Fordele: The room was well set out with an extra bed for a 3rd adult. The beds were all comfortable and the sound proofing was excellent so we all got a good nights sleep. Useful in room safe and tea/ coffee making facilities. The breakfast was excellent with a wide ranging fresh buffet and hot food cooked to order. The best thing however was the staff. They were all friendly and helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay extra special as my daughter celebrated her 21st birthday. They arranged a bottle of Prosseco and chocolate strawberries as well as a card and balloons! Fantastic and huge thanks go to Beth and Kostatin for all their care and attention. The restaurant was also excellent, a new experience for us to have Peruvian food and the staff were helpful with reccommendations.

Fordele: Hotellet har en vidunderlig beliggenhed, men i forhold til prisen var værelset meget lille og det samme var sengen. Badeværelset havde badekar men var dårligt indrettet så håndklæderne skulle hænge over toilettet, og badekarret var underligt fladt. Morgenmaden var god, men man skal vente for længe på de varme retter. Hvis hotellet ikke havde været så dyrt havde vi været meget tilfredse, men til den pris var der meget lidt komfort på værelset.

Fordele: We told them it was our anniversary and checked in to find champagne and chocolate cake in our room. Bed was extremely comfortable. Bathroom was spacious and beautiful. Decor was lovely. Service was amazing. Location was right near Embankment stop for the tube. Kerrington’s restaurant was beautiful and the food was amazing. Be sure to dress up for dinner. Morning buffet in the North Hall offered lots of choices. Restroom has audio of local actors reading prose and poetry.

Fordele: The Corinthia is a luxurious hotel with several lovely bars, a wonderful afternoon tea, beautiful flowers and spacious, beautiful rooms. But what I liked most about the hotel was the service. From the time we arrived - wait, no, even BEFORE we arrived, we were treated warmly and respectfully. Our original flight was canceled, so I called the hotel directly to let them know. The representative was lovely and kind (much nicer than anyone at United Airlines), and helped us extend our stay by a day to make up for our missing our original schedule. Then, when we finally did arrive at the Corinthia, we appreciated the attentiveness of the reception staff and the personal tour of the property. Our room was even more delightful than we expected from the photos. We engaged the concierge and bell staff for a variety of things, including helping me with my lost luggage, and each member of the staff was unfailing polite and helpful. Finally, we enjoyed a drink at the Kerridge's Bar - and we were so enamored with the decor and atmosphere that we canceled our existing dinner reservation and were able to be seated in the restaurant. Our meal was the best we had while in London - especially the mushroom risotto (which isn't really risotto, as they will explain) and the fish and chips (yep, this 2-starred Michelin restaurant serves fish and chips and it is DIVINE). I look forward to taking my husband back to this hotel and highly recommend it for all.

Ulemper: The only negative I can think of is that the shower door is so low to the ground that it scrapes the bath mat away and results in water getting on the floor. Not even worth a mention!

Fordele: Det er nærmest umuligt at finde en bedre beliggenhed, hvis man er turist i London. Adskillige store attraktioner inklusive alle de store teatre ligger i kort gå-afstand. Vi var også begejstrede for det søde personale, og at der forekom pinligt rent overalt. Værelset havde også alle de faciliteter, man kunne ønske sig og lidt til; problemet var bare, at det hele var proppet ind på alt for lidt plads. Madrassen var fin. Der var ingen gadestøj. Sikkerheden i top.

Værelset havde også alle de faciliteter, man kunne ønske sig og lidt til; problemet var bare, at det hele var proppet ind på alt for lidt plads. Madrassen var fin. Der var ingen gadestøj. Sikkerheden i top.
Ulemper: Der var tydeligvis et ønske fra hotellets side om at tilbyde gæsterne alt i "amenities", men da værelset kun består af få kvadratmeter betyder det fx, at kufferter må stuves ad vejen i en enorm skuffe under sengen, så man ligger på et unaturligt højt leje. Samtidig er sengen anbragt op ad væggen, men da der ikke er plads for enden af den, betød det, at den der ligger inderst må skræve over den anden person i dobbeltsengen, hvis man fx har et natligt ærinde. Der er heller ikke blevet plads til en håndvask på badeværelset, så man må vaske hænder i selve rummet efter toiletbesøg. Vi er også nødt til at nævne elevatoren - ligesom resten af hotellet fin, ren og ny - men enormt overbelastet. Hotellet består af 106 lejligheder, og der er kun en elevator til alle gæsterne og til rengøringspersonalet. Ventetiden kan være endog meget lang.

