about transit visa regulations. And so far they offered a 75 dollar voucher for participating merchants. Unacceptable"

Fordele: "Food was OK, ice cream at mid-flight was my favorite thing. I liked the choice of movies. Drinks are also good but why not include pure cranberry juice? It goes great with vodka."
Ulemper: "Boarding is ridiculous. Everyone who is not some kind of VIP is asked to line up and is treated like cattle. 5-feet tall woman holds above her head a sign with the zone currently boarding. Nobody can hear or see anything. Why not use the big LCD displays at the gate??? In the plane they had to restart the computer system as some TVs were not working and it took longer than they said. Toilets were kind of stinky and I could smell them from my seat on row 26. Blankets are way too thin for the blasting AC."

Ulemper: "This was the fourth first class leg of our overall trip and the first three flights on Delta were great. The attendants were pleasant and even fun. I have allergies and requested a special meal on all legs. No problem on the first three flights. All attendants approached me to confirm my allergy and the special meal. They were very polite. But on this flight, the attendant didn't speak with me about it at all. She tried to give me the regular meal. When I explained I needed an allergy free meal (mind you this was first class), I was told I could not get it and got no apology or other accommodation. Her attitude was take it or leave it. I found this interesting since on two of the other flights an announcement was made about another passenger with an allergy to peanuts so no one could have them on the flights and the attendants were very concerned."

Ulemper: "One of the men working the desk at the gate was rude & condescending to me. The other gate agent who was having us board (he was an ethnic man) was friendly & excellent."

Ulemper: "Flyet var forsinket så jeg missede forbindelsen til CPH i Frankfurt. Det kan ske. Blev omboket til tidligt fly næste morgen. Sådan måtte det jo så være. Men at skulle stå i kø som business pasager i 55 min for at få hotelvoucher og nyt boardingpass var for meget. Economy havde endnu længere kø. Skikkerhedstjek næste morgen i Frankfurt tog 35 min for business og op mod 1t for economy!"

Ulemper: "It was Air Canada. Terrible service. Staff needs education on where to take travelers thru the immigration locations. Wasted time going to different locations and time is an essentence! Too many changes of staff from one location to another when it came with wheelchair assistance. One staff was on her personal phone!!! Had 3 different changes of hands then still did not get us to the right terminal, had to run to make the flight! Is that how you treat a 86 years old traveler?"

Ulemper: "Couldn't check in online and because I booked pretty late, didn't get the seat choice I wanted. I purchased the flight via the Lufthansa site, but then on check-in, I found out that the first segment was SAS, so neither the Lufthansa site nor the SAS site let me check in online."
Ulemper: "It was weird that for dinner the meal was vegan as requested, but the breakfast was not and so couldn't eeat it. It was weird that one meal was correct and the other was so lacking."

Ulemper: "We were put on standby. We expected our names to be called for seat assignments but we didn’t expect we could just swipe our boarding pass and our seat assignment would show. It’s a nice feature but I didn’t like that it wasn’t clearly explained to us."
Ulemper: "United connection in San Francisco was over 2 hours late, didn't arrive home until 2:30AM."

Ulemper: "I was surrounded by about 6 babies. This is not acceptable for a long flight! I would like to have options as to where I sit. There should be a baby section where families pay more to be in a section on their own!!"

Unable to check-in online ahead of time for unknown reasons. Overall the Air Canada ground experience was pretty bad, but the crew/meals/entertainment was good."
Fordele: "They waited for those who were running late due to a previous flight delay. The crew was super friendly and there was great movie suggestions."
Ulemper: "There was a lot of turbulance which made a lot of the passengers sick. I think also that they collected the headphones too early like 45 mins/1 hour too early before landing. Also landing felt like it was the longest landing in my life."

Wrote in the previous message. Poor. Delayed flight and lost working day. 4.5h together to rebook the flight, get the hotel voucher, get to the hotel and check in. Insanely slow.

