Fordele: The location is great. Right around the corner from the V&A and the Natural History Museum. Across the street from the Tube, and surrounded by great restaurants. This was the perfect home base for a weekend in London. The decor was charming and whimsical, sort of Alice in Wonderland with lots of bright colors and a bird theme which ran through the hotel. Our room was small as most London Hotels are, and finding a place to stow the luggage was a bit of a hat trick, but once we figured it out, everything was great. Although we never had breakfast at the hotel, we did have morning coffee and tea in the tea room every day. Delightful. Would return in an instant!

It was gorgeous inside, extremely well located near the South Kensington tube and nearby pubs and restaurants in Chelsea, the staff was simply wonderful and the rooms were pretty and very comfortable. Also loved the front room where you can grab a bite to eat and a glass of wine, and the breakfast room downstairs. The free water, juices and soft drinks provided in the bar fridge were a nice touch.

Ulemper: The gym was very well appointed in terms of weights, towels and free water but the space was too small in my view, it needed to be at least double the size as only 2-3 people would comfortably fit. Equally, the smaller hotel rooms (where my sisters stayed) have limited space if you are staying for more than 2 nights, but the hotel reception kindly advised us of this beforehand.

There are a couple of stairs from elevator to room, but far better this than lugging luggage up flights of stairs. We dropped our luggage in the morning and returned in the evening and they had already moved bags up into our room for us.

Ulemper: WiFi var forfærdeligt. Den var forbundet, men var for langsom til at gøre det umagen værd. Tv-kanalerne omfattede heller ikke nogen sportsgrene! Ikke at jeg ønskede at spilde min ferie at se sport på tv på et hotel, men det ville have været rart at holde sig på score og sådan. Også den gamle bygning var meget usikker. Jeg blev vækket af naboerne over to nætter.

We'd booked a superior room but it was quite small with stairs inside the room and some things (tea pot, hair dryer) to be plugged into the closet with too narrow a space for two of us to pass each other from bedroom to bathroom. Otherwise, it was perfect and I'd book again but in a different room type.

Fordele: This year was my turn to take charge of our Anniversary surprise - I knew I wanted to do a romantic night out London and wanted an extra special room to make the night even more magical so I booked a stay in the Drop dead Gorgeous splash suit. It really was drop dead gorgeous! It exceeded all my expectations in every way, my partner was speechless as we were shown around our room. The room was beautifully decorated; balloons and petals were put in our room which we appreciated so much. The staff were wonderful and very helpful. The hot tub in the room was highlight of the night. It was so warm and cosy. The bed was so comfortable - We both slept like babies and had a wonderful breakfast in the morning to end our stay. I have been bombarded with messages asking about this room and have highly recommended it to every single person. Thank you so much for making our night so special! Hope to visit again!

Making the reservation I requested a “Green Room” and a hotel’s assistant responded momentarily, answered all my questions and promised me to follow up on all my requests. Everything was finally done. I really liked the bathroom. It had a big bathtub and very nice shower cabin. Bath amenities were of high quality! An additional plus was daily complementary water and snacks. I found the hotel’s location great. It is just across the street from the Natural History Museum, 10 min by walk from Kensington Gardens/Hide Park. It is a pretty easy walk to Buckingham Palace and Trafalgar Square. The metro station is also right next to the hotel.

Ulemper: There were not big minuses for me. The only little issues I can point to are: a small room size (if there are 2 of you, then the room can seem very small; plus, big luggage takes a lot of space in the room) and a super slow small elevator which barely fits 3 people.

Fordele: This was my second visit this year. The Concierge and the reception staff were very helpful, especially when there was a problem accessing my room. The problem was resolved in a timely manner by one of the maintenance staff. The hotel is within easy walking distance for the V&A, Natural History and Science museums and close to 2 tube stations, Gloucester Road and South Kensington.

Ulemper: Very small room, no chair to sit on so had to sit on bed , no cupboard or drawers for clothes. Sink covered toilet seat so could not sit on it properly. Very poor accommodation

Walking distance within few minutes you can find self-service laundry, 24 hours convenience store, restaurants and bars, and most importantly the Earl’s Court metro station that brings you to everywhere. Ulemper: Første nat fik vi et virkeligt dårligt værelse , det var koldt og fugtigt og aircon virkede ikke , det gjorde den så pludseligt midt på natten hvor den strømmede koldt luft ud i et i forvejen koldt rum, sengen var umulig at sove i , vi fik en mobil varmeradiator , det hjalp lidt, næste dag fik vi et bedre værelse, der var en hyggelig bar til hotellet der var bare ikke uddannet personale til at lave drinks ,iøvrigt havde de ikke råvare som mynte ect. til rådighed.