Hvor grotesk er det, at I “glemmer” at informere os om den årlige tilbagevendende nytårs-parade, som lukker det meste af det indre London ned for trafik, og dermed giver os store transportmæssige problemer, både ved hjemtransport fra nytårsaften, og ikke mindst ved afgang fra hotellet til lufthavnen med alt vores bagage!!!!!

Fordele: We were surprised by the quality of breakfast especially as the breakfast area was quite small but everything was so fresh and flavourful and of a really high standard. They kept replenishing the breakfast area as well. We really enjoyed our stay and ended up staying in our room longer than we thought as we had a terrace and everything was so nice and comfortable. Really liked the bar area too.

Ulemper: I didn't like the perfume pumped through the air-con in the corridors and bedrooms. Infact we had to be moved as I suffer from asthma and it was effecting my breathing to a none perfumed floor (5) and room. The corridors are too dark, felt like a ship..

The check in staff did not advise that reservations were necessary for the rooftop bar - our 3 guests arrived, my husband requested the lift they called up & said it was ok. When my husband & guests got to the rooftop, they were seated in the restaurant. I managed to get it sorted out & we were “squeezed” in - very embarrassing. Your staff needs to advise hotel guests that RESERVATIONS are required.

Ulemper: Value for money - this hotel was similarly priced to 5 star London hotels but it does not deliver a similar experience. Housekeeping consisted of having the bed made (no turn down service or tidying). Poor hairdryer and minibar (they’ve opted for an ‘all inclusive’ style minibar which consists of water and Coca Cola, no snacks at all - would rather a chargeable bar with wider selection if that is how the hotel intends to play it). Breakfast is weird - they have a buffet and a la carte style (all a la carte items are charged additionally - fine but not fine to charge for a cappuccino or any other type of coffee that is not filter).

Fordele: Hotel staff are super friendly. They patiently answered all my questions. Also, they provided me with great advice that saved us money on taxi to train station. This hotel has a perfect location which is close to everything. Plus, hotel was kindly arranged a wonderful card, a piece of cake a bottle of Champ for my aunt who was having her birthday during our stay in London. It was a nice surprise to all of us. I will definitely recommand this hotel to my friends if they travel to London in future.

They picked us up at the corner of the street with a trolley since cars can’t come into Leicester Square at a certain time. The family room was so big, fit all 4 of us and enough room for our huge luggages. It had a view of Leicester Square. The breakfast was great! It had a lot of great options. There was Nespresso in the room, as well.

He was very nice, considerate : he offered water, drinks, a blanket and made sure I get a room as FAST as he could. THE VALLET GUY EVERY MORNING IS JUST F A N T A S T I C It is sad that construction works are blocking the road towards your hotel. They picked us up at the corner of the street with a trolley since cars can’t come into Leicester Square at a certain time. The family room was so big, fit all 4 of us and enough room for our huge luggages. It had a view of Leicester Square. The breakfast was great! It had a lot of great options. There was Nespresso in the room, as well.
Ulemper: It might be better if the hotel gave prior notice that the street isn’t accessible at certain times and where the best place to enter should be.

He was very nice, considerate : he offered water, drinks, a blanket and made sure I get a room as FAST as he could. Ulemper: -For the price that we paid, I would have expected the rooms to be much bigger, and in general to be much nicer. (Also, they have these horrid faux fur throws on the end of the bed. Why? It adds nothing in terms of style and is outdated) -No bar or restaurant although they provide places locally to get a bite to eat. -The hotel is split into two parts and the hallways are so dark you can get a bit lost.

Ulemper: Jeg syntes ikke om at hver gang en på etagen over os gik på toilettet eller var i bad var det som om vi boede i et skur med blik tag - det var helt vildt som det larmede i rørene ( ihvertfald på 226) Så syntes jeg ikke om at ikke alle fik serveret champagne ved tjekind . Jeg syntes ikke om at den mandlige receptionist var meget opmærksom på hvad jeg ville rate dem på tripadvisor og oplyste at jeg ville få 10% på næste ophold hvis jeg gav dem 5 stjerner og nævnte hans navn - som han var så flink at stave for mig.