Ulemper: "I had paid for an upgrade to sit in the front of the cabin with extra legroom (row 14A). When I boarded a man sat it my seat. He had not paid for the upgrade, but the crew let him stay in my seat. I had asked him to social distance but he continued to sit right behind me bo matter which seat I moved to. He argued with the crew until they gave up and let him stay. They did not check his boarding pass or ask him to move to his assigned seat I found a different seat away from him but I don’t see the point in paying for extra legroom when the crew let’s people who haven’t paid for it sit it those seats. I felt harassed by the man and was very uncomfortable the whole flight. I am considering my next step, I think I should at least receive a refund for the upgrade I paid for."

Fordele: "Everything perfect and arrive to destination on perfect time."

Ulemper: "The only complaint I had was that it was very warm on the flight (and I usually get cold on flights), and in the seats we had there weren't fans above the seats. A few rows up they had fans, so apparently you have to pay extra for air... This wouldn't be a big deal on a short domestic flight, but for an international flight it was a long time to be uncomfortable!"

Ulemper: "This return flight was much better than the flight going to Amsterdam. I believe the biggest factor was the type of aircraft. The old 747 just didn't meet expectations. The newer 777 on the way back was much more comfortable, with better amenities."

Ulemper: "The check in desk was late opening & the carry on luggage size was smaller than advertised on their website, so it had to be put in the hold. Open on time to prevent less stress to travelers & give more accurate information about cabin luggage."

Ulemper: "Didn't allow my carry on. Said too big. Same bag was on earlier connecting flight on much smaller plane. Also on flight on Southwest week prior. But larger intercontinental flight wouldn't allow it."
Fordele: "It was so easy to board and I had no inconvenience. It took 4 minutes from when I said goodbye to my family till when I was at the front of the gate."

Ulemper: "KLM had bumped us to a later flight for no reason and again we had to call with a long wait to get our original connection restored, However, we did not get boarding passes during checking in Europe and thus had to go outside security in Detroit to the main check-in gate and wait 30 minutes to get the error resolved. Then it was back thorough security and a rush to the gate to get there in time to board. Lost our original seat assignment and wound up in the last row at the tail of the plane. Extremely poor coordination between KLM and Delta who operated the flight."

Ulemper: "The process of boarding in Amsterdam was not organized and felt more stressful than it needed to be."

Some drinks and basic snack will be good. Water should be served at least once an hour. Blankets for folks who might be cold.

Ulemper: "To begin, the flight could've left on time. We departed late and arrived at ORD 90 minutes late. Overall, a negative experience with Icelandair as the outbound flight also had delay issues. Not a good first experience with this airline."

Ulemper: "Rekjavik for a transit point has a pleasing aesthetic but is poorly designed for the number of passengers going through it. The flight was late so we had to hoof it, then wait as the next flight was late. Not sure Icelandair really has it down. But we made it."

Fordele: "This is one of the best airlines I've ever flown. Very nice comfortable planes. Excellent air crew. Everything they do is at a high standard. What really sets them apart is the really great service. I had a problem with WOW air not honoring my ticket due to snow. I had to book at the airport on Iceland air last minute. They didn't have a gate agent who could sell me a ticket - so they sent a manager out from the back office to book us so we would not be stranded due to WOW's incompetence. Booked us just minutes before take off, escorted us through security and onto the plane. Start to finish less than 30 minutes. Amazing service. Their class of service is far above that of major carriers. Iceland Air works harder and makes sure everything is right."

Ulemper: "Flight was delayed and no info was given why though we assumed it was because the same reason every other flight was delayed. Ground crew did a pre checkin so that helped speed up process."
Ulemper: "The booking was too tight. We BARELY made our flight to Minneapolis and the airport in Rehkjavik is way too small for the number of flights coming in at the same time. We were in a winding, snakelike line for security that went on forever and then when we got through, the lines for the gates were mixed up, without proper seating areas and separation. People were in the wrong lines because it was too crowded to see where we should be. This is a POORLY run airport that needs significant expansion and improvement."
Ulemper: "Too cramped for an 8 hour flight! Will never fly Icelandic again!!!"