Ulemper: I didn’t have breakfast included in my booking which was fine, I paid for my breakfast and after getting my breakfast the host asked me for my room number, he then came back and told me it wasn’t included very rudely, I then gave him my receipt and he continued to yell at me so I gave him my receipt again and he just said oh, no sorry or anything. But still a lovely breakfast just didn’t feel very welcome

Ulemper: The staff were super friendly but could have duplicated our requests a bit better. For example, we broke a glass (our fault) and asked for it to be cleaned and 6 hours later it wasn't and we had to ask again. We asked for a cab to the airport for 2 large suitcases, 2 medium suitcases and 2 passengers, and two cabs showed up thinking we had 6 pieces of luggage. Otherwise, they were great and friendly.

I asked for a high room and got it no problem - there's a load bar across the road and I didn't want to listen to the people outside all night. The view was great. It is clean and well maintained. Ok size room for normal standards, but this is London so compared to what you get in this city, it is enormous. Plus the pool and steam room were a nice bonus to clear the head in the morning.

Fordele: Nice reception staff, very efficient and professional. I asked for a high room and got it no problem - there's a load bar across the road and I didn't want to listen to the people outside all night. The view was great. It is clean and well maintained. Ok size room for normal standards, but this is London so compared to what you get in this city, it is enormous. Plus the pool and steam room were a nice bonus to clear the head in the morning.
Ulemper: Breakfast was pretty tepid. Why can't you keep hot items properly hot? And why are crispy fried foods kept in a closed container so they just go soggy and greasy? I don't know why London hotels only offer English breakfasts too; the rest of Europe manages to provide a whole range of fresh, healthy choice and for much better price.

Fordele: A business hotel with a great breakfast. A very supportive concierge and reception staff. About 500 meters from the train station. The bed was spacious.
Ulemper: The layout of the Bathroom. And since they are going green, No air conditioning. However on request a fan was provided.

Fordele: Location of the hotel is very good.. 10min walk from Paddington Station... Sainsbury's and coffee shops and restaurants are just 3-4 min walk
Ulemper: We stayed in novotel Paddington for four nights... room was neat and clean but small compare to others, we were expecting more good in the price that we were paying...for 200 pounds per night they should give one water bottle at least otherwise everything's was good... Its more like business hotel

Fordele: Excellent location and very convenient for Paddington station. In a lovely safe and clean area. Staff were very helpful and efficient. The room was clean and spacious. The pool was lovely but sometimes a little busy as it is small.
Ulemper: It was quite warm and the a/c didn’t cool the room very much but that is the only minor negative I have about the stay.

Fordele: Location was excellent. Very close to Paddington and great selection of restaurants and bars around the main square area. Very quiet at night also.
Ulemper: Rooms could have more storage and also when the sofa bed was up there was very little room to even walk about. Would suggest occupancy max should be 3 not 4 as advised.

Ulemper: WiFi was poor even though I was on the ground floor, While checking in time one staff were talking to us aggressively don’t know why , we asked for early checking but due to room availability she couldn’t manage it . we can understand but why the aggressive attitude!? We were 4 individuals they upgrade to except 1!! No complementary water in the rooms AC wasn’t cooling.

Ulemper: Mærkeligt at man bestiller morgenmad (og ikke får mulighed for at vælge hvilken slags morgenmad), og at morgenmaden så er delt op i Continental og Full English Breakfast. Man må kun tage noget af det hele hvis man lige betaler lidt ekstra. Åndsvagt og besværligt for både gæster og personale.

Ulemper: Brandalarmen gik (uden brand to gange) i løbet af det første døgn - en ene gang midt om natten. Dørhåndtagene var så skarpe, at en af os kom til skade. Morgenmaden (continental) lever ikke op til de fire stjerner. Elevatoren havde sit eget liv.

Ulemper: When we got to our room late at night the air conditioner was not working properly and the room VERY cold while the bathroom was VERY hot. The front desk sent someone to check it out and sure enough it was broken. They were booked and could not move us and told us to turn it off and open a window. ( They were not apologetic and seemed to not really care).They said they would move us in the morning. We opted to have them fix it as we did not want to waste our vacation time moving into another room in the afternoon. Did NOT get fixed that day. It took 2 days to fix it. They were not the friendliest staff.

