Fordele: We only stopped one night to go to a concert at the O2.We stopped at The Pilot in 2015 and it is much improved now.We had breakfast,my husband had a cooked breakfast and I had 2 poached eggs on toast asI don't eat meat and both were very nice.

Fordele: The room was unique and tastefully set out, the bed was comfortable and having a controllable air con system was nice. Food was good and most staff were attentive and polite.

Ulemper: Not being able to ascertain the exact location from staff when we called on route after getting lost .

Fordele: Very quirky setting: half a street of Georgian London (pub plus a row of terrace houses) totally surrounded by modern development. Spacious, comfortable and nicely decorated room, good food at a good price, friendly. Walking distance to Tube, riverbus, cable car.

Ulemper: A bit noisy but that's to be expected (pub).

Fordele: The Pilot Inn is ideally placed for stays when visiting the O2. It has free parking. Excellent rooms, which are well stocked with good quality beverages and toiletries. The breakfast is scrummy!!! A great find for us, we will definitely go again

Ulemper: No dedicated parking from hotel but you do have multi storey car park near by. Also car doesn't drive to hotel entrance. If you are with kids then be ready to walk from the car park to the hotel

Fordele: A unique experience for a city centre stay. We had a great room with waterside balcony and drinks and dinner on deck overlooking the water/docks was brilliant. Clean and very well appointed room and a great big bed!

Ulemper: The only thing I am not happy with is there is money held on your card and it still has not been released and no one has come back to me. I paid on leaving for extra bits for the weekend and then they still took further money but did not refund the amount

Fordele: We were helped by Nahum and Sandra in advance of our stay, to help direct us to car parking. During our stay all staff were friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome. The evening meal was well served and tasty. Staff were rigorous about our food allergies. The location was great and distinctive. We enjoyed watching the planes landing from the rear of the yacht with a drink and sunshine. Who needs a cruise?

Ulemper: We are asked to leave a credit card deposit, but then were charged for the evening meal, as terminals weren't working! We thought the charge for breakfast was far too high.

Fordele: Location is beautiful. Ideal for Excel but not great if your wanting to stay 'in London'

Fordele: Breakfast was lovely and room was huge. Shame I was promised a view of the docks, but actually got a view of the excel...

Ulemper: Location wasn't ideal for me but the value of the room was worth it. View of the excel was disappointing when I booked a dockside room.

Ulemper: there was water on the floor in our bathroom, a small leak form somewhere which we reported twice and was not fixed.

Fordele: So spacious and very grand reception, room comfortable

Ulemper: Some of the rooms had flooring and it made the room very hollow sounding. Spent over 2 hours after midnight trying to get to sleep, only to hear noise above me continuously as if wearing heels. For a one night stay for £250, I was a little disappointed. When I went to complain at 2.15am, the staff did what they could to make my stay better. The breakfast was lovely! The staff were very accommodating and the view of the London skyline at night on the bar terrace or for breakfast was amazing.

Ulemper: Vi havde booket hotel tæt ved Hyde Park. Men dette blev desværre af annulleret. Så turen ind til byen og tilbage igen fra dette hotel hver dag syntes jeg var lang. Der var alt alt for koldt der hvor vi spiste morgenmad. Dette oplyste vi også personalet om. Men der var lige så koldt dagen efter. Morgenmaden kunne godt ha varietet lidt.

Ulemper: room had a view...but the view was off the car park and river. the air con kept turning off automatically hence it got hot during the evening. Not much water given and no fridge.

Fordele: The staff were friendly and attentive, the room was super clean, modern and comfortable. Overall we thought the hotel was one of the best we have stayed in. The staff made up our room with some extra treats as it was our anniversary which made it all the more special.

Ulemper: Bar and restaurant prices were expensive, but we were staying in London and it was a treat weekend.

Fordele: Excellent location for o2 shame London transport don’t run the emirates lift until midnight as this would open up to bigger market but definitely will use again

Fordele: Good location, not too busy, a few restaurants nearby if you wish to eat out, (or alternatively eat at hotel). Train station 2 minutes walk away, easy to jump on, change at Canning Town and travel into central London. Lovely food, with wide variety at breakfast. Excellent staff, friendly, helpful and professional.

Ulemper: Smoked bacon at the breakfast buffet, (nothing wrong with the cooking of it, it just isn't my personal preference).

Fordele: The general feel ... all of it was great

Fordele: It was worth for value for a family with breakfast.

Ulemper: The check in took extra 45 minutes due to room was not ready. The staff at front desk was not feeling sorry, they behaved as if it’s normal and I must expect this service delay. Secondly, I saw my credit card statement today and shocked seeing one additional charge GBP112 in my credit card from Novotel London excel. My payment were done upon check in itself and I have checked out with notifications on 29Aug. This charge is unacceptable. This is the second time I have issue for my reservations with booking.com as my previous stay with Hyatt place Dubai also was restless.

Fordele: We just got married and went straight to hotel, when booking I said it’s our honeymoon. They upgraded our room for free and put rose petals and a towel design in the shape of a love heart. Which was totally unexpected was just expecting a rose or something but they went all out and made our wedding night so special. Everything was amazing.

Fordele: Everything about this hotel was great - location, room, cleanliness, staff, etc. It exceeded our expectations and we will definitely be returning here!

Ulemper: Aircon was not very good. And the hotel did not seem that good for a 4* hotel, would definitely not pay full price.