Ulemper: "They land you on tarmac and you have the board a bus to come to the terminal. This is a challenge because the temperature in Reykjavik ranges 40-50F and rains frequently. Challenging for passengers who are not in tip top physical shape,have arthritis , have balance problem ,are older etc. We are talking about people who don't need a wheelchair and can manage well at other airports. No information from crew about what what to expect on landing and about connections. Flight was late and it caused us a lot of stress. Airport not friendly and no information about immigration etc, Only people who are very fit should consider this flight with a transfer at Reykjavik No food served. The steward serving our section was friendly"
Fordele: "This flight was good, direct to PDX in 8 hours. Inflight entertainment was good and staff pleasant. Boarding was smooth and flight was on time. Luggage all retrieved safely at destination."
Ulemper: "My complaint is with Kayak! We believed we were choosing a flight with first bag checked free, but that was so far from the truth! Each of our two checked bags cost $75 USD, adding a brutal $150 to the cost of our flight! Food was also quite expensive."

Ulemper: "The boarding process is hectic as they neither organize the area into rows nor have boarding groups of any kind. the in flight entertainment has many options to choose from but my tv stopped working for about 30 minutes."

Fordele: "Descent selection of movies and tv shows helped with the long flight. Flight times are great for reduced layover times in Iceland from PDX to MAN."

Ulemper: "Not allowed to bring a backpack as carry-on, waited a bit to board the plane. The flight was fine, nothing over the top. What I expected."
Fordele: "Food was as advertised, and entertainment was not at all disappointing."
Ulemper: "Seat screwup... IcelandAir screwed up my seat selection and failed in three opportunities to fix it. During online check-in, I swapped my aisle seat for an exit row middle seat with empty standing room in front of me (because I am tall this is important). Skeptical, I verified this twice at Stockholm ARL by checking computer and with the bagge agent. She reassured me I would have long leg room. Upon boarding, I quickly learned I had been misled: I had a middle seat with short leg room and between two passengers. A flight attendant declined to listen or help me even though better seats were available. It turned out to be my worst trans-oceanic flight among 1 to 2 dozen in my life."
Fordele: "The seats were comfortable and there was plenty of room. The price is usually less."
Ulemper: "Food choices are very limited on flights to The US. The prices are based on the Icelandic economy...very, very expensive. I recommend buying food at the airport and take it on or later. Some planes are older and not as comfortable but there is no way to know ahead of time. The USB port does not charge your device and there is no electrical plug even though it is advertised. After a flight they fold the blankets and reuse the pillows....yuck!"

Fordele: "Icelandair was incredible. The crew was so friendly and helpful and the flight was a breeze. They offer many choices of entertainment on the plane's tv along with food and drink. I would fly Icelandair again and definitely recommend the airline to anyone traveling."
Ulemper: "Nothing about Icelandair, but the Keflavik airport. Boarding the flight while still in Iceland was a little bit of a hassle. The airport is a bit unorganized at the gates and there is no seating around the gates and random lines everywhere"

Ulemper: "The airport in Iceland is atrocious. The worst experience I have ever had in a terminal and boarding. It's hard to believe that there are so few seats at each gate and with several very large flights leaving from one small terminal and all within a few hours of each other it was extremely crowded and very hard to get to any amenities. We had to sit on the Floor!!! Then the boarding was a joke. The line was long and slow and we had to get on a bus and go out to the plane which was very awkward and slow. The bus was packed and very uncomfortable and the smell of diesel was nauseating. It seems like if they are going to accommodate so many large international flights that they would figure out that their infrastructure really needs some upgrades. Can't imagine what it would have been like if the weather had been poor which of course it often is in Iceland! Also, going to Europe, we received a couple of meals and on this flight no food was served. The food they did offer was over priced."
Ulemper: "Why only two bathrooms at the tail of the plane? Makes for a long line of people and not much room to stretch out on an eight hour flight."
Fordele: "In flight services, pleasant flight attendants."
Ulemper: "Took shuttle buses to the plane that was parked on the tarmac. Had stairs to board at the front and rear of the plane. Great to have two access points, in theory. No clear instructions regarding who should board at which staircase. As a result, some passengers who were in the last row boarded at the front door. Might be better to give clear instructions that passengers in seats 23 and higher should board at the rear."