Ulemper: Renoveringer er stadig i gang. Bygningen fandt sted på værelset ved siden af os i løbet af dagen på en ugedag. Ingen bygning i weekenden og det startede på en rimelig time på hverdage. Få faciliteter på hotellet, men vi var ikke på udkig efter at bruge dem. Min kone sov ikke så godt, hun har brug for en konturpude, og en var ikke til rådighed.

Ulemper: When we arrived, our room was not ready. We reserved a deluxe room but at the beginning they give us a room with no view, they then change it to a street view one. Room service and reception are not do not answer phone calls in late evening or at night. Food in the breakfast is not variable and is the same everyday.

Bathroom was very tight, but I understand that this is sometimes the case when you travel abroad. We traveled for 3 weeks in British Isles and stayed at wonderful places, some of which had a incredible value for what we got.

Fordele: Loved the location. Perfect for Oxford Street shopping! The reception staff and concierge went out of their way to assist me in getting taxis etc. The welcome fruit bowl was a nice touch. Friendly and attentive staff.
Ulemper: 1. I absolutely hated the sink plugs and the bath plugs. They kept getting blocked and had to be manually unplugged. This is very unhygienic, disgusting and outdated! Please replace! 2. At busy times there was a long wait for the lifts 3. I did not like the cleanliness. The cleaners were using very dirty mops.

Fordele: The location is very central, just off Oxford Street and near to Marble Arch, 5 minute walk to Selfridges. Check in was easy and the member of staff who checked us in was friendly and helpful. Towels and products in the bathroom were nice and the bedding was crisp and white.
Ulemper: The room was a bit noisy as the people in the room above were very heavy footed. This happens in hotels sometimes and can't really be helped. Breakfast was adequate but I've had better.

Ulemper: Room had too many beds in for the size. 3 tier beds meant no head room in middle bunk. I had been given a bottom bunk because I have a bad back but someone had taken it. As bottom bunks were on the floor O would have struggled with them as well, to stand up when I got out. People having sex in bunks next to me and person under me had the sour smell of someone who had not washed in a long time. I suspect the person was homeless and using the hostel for somewhere to live. Breakfast was ok. I stay in hostels a lot and have stayed in the Safestay in York which was much better and not so crammed together, cleaner too. The laminate on stairs to reception was lifting on each step which is a trip hazard.

Ulemper: Showers are combined — male and female together (quite uncomfortable for both). There are lockers in rooms but you need to have your own padlock and a key (otherwise buy at the reception). No towel provided (again, can rent there). At the reception you get a card to access the hostel and your room, and you get a paper that they expect you to carry with you everywhere (so that they can identify you, if necessary). No one ever asked for that paper, but the idea itself is annoying. There is no microwave or a fridge to cook your own breakfast or store some food

Bathroom had tiles falling off and gaps in the grout everywhere Cooked Breakfast felt it had been out for hours and this dry and chewy. Car park was extremely low in height and no warning on web site of this so i only had 100mm above my 4x4 car height. Should be a warning on their web site as no where else to park for miles

Breakfast was OK - I missed porridge as an option The room was clean and comfortable (though the bed squeaked a bit!) and the bathroom facilities were in good order and well cleaned. Having seen some of the negative reviews before I booked I wasn't sure what standard I would find. So I was pleased with what I found.

Ulemper: Morgenmad var dårligere end normal hostel standard. Det værelse jeg var på sank ned på midten, hvilket gjorde at sengene også var misformede og dermed ubehagelige. På gulvet sad der et skilt fra en skadedyrsbekæmper - rimelig ulækkert. De havde fjernet proppen fra badekaret så man ikke kunne tage et karbad, og sagde at “de ikke havde nogen” i receptionen. De kunne ikke finde min reservation og gav mig et nøglekort der ikke virkede, så jeg måtte gå op og ned til 4. sal, da elevatoren var så langsom og gammel at den ikke virkede specielt sikker at bruge.

Ulemper: The first room we were given (919) was in a terrible state. Musty smell, stains and hairs on bedlinen, broken but patched bath panel. Far from what you'd expect from paying £330 for the night. We then complained and were ungraded (not sure you could call it that) to an executive room (550). The tv kept on turning on and off, and when on wouldnt show channels. The bedlinen had holes. The bathroom decor was crumbling (paint) and old. We were then interrupted by Housekeeping at 8.45am who wanted to service the room. Would not stay again.