The bathroom with the heated floor was very nice surprise. Doorman was wonderfully welcoming, the bellboys were quick and helpful and the concierge was professional and always pleasant and patient.

Ulemper: I didn't like the room, we were given a disabled room with disabled fixtures and fittings in the bathroom, I didn't request this and wasn't informed about it, the first I new was when we got to the room. Paintwork flaking off of woodwork, split silicone sealant around sink area. Your average premier Inn room was better than this...….and much cheaper. Frosted secondary double glazing on the windows, absolutely no view at all, pull aside the secondary glazing to reveal the middle of the building, pipes, ductwork and filth everywhere (explains the frosted glass).

Ulemper: Firstly I don’t like the service of the bell boy at the front gate. I have been to a lot of hotels including five stars but never have seen the attitude like the bell boys from that hotel. All are standing even though seeing the customer is taking luggages. Secondly I don’t like the attitude of front desks stuff. Already requested for an early check in as I have a meeting and I arrived the hotel at 2:30. It was half an hour before of that hotel policy to check in time. They won’t let me in until 3:03pm and said the room is not ready yet. Seeing the customer is waiting and sitting there for half an hour, they have no effort like asking the housekeeper whether the room is ready or no welcome drink at all. Thirdly, I don’t like the room. I booked a river view but the view of the window is so small and can’t even say it is a view. I am feeling my money for that view is not worth it. The room is so small and the hotel is very old. Fourth, the elevator is very old model 1000kgs type and very narrow. It was stopping once in every floor. Very disappointed to take that elevator. Fifthly, I stayed in that hotel at the raining day. The hotel is so old and so bad and even water drops are pouring drop by drop from the ceiling. I saw a bucket and it was collecting the rain drops in front of the elevator entrance of eighth floor. I was so shocked seeing the rain dropping from the ceiling. When I check about the hotel, it says “the Royal Horseguards” is a Five Star Hotel. I don’t know in what part it is being rated five stars. I will rate it not even a three star hotel.

Ulemper: I asked for an early check in which wasn't possible and I understood this. However, when I returned at the regular check in time, the receptionist without checking with anyone, insisted the room still wasn't ready. Had to ask for the manager, who after checking with housekeeping, found the room was ready. Receptionist was not happy at being contradicted and was less than pleasant for the rest of the check-in process. Not offered breakfast discount on check-in so would have paid substantially more if I hadn't found out about the discount by accident. Stayed two nights. Mini-fridge was not restocked the second day. Took 45 minutes to get a bucket of ice and then felt guilty for asking for it when we found out the poor guy doing room service was the only one on duty. Seems like the hotel needs to amp up the staff numbers to provide the five star service you're paying for.

Ulemper: Was on a business trip and an iron would have been useful. Great sound insulation save could hear running water from showers in other rooms - it was that or very noisy air-con. Not sure paying for a room with windows was worth it as was on the ground floor with opaque windows that were directly onto the pavement outside so just pulled down blackout blinds.

It was August and 30 degrees so this was rather dissatisfying. The hotel did put a small fan in my room but I wasn’t able to sleep very well due to the discomfort. Fordele: Great location - we were going for dinner on Victoria Embankment and then a show at Aldwych Theatre so the hotel was really easy to get to and from. Just a short walk from Leicester Square tube station if you're travelling from Euston train station. Check-in was quick and easy, too. The lights in the corridors leading to the rooms are quite dim and the decor's quite dark so part of me wondered what type of hotel it was; especially walking into the room and seeing a huge pink rabbit! Plus straps with buckles on the bed's headboard! We stayed on the eight floor so had good views of London's skyline. The room itself had enough space (we had a 'Nest' room which is classed as superior double on some other agent sites) and included a small sofa, big bed, some hangers on a rail next to the bed, a small ledge next to one side of the bed and a little 'hole' in the edging around the bed to store a book or something. Plenty of plug sockets around the room, full length mirror built into the sliding door to the bathroom - and a great waterfall-style shower (with a hand-held, too!) We had a good, comfortable stay and the staff were more than happy to help with anything we asked for (we needed an iron to use while we were there!)