Ulemper: "Airport in Iceland cannot accommodate the number of passengers that fly through there. Long lines, no seats, standing for hours. I won't fly Icelandic air through Rejikyvik again. Also the plane departing from IAD to Iceland was old and uncomfortable. Overall, I feel that I had to run the gauntlet of discomfort and tedium before I could actually enjoy my trip----as if the suffering was part of the package. This airport impacts the flight itself. Now we are supposed to accept an hours delay without apology as if that's ok. Standing in line at the airport for two hours in Iceland just makes me commit to traveling less and becoming more selective in my choice of airlines."
Fordele: "An eight hour flight but no food provided? Only for purchase? I can't think of any overseas flight I've had that didn't provide some type of meal."
Fordele: "The flight, comfort, crew and entertainment was good on my flight"
Ulemper: "The airport was absolute chaos. No room to wait at the gate, poor communication, no info at the gate, late flights, people crammed into the bus for the plane. Seems the amount of travrlers has simply overwhelmed the airport staff and space. Hot cramped airplane and you have to pay for the most meager snack. By contrast, Jet Blue was spacious and comfortable. Unlikely to travel Icelandair in the future."
Fordele: "Well stocked cabin with blankets and pillows."
Ulemper: "Mass boarding from a bus meant people entered from both ends of the plane in no specific order, so were moving in opposite directions in the narrow isle while managing carry on luggage. Not very efficient. Additional,water bottles should be available upon request on overseas flights."
Fordele: "Most of it was great except the for the confusion at the gate."
Ulemper: "4 outbound flights scheduled to go out in a 20 minute period with all gates next to each other. No separation of lines for the different flights. Very confusing and crowded. Caused delays in boarding and discontent amongst travelers."
Ulemper: "the boarding was the worst"
Fordele: "There was a fantastic and extensive entertainment selection for international flights (including safe options for kids and a range of genres for adults). Variety of movies, selections of TV shows, music, audio books, and more. Make sure to bring your own headphones if you don't want to have to buy headphones. When the flight attendants of my first flight realized several of us were going to miss our connecting flights (after we kindly expressed concern while we waited to de-plane), they worked diligently to talk to four different outgoing flights and asked them to stall. To my knowledge we all made it on our connecting flights, though it delayed the flights for others whom had already boarded. It wasn't difficult to get additional water, which is important when in air for an extensive time."
Ulemper: "Based on all of my flights to / from in this journey on Iceland Air, they tend to lose time in air or have some sort of ground delay. That said, I would encourage buyers to select flights with at least a 2 hour stop over in Iceland to prevent stress, especially if you want a wider selection of food sonce the airport has more options and IA doesn't serve food for free on any of their U. S. To/From Europe flights."
Fordele: "Wow Icelandair was great! Some friends used Wow air the day before and despite tickets being a similar price, it sounds like their flight wasn't nearly as nice. One thing I really loved was they had instructional videos about Iceland (driving safety and Icelandic culture for example) on the in flight entertainment system. They also had a really nice selection of movies including fairly new blockbusters and old classics."
Ulemper: "Food and snacks cost extra and weren't cheap, but it's to be expected from such an inexpensive ticket."
Fordele: "It moves quickly"
Ulemper: "No announcement and no idea what was going on. We had to board a bus to get to the plane which is fine but some information would have been helpful!"
Fordele: "it was fine in the foreign airports where exit was direct into the terminal"
Ulemper: "At Reykjavik, boarding in bad weather is not a desirable experience. Passengers are out in the elements and sometimes people blocking the aisles during boarding backs up onto the tarmac where quite a few people will be getting windblown and wet.....for a while."
Fordele: "Great crew, thank you for a safe flight."
Ulemper: "I did not like the configuration for such a long flight. One set of bathrooms in the back of the plane for the whole economy class is not ideal for an eight hour flight. I think the passengers in the back have to suffer through people standing in aisle for most of flight. no food except for purchase. Limited seating at airport. Did not like having to board bus to plane"
Fordele: "Good selection of entertainment. Comfortable seats. Like their preflight video with safety information done very creatively."
Ulemper: "One of our checked bags was severely mistreated, with three items inside shattered despite being very carefully cushioned preflight (and doing just fine when checked through on other airline earlier). Nothing, not even a bag of pretzels, is provided on this 8-hour flight without paying for it, except a bottle of water as board, and a glass of juice or water mid-flight. Airport so busy had to be bused to plane preflight (and on arrival in Iceland). That resulted in being packed into a waiting area and onto buses in an unorganized "cattle drive" manner."
Ulemper: "The Reykjavik airport is very crowded, with gates very close together, often boarding at the same time with no announcements. Most flights do not board by jetway and you have to wait in line to board a bus that takes you out to the plane. We were towards the end of the line and so while the crew waited for a few remaining passengers that were transferring from another late Icelandair flight, we waited on the bus, standing, with doors open letting in cold air, for over 30 minutes."