Ulemper: The rooms were like death apartment in china crammed tiny with 4 people shoved in a closet the beds were kid size and im only 5'8, an to talk about the heat and mug build up in the rooms if you stay never turn off the fan. we left days early just to get away from the place, the bathrooms stink of mold in the floor and around the sinks , the shower room is almost as big as the room just with lament flooring as the bathroom floor not properly vented and stinks of mold, we were informed to put our bags in out beds with the cuts shut so they can come in and vacuum the floor and our stuff would be say (oyes to use the storage drawer under the bed its cost 4 extra to use it) when we came back the room stunk of my friends perfume she had just bought the other day and out bags look like they had be moved or tossed around my hard carrier on was push on top of my bookback which i lef the book bag on top bc of my laptop that was inside. after the 2nd night of staying there me and my friend agreed this place in my 11 years of seeing the world was the worst place i have ever stayed there is like 1 bathroom on each floor to be shared with 20 people it seems, i would have to hold it in to use the bathroom at 4 knowing everyone was asleep because it not you will have 2-5 people try to open the door while your in the middle of your business, there is no outside sign or even a slide panel to state that someone is in there on topping it off its a no refund if you leave early or don't stay which i was willing to leave early after the first few nights of staying there i wouldent want the money back anyway it would probley end up smelling like the bathrooms like mold, it didnt help ether i'm sure at most of the bathrooms are straight piped because you can smell straight sewer when it rains, for a place in Hyde Park as well keeped and clean area this place as well below that stander-ed.

Ulemper: Luggage storage in the room is not included into the room price, I had to pay separately. However, the sum was not expensive. There was no hair drier.

Ulemper: We booked a 4 bed mixed dorm, which meant we were on the fourth floor, with no lift which means you will need to carry your bags and travel up and down to the very top of the building in order to get to your room. With this room we had a private bathroom, however this meant practically showering on the toilet, the shower curtain did NOTHING and meant the whole bathroom got flooded whenever anyone had a shower, including a wet toilet. During our stay a bunch of teenagers who sit on the next door neighbours steps and who smoke weed and play their music all night long whilst approaching people staying at the hostel asking if they want to buy drugs. We had spoken to someone who had stayed at the hostel months before and he said that they were also there on his previous stay, so something that always happens. The hostel staff don’t seem to do anything about them and they are allowed to come in and out of the common foyer as they please. There are lockers under the beds however they will charge you per day to be able to use it.

Ulemper: I have been to many countries especially in Asia and I have always stay on dormitories but I was shocked when I stayed here. Usually, when I arrived at a hostel, the bed is already ready, there is a pillow and mattress, everything..but this hostel is not ready at all. They will just give you the mattress and pillow cover, you will do it yourself. Its not a big deal for me but I am just comparing it to other hostels where I stayed. and you will have to look for an empty bed yourself. Almost zero on Customer Service. I knew from the pictures that its triple decker bed but I was shocked because of the space, Its like they tell you to just lie down most of the time. and what shocked me the most is that they have lots of staff cleaning the hostel but they don't include the rooms. They don't vacuum or have air spray to get rid of the smell from the shoes of other guests. Most of the reception also don't know customer service. They just sat there. In other hostels, After someone checks in, they will guide the guest to the room and inform where his or her bed is. The reception's job is just to sit, check their computer, give keys, give mattress. I hope they learn from Korean Guesthouses on how they do Guesthouse business. Being a low budget dormitory is not an excuse to not being able to give good customer service.

Ulemper: There was a noisy lift by my room, there was a noisy old man next door and constant trains going by, but I did sleep! The water extractor in the sink wasn't working so I had to leave dirty water in the sink.

Ulemper: The place is crying for renovation works. Carpet on densely populated areas which means it's never really clean. Very uncomfortable mattress. Pictures here don't seem to belong there. Definitely not the room I stayed in.

Ulemper: The pictures do not show the real quality of the room. Walls were pealing and dirty, floors were not clean, the bathroom facilities were cramped and gross, beds were horribly quality with springs poking you, and the staff was not service oriented or very friendly. Very disappointed in this location. After talking with some people in London we came to find out that our experience is not normal with hostels, most of the time they are better kept. This was pretty bad. Don’t trust the pictures you see in their ads, they aren’t what you will get.