Ulemper: Windows were boarded up hence I woke up not knowing if it is raining or sunny outside. Arrived the first night with no proper pillows provided (only small display cushions)- asked the staff at that time if they have normal pillows and the reply I got was that is all the pillows they have. Asked a different staff the next day and had a much better response- apologised and sent for pillows right away. Both bath towels provided were dirty- 1 had sticky tar like substance, 1 had hair on it. There is no blanket. The second day (weekday), woke up to construction sounds early at 8am. Throughout the night you can hear people walking and closing doors, hence room is not soundproof as advertised. Lift was tight and 1 out of 2 lifts were out of service, hence waiting time is long.

Ulemper: Construction work ongoing. Posters said noise would start st 9am. Rude 8am awakening. On top of that there are NO facilities. No TV. No kettle. Not even cups or glasses. There’s a nice bar upstairs, but you can’t take your drink back to your room to not watch your TV. It’s budget in the extreme, which is fine, but when you pay more than £300 for a night because who knows what is going on in London and all the hotels are insane prices, £300 is a lot of money for budget. Will NOT be returning.

Ulemper: Odd plastic coating to the carpets in the corridor, at least on the 6th floor where I was! I arrived tired and hungry at 10pm and there was no food to be had at all in the hotel. Had to go to a burger place opposite! The shower head (not the rainfall one above; the hand-held attachment) was slightly broken at the base spraying water out at an odd angle.

Ulemper: There was no window in our bedroom and although there was a small opening window in the adjacent study nook, it felt quite claustrophobic. (The staff did their best by providing a small fan for air circulation.) The air conditioning unit was very noisy, but nothing that ear plugs didn’t fix.

Ulemper: Having requested a walk in shower it took a while on arrival to find the premises has none. Likewise it took a while to find out that the Hotel has no feather pillows - this was important as some pillows felt like feathers. Hand rails at the entrance steps were sadly lacking. I'm not sure that preserving the character of the original building is a good enough excuse for this. Disability access is important these days.

Ulemper: I had room 112 (17-21 Sept) which had tired decor and non functioning air conditioning. Air con had broken down which they had to then switch off for the whole building (which happened after a recent repair) and would be non functioning for another 2 weeks (according to them). Staff provided a fan AND portable air con unit which made the room just survivable. It’s an old building which needs work. My impression is that the hotel group is milking profit from the location and using it for staff training. The staff I encountered were doing their best with great attitudes but clearly no real accountability or ownership with front desk managers coming and going on a daily basis. Almost felt a sense that they knew the building is working against them and having to deal with grumpy customers for a day to develop better service skills.

Fordele: The W Hotel is in a very central location in London - right in the heart of Chinatown and it's surroundings. We expected it to be quite loud but found the hotel to be extremely quiet and comfortable during our stay there. The hotel has a very funky vibe and is suited to travellers who don't mind being in the heart of the action and looking for a modern hotel. The room was comfortable and had all the modern conveniences one would expect from a hotel of W's size. Overall, a pretty good stay!

Ulemper: I received the worst treatment possible from the managerial staff. Firstly, even though they had my reservation, which was made and confirmed a month and a half in advance, they decided that they didn't have any room available for me to stay in when I arrived to check in. I found this to be very unprofessional since they could have called me or emailed me prior to my arrival at the hotel to give me a forewarning so that I could plan ahead as well. The situation was worsened by the staff then relaying this information to me in a very condescending manner in which they had the very unapologetic tone of "take it or leave it".
Secondly, they decided that a fair way to "compensate" me would be by reserving a room in another hotel on my behalf, without any input from me regarding choice, and then giving me a ride to this new hotel. I specifically chose the W for my stay and did not choose the other hotel when making my initial plans. So, the manager felt he could take the payment for the room at the W, decide that they no longer have a room at the W, then deny me the choice of an alternative hotel, and all without the option of a refund. They said they were compensating me, but I feel that they cheated me greatly. It was terrible customer service. Eventually, I had no choice but to take their offer of staying at the other property, which I didn't want to stay in, since they were not going to make any room available for me at the W for the night.
Truthfully, I feel there were a bunch of racial undertones and biases based on the unprofessional, condescending, unempathetic, and unapologetic tone of the manager and staff. I have stayed at many hotels around the world. This has been, by far, my worst experience with any hotel staff regarding a reservation.