Fully booked so the BA policy of 2 pieces of carry on falls down....

My flight out from SFO was cancelled. No one contacted me with the result I had to spend 3h extra waiting for the next flight. On the return I had booked for a 10:45 am departure. My itinerary said BOTH 10:45 and 07:20. I finally got an agent who said the flight was for 07:20. The movies did not work in my seat. I changed to another seat where the sound only came out from the right speaker. Pretty poor when you spend the money to fly business.

Ulemper: "staff Attitude could be better. Also no milk for toddlers but free vine for people to get drunk, be loud on overnight flight, then snore and stink drunk. My table was all in some snort when I opened it to put my meal on. Dirty lavatory floors."

Would have been nice with a hot towel for face and hands after a long semi-night flight (10hrs). Extremely cold. Everyone was freezing and coughing due to very, very cold cabin air. Very old entertainment system. Grainy blurry screens. No charging of devices via usb. The control was fixed to armrest and was accidentally pressed al the time while resting and arm on the armrest. Remote gate in LHR."

Ulemper: "The dinner menu was ok. I didn’t like the breakfast at all."

Fordele: "The crew generally is kind and patient. This older aircraft had new seats installed."
Ulemper: "BA now doesn’t even provide you with a glass of water or peanuts for free. Everything is buy on board like Easyjet or Ryannair. Entertainment is non-existent as are any type of power outlets. Seat pitch is very tight."

Ulemper: "i Had arrived early and was seated properly... however they held the plane over one hour delay to help late passengers ... this made problems with the connection flight .. they sent us to the wrong terrmknall and lost our luggage.. I feel like this was planned so they could sell out seats at a higher price last minute Fix all the above Call me to make this right"

Fordele: "Overall an outstanding experience. Staff is attentive and cheerfully accommodated people throughout the flight. No request was denied as far as I could tell."
Ulemper: "We had a 2 hour delay on our flight from Heathrow to LAX. That being said it was during the most severe cold front to hit North America and counterparts flying with connections in some of the hardest hit town had delays of 24 hours or more."

Fordele: "The plane, that is. Seats are small in economy. The plane was hot. And we spent an hour on the runway with no air for a mechanical issue. At least the service was nice."

Fordele: "Boarding was exceptionally well-handled. Boarding passess/passports were checked prior to entering the boarding area and seating started when people came into the boarding area so passengers were finltering onto the plane immediately without the first calls for priority passengers."

Fordele: "BA crew was amazing--friendly, courteous, helpful. There was always plenty of food--most of it good, and they certainly kept us hydrated with trays of juice. Free everything: wine, movies, music, etc"
Ulemper: "There was nothing different that could have been done. We had a 5 hour layover after our flight from Shannon. That was ok because we ate, shopped and generally used the time. But we were 1/1/2 hours late taking off, then had to wait to land because we were out of order for the gates. It turned into a 23 hour day."
Fordele: "Food good and very attentive and friendly Cabin crew Amanda made the flight a pleasure."

Fordele: "The agents and crew were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The boarding was timely, the crew was very friendly. The service was exceptional. The only issue was seating, too cramped. I am 5'11"and weigh 135. I was uncomfortable in my seat. My husband was uncomfortable in his seat. This made a 9 hour flight rough. The crew, food and entertainment were great, but the seating made me think twice about flying to Europe on British Airlines in the future."