Fordele: Nice quirky design

Ulemper: Staff were completely untrained, bar service was a shambles, food inedible. 4 staff looked in the bar fridge to try to find a red wine for the customer next to me, they eventually told him they only had one type of red wine and he got the last bottle. I had a similar experience trying to get a glass of white. Only one person seemed to know how check in worked so big wait there. Food came out literally 2 minutes after ordering, clearly thrown on the plate then microwaved as they were closing the kitchen. Stone cold!

Fordele: Very nice new hotel, my favorite place to stay in London. With DLR closeby and Stratford Station one can easily get into central London within 20 minutes.

Fordele: Very comfortable and clean, liked the environment. Great location!

Ulemper: Breakfast could be better. And also the food in general more fresh food.

Fordele: All other hotels I’ve stayed in are just basic this one has character and is clean I loved all the different colour lights in the room it’s just cosy and more up to date plus the tv is really good as well

Ulemper: The only bad thing I could say is where the location is not many shops or anything but you have a train station like 2 mins from you

Fordele: I really liked the lounge area of the hotel, very pleasant to sit.. however there could have been a little music playing in the evenings. The staff were nice, and hotel is near a DLR station. I also liked the personalised greeting on the television when you turned it on.. It was nice reading my name on tv:)

Ulemper: For a four star hotel at £69 for one night, I expected the room to have a much higher quality..it was a very small room, and quite dusty. I didn't like not having tea and coffee making facilities in the room, however it was possible to get tea or coffee near the bar/reception, where a kettle was provided.

Ulemper: Vi bestilte en taxa til lufthavn via hotel. Pris var aftalt og bekræftet. Men vi blev opkrævet 30 pund mere af taxa chauffør. Og taxa chauffør var ikke til at forhandle med. Det var ikke hotellet skyld - de var meget hjælpsom. Men øv oplevelse. Og vi havde ikke tid til at diskuterer med taxa :-(

Fordele: Fairly close to the O2- 20 minute walk. Good views. Good quality of breakfast.

Ulemper: The noise from the adjacent road. Lack of drawers/ shelves in the room. Breakfast finishes at 9.30am which is too early after being at a night out.

Ulemper: Food awful, staff abrupt. Room stank. No pillows on spare bed. Noisy, hot and pedestrian access for tube station not clear.

Fordele: Great location only 15 mins from the 02 arena. Room was clean although the shower area was a bit grubby.

Fordele: They got really nice pizza's at the bar. Mind that it takes about 15 minutes before ready. On the other hand, pizza Hut is really close by.

Ulemper: Breakfast is really average for the 200 euro I paid for 1 night for me and my daughter. Location without car is not great.

Ulemper: The room was classed as a suite which it certainly wasn’t. On one day our tea, coffee and milk was replaced and clean towels were put in bathroom but the bed was left unmade and used coffee cups which were brought up to the room along with wine glasses were just left. Consider the cost for the three nights which was outrageous it was appalling.

Fordele: Very friendly and helpful staff, nothing was too much for them.

Ulemper: The Food and drink was a bit pricey, but having said that the food was excellent, and plenty of it.

Ulemper: There was a very unusual smell in the bathroom that I had to report to reception on checking out. You are right next to London City Airport, so planes are very very close. The noise is outstanding. Windows in room are not triple glazed.

Fordele: The hotel was clean and well managed. The staff were friendly and efficient and worked quite hard to please us customers. Breakfast was self serve and very well organised with constant top ups. The evening meal could be taken in the bar or within the restaurant and the service in both was good. For my visit to London, it was great that hotel was next to London City Airport and a DLR station so getting around was a doddle. Good hotel; nice cookies !!

Ulemper: There was nothing to dislike alas; so no incentive to moan !

Ulemper: The hotel is old, smells badly, breakfast is poor. Was extremely expensive for such level

Fordele: Meget god valuta for pengene og bekvemt. God service, gratis morgenmad, god beliggenhed ift ExCel-begivenheder og lufthavn. En smule ubekvemt for besøg til det centrale London, men ellers ingen klager!

Fordele: Rooms are simple but comfortable. Buffet breakfast. Staff pleasant.

Ulemper: It's right beside London City airport so good if you're using that. Otherwise I found it a. It in the middle of nowhere so not a great location if you're a tourist. Having said that it's also right beside the DLR you can use that to get you where you want.

Fordele: The breakfest was a surprise. So good and fresh. Better than in many higher class hotels

Ulemper: It was not possible to book 2 rooms in one go on internet. Hence I booked two two times one room on my name which caused quite some confusion at the beginning. Also annoiyng was that the hotel was overbooked when we arrived. It ended up that I got a disabled room.

Fordele: I didn't really like anything except that the airport was close by.

Ulemper: I couldn't beive there was only 30 minutes of free wifi. AND no TELEPHONE. The TV looked like a computer. Don't let me continue.

Fordele: Our second year here for the weekend of the Ride 100 London Surrey, parking is reasonable however very tight, we paid £7.50 for 24hrs so checked in quite late, seems a busy hotel particularly due to the cycle event and Excel being on the doorstep, any event there makes this the ideal place to stay as it's a walk to Excel. right next to city airport and close to DLR, noise over night was not an issue in our room, although the train runs till midnight we could hear it didn't bother us, stayed in room 227.

Ulemper: The Car Park is inadequate however there is parking at Excel which is just a 5 min walk.