Ulemper: W hotel always have party during the weekend! The room is quiet still! But you can feel the hotel is “busy” during the party time. Also, no bath in the room, which is a bit weird for this price’. Shower room very small.

Ulemper: For the price of £356 per room per night, breakfast should have been included! We cancelled our breakfast order as it took far too long to arrive and we to be elsewhere. Bar and waiting staff didn’t seem to be interested in helping or very knowledgable.

Ulemper: On two separate occasions I came to find my room door open (the housekeeping forgot to close the door when they finished cleaning my room and kept the door open with all my belongings inside) Totally made me feel unsafe! The first room (spectacular room) is very small bcoz of the counter they have in the middle, takes up soo much space in the room so no place to move around. Cleanliness wasn’t good either although i did point it out a few times. And above all that my room was just on top of the bar so the noise was too much to handle and my room was actually shaking from the loud sound.

Ulemper: Well it is what it is. Very small pod rooms. Think large sleeper train compartment size. I don’t think a heavy tall bloke would even fit into the room I had. Shower was very good and actually plenty of room unlike the rest of the pod. Sep loo and sink very cramped. Like thousands of others I will book again. But if you are 6.2 Rugby build or above beware of room size.

Ulemper: Bedding could be better, pillows very flat and made sleep difficult. Rooms get very warm as window barely opens. Lights in the corridors could be dimmer after 11pm as they shone under the door and kept the room lighter than is good for sleeping.

Ulemper: the breakfast pancakes and waffles, the room scent too strong in lobby, horrible elevator music playing all over the hotel, worn down interior, lamps that didn't work, the door had been painted so many times it was hard to open and close without using a lot of force. The hotel just doesn't feel luxurious at all.

Ulemper: Værelset var så lille (bogstaveligt talt væg til væg-seng), at der ikke var nogen steder at lægge noget. Jeg rejste med min datter, så at dele en seng var ikke ideelt. Vi blev sat i et kælderværelse uden vindue, så det var mørkt, hvilket var fint til at sove, men syntes farligt, hvis der var en brand, og ville have været lidt deprimerende, hvis vi havde ønsket at være på værelset mere.

Fordele: I have stayed in Mimis many times. I like the location very much, close to nice restaurants which are still open when I finish work.
Ulemper: The size of the rooms is fine. I find them cosy and generally sleep very well, which is one of the reasons I choose to stay there. In fact this room was a little large than normal. However on this occasion there were several issues which caused me a big problem - I essentially got no sleep at all: (i) the thermostat seemed broken causing fluctuations in temperature; (ii) the walls were very thin and I could hear the neighbour performing all of his/her bathroom functions, including regular vomiting; (iii) the light switches were broken and there was no way to turn off all the lights. The lights were on all night.

Ulemper: 3rd stay here and can't believe how it has deteriorated. Majority of staff came across very unhappy and unfriendly. Service at breakfast was non existent, no offer of coffee , had to ask for food to be restocked at the hot buffet. Dining area was dirty especially on tables and chairs . Paid for a bigger room which was lovely but were not told bathroom was set up for disabled use ,which is great to see but takes the edge of a bit of luxury when spending that bit more. Burnt my head as shower kept fluctuating in temperature to the extreme,which is very concerning if it is being used by anyone with a disability. Couldn't get signal on the TV.

Ulemper: When I arrived at 10 am I asked for early check-in as I had requested by mail and phone already, invoking business meetings at noon for which I had to shower and dress and the fact that I was going to leave at 6 am the next day and would thus occupy the room less than 24h. The answer was a stereotype "we have no availability now, have to put you on waiting list, cannot guarantee you will get a room before 14h". Only when I insisted, mentioning that someone had just checked out in front of me and that it would certainly not take more than an hour to make up that room and that otherwise I would have to look further and cancel my reservation did the staff take the "trouble" of calling housekeeping. And - surprise - there were actually two nice rooms free and ready on the top floor ! Afterwards the staff became very friendly and accomodating though, allowing me to have my breakfast (which was included) on the day of arrival rather than of the departure which would have been too early. I cannot say whether the initial formality and lack of flexibility and disposition is company policy or was due to the attitude of the two people at the reception.
